DO NOT BUY!!! Poor Quality

published

This machine had its power board die after 4 years. Cost approx 80% of the purchase price to repair. Will not buy Bosch again. Also the door handle is terrible- it broke several times. I do not recommend this product. Very disappointing after attempting to buy a good quality brand and paying a decent amount 4 years ago.

BOSCH WAS24460AU Beware Of Bosch PCB

published

Washing machine itself has been good until now (Have replaced two handles but wasn't too expensive)!!!
5 years old and it has lost all power.

I called a repairer who informed me that this model is nothing but problems. We are a small young family and just cannot afford to buy a new washing machine or replace a PCB or module for $700. I don't know who to call or email to help...can someone recommend the best process for me?

Will BOSCH still support me as I have no heard anything back from them.

I have a matching dryer which is fantastic but has me worried it will die a day after 5yrs is up.

Washes well but crappy release handle.

published

Does a great wash, lots of options and eco too.
The machines con is it has a very poorly designed opening handle. Just a flimsy plastic tab on the seemingly large strong handle. Broken 2. $50 a piece from ebay. Not a good enough design for a pretty expensive machine. Could've bought 3 fully optioned machines for the same money. We didn't though because we thought the design would be strong....

Worst machine ever

Don't buy one!!! The handle on these machines locks after a dry cycle and wont open for hours and hours. Impatient guests will pull the door handle too hard after waiting for hours to get their clothes out and will break it. There is a plastic tab which snaps off with any amount of force. Bosch will know of this problem but has done nothing to help us. We bought 7 of these machines and are bitterly disappointed,

Front loaders are the way to go

Very happy with this machine. The staining of the rubber seal is disappointing on a brand that has such a high profile. I am replacing the seal for aesthetic purposes( I am told it is a mould stain even though we wipe out and leave the door open) Quote on new seal is $143 with a service charge to make a total of $209. Does not include initial call out fee of $85 to look at issue. $294 total. Expected better from this brand.

Piece of garbage. Cheap plastic parts. Never buy BOSCH BRAND AGAIN!!!

published

Lock mechanism broke and not able to open door to get washing out. Cheap plastic inside and bad customer service over the phone. Service call costs $80 and every $8 labour every six minutes. Metal lock is secured with very tiny peace of weak plastic. Such poor design and manufacturing.

Terrible - 4 years old and has stopped working

published

This machine was working fine until today. Now it has no power and I can not open the door to get my clothes out. I have tried the door release lever and it is not working. I suspect the no power issue is the PCB board like so many other reviews. Do not buy this model.

I must say, Bosch have stood by their product and they have today replaced the main PCB board for free which is good to see.

A rubbish from a rubbish brand

published

We purchased Bosch WAS24460AU three years ago with cash-back option. At first, Bosch never replied my e-mail regarding to cash-back offer and I received nothing. Now, after 3 years of minor usage, rubber seal is broke and water is leaking out. Same again, no reply from Bosch.Don't waste your money!

3 Years old and sounds like a jet plane is taking off

Purchased front loader from appliances on line for $998.00 May 2013 after reading good reviews, well Jan 2015 spent $223.00 to fix locked door which apparently wasn't covered by warranty. Now I've been advised it will cost $99 call out fee plus $22 each 10 mins plus bearings at $120 for 3 If that's is the problem so a min of $350. So do I fork out more money or buy new machine every 3 years.....................??????? NOT HAPPY WITH BOSCH

A poor quality product

published

Do not touch this machine, we have had our 4 2.5 years only in a 2 person household, so gets used maybe once a week, lock mechanism broke and we had to have it replaced and the drum spider has now broken and the repair would cost half of buying a new machine. Of course they only give you a 2 year warranty and all starts going wrong at the 2 year mark.

Same problems as everyone else, its rubbish

A sadly consistent story - blown PCB. About $800 to fix plus $140 to tell us that the PCB that had gone. Its 4 years old and already cost us $400 for a replacement door 18 months ago. Bought a new washing machine today; not a Bosch nor made in China as is the WAS24460Au.

Piece of junk

published

Started poorly when the manufacturer didn't even bother to bolt down the stabilizer and so banged around for a month with bosch service team telling me I hadn't installed the machine properly. It was a good machine after this until I for the pcb power failure. It's only a couple of years old. It's a disgrace to spend 700 to fix a new machine. Bosch should have some responsibility to fix this.

Loved my machine until today!

published

I really did love this machine. I washed all day yesterday and attempted to wash one more load this morning. The machine simply will not power on. The power point works fine as I tested it with another appliance. The washer just wont start. Very annoyed. Why do these things happen on a Saturday morning. I now have to wait till Monday.

Just wanted to say Bosch were great at sorting out my issue. I now have a working washing machine and I'm hoping it will last at least another five years.

Our door won’t open on our washing machine (model #WAS24460AU). It also often takes longer to finish a cycle than the original time shown on display. Are there ways to fix these issues or is it time for a new machine? It’s about 7years old

Hi Hayley,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAS24460AU.
There would be ways to ix those issues but without a service call we would not be able to advise what it might cost and comparing that to the cost of a new appliance would probably determine your course of action.
If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744.

thank you. This was a historical question. My washing machine, WAS24460AU, has worked for almost 7 years before a service was required. THIS IS PRETTY GOOD. As the replacement of 2 parts was to be very expensive I am replacing it now with another new Bosch machine. I have only just learnt that most are now made in China.
