My machine is a workhorse and would recommend it to anyone but a few months out of warranty it started to develop Error 06 and Error 18! Surely these machines should last longer than this. Previous models I owned were 10-12 years old. I can understand if the machine that is older than 3-4 years to develop issues but not just over 2 years.

Not sure what error code 06 is but 18 is a draining issue, have you tried cleaning the filter?
Yes, first thing we did. Took the cap off the rubber tube and unscrewed the cap. Clear water drained from the machine and no blockages. Sometimes the cycle does not finish and the door won’t open. The only way to open the door is to set the cycle to drain, when this finishes the door unlocks. There is a bad “electrical”/“plastic” smell in the laundry when the machine is working.

With those error codes there is most likely a blockage. If you've cleaned the filter and the drain pump and the checked the drain hose then a service would be required to look further in the machine.

Hi Emma, I switch between Omo Sensitive and Softly for woollens and delicates. I have never had a problem.
Hi Emma, I also switch between a sensitive powder for my baby who has bad exczema and allergies, and normal powder for the rest of the washing, and haven't had any issues or reactions.
I was wondering how you do this is your IDOS is full of regular detergent? How do you make the load switch to a sensitive detergent? Do you have to empty the tray? Or can you fill the drawer and it will switch?

Hi
I have a Bosch iDOS washing machine with the code WAW286M9SN/01 reference number on the door. The issue is that the detergent dispenser is not dispensing on any program but the softener dispenser is working fine basically it's producing unwashed scented softened washing. Is there a replacement dispenser pump or method to to repair it as I've taken the cover off and cleaned both but still no dispensing of detergent?

Not really apart from replace the top part of the dispenser tray. Seems to work now but not cheap and since it was only the detergent pump which seemed to be failing, replacement of the whole thing including softener seems wasteful.

Hi, I have Bosch Serie 8 with IDOS. On the 'Quilt' wash setting, the detergent and fabric softener settings are a little confusing, as it double-beeps when I try to select the detergent degree of soiling or the fabric softener level. Does this mean that it automatically adds detergent and fabric softener? Or does this mean I have to manually add washing detergent to the left-hand detergent / fabric softener drawer? Does it also mean that there is no way I can add fabric softener when washing my quilt on the quilt setting (i.e. if I add detergent to the left-hand compartment of the pull-out drawer, there is no other place to put the fabric softener separately, and I can't select the fabric softener setting as mentioned above)?

The only troubleshooting for that error is to make sure the detergent draw is completely inserted. If this is definitely done then a service call would be needed.

Thank you. I have a Bosch wan22120AU 7.5kg. The blue insert says liquid only and takes up the whole left compartment. When I took the blue insert out I could see the II meaning powder goes in here. Any thoughts on this? Many thanks

I rang up Bosch for this question, and still haven’t got an answer. For IDOS- how many mls does it actually dispense? For the 1,2 and 3 bars?? So I’m looking at the liquid detergent section to decide on one and try the IDOS (coz I normally manually dispense powder) some liquids have a normal load at 75ml and some have it at 100ml- what does the machine dispense??? If it’s less or more than the factory settings than I’ll have to change it - which the manual tells me how to do.

The reason you haven't gotten a specific answer is because there isn't one. It's not a specific amount. Special sensors detect the load weight and fabric type and even the degree of soiling in the automatic programs so that your laundry is washed with the optimal amount of detergent. The 1,2 and 3 bars is an indication to the sensors that the laundry is either lightly, normal or heavily soiled so they a bit more or a bit less than what the sensors indicate.

The iDOS light for conditioner continually flashes indicating that the conditioner has run out and needs to be refilled. However, the light permanently flashes even when conditioner has been fully topped up. I regularly give the iDOS system a good clean. This makes no difference to the problem. Conditioner is being dispensed.

Each cycle will only use one type of detergent. As per your user manual the other i-Dos compartment is for fabric softener. They will both be used in the one cycle if intelligent dosing is selected. The third, left compartment is for manual dosing and needs to be filled each cycle and settings would need to be adjusted to use it.
