Good thus far
Only had washer a week and used twice. Washes well and produces good results on the clothes. First front loader after 30 years of top loaders and am quite happy with the results. A little disappointed to see a 'made in China" sticker on the back but isn't everything these days. Only time will tell how long it lasts
Washes well, Plenty of program choices. Easy to use
Little bit noisy. Nothing so far

Died after only 12 months!
I purchased the machine in August 2012. Loved it, It worked perfectly for exactly 12 months 2 days. One would expect a washing machine of this price point would last longer than that, before be expected to pay for a technician to attend. Well I have purchased a replacement which is NOT a BOSCH. Never again. My previous LG lasted many many years and I expect my replacement proves just as reliable
Usability and cleanliness of clothes
Only last 12 months - not what you we expect from BOSCH

This is our first front loader washing machine, after our Samsung top loader died after 19 years of service.
***Front loader vs. top loader.***
We were split over whether to go top loader or front loader, and a factor that seems to come up on this decision is that we have two young messy kids. We were nearly swayed towards a top loader because the controls are up high and out of reach of little hands, being able to add clothes after the cycle had started, and because of the simplicity of the machine (possibly reducing the risk of it brea...Read more

sh 60 cycle, and have found it washes incredibly well. Clothes come out much brighter than our past top loader, although this may also be because our top loader was very old. The weight is something I do think about particularly as it spins up to 1200 rpms, but so far I haven't had any problems. We have washed many towels without any problems, although once spun at 1200 rpms they tend to feel a bit 'stiffer' than when we use to wash our towels in our front loader. Reducing the spin to 800 or 1000 rpm fixes that though. You mention the child lock only works during a program, but does it cover the power button while the cycle is going ? Ours doesn't & the 2yo isn't receptive to the idea of playing with everything except the power button.

New Machine
I have just purchased a new machine. I have one question. The washing detergent has three symbols 1,
11 and what looks like a fan. Which one is for the detergent and which one is for the fabric soft.....
I would appreciate some feedback on this as I don't want to damage the machine in any way.
Loving it

Fantastic machine
After getting 11 years out if my last Bosch washing machine (average 2 loads per day in last 5 yrs!) I had the opportunity to get a new one, the other was still going strong so passed it on to someone else. This new machine is very quiet, easy to use and does an excellent job of getting things clean. It has great range of cycles and gives you plenty of control over the cycle with options you can alter. After I turned down the beeper that signals end of the cycle, I am absolutely thrilled with this machine. You can even stop and open the machine...Read more

OK washing machine - appalling service
The machine is ok - did what it said on the box. However within a year the bearings died making the washing machine as noisy as a lawn mower! Dealing with Bosch to get this fixed is enough to make me regret buying this machine. In fact the possibility of dealing with Bosch ever again is enough to convince me to never, ever, buy another Bosch product.
After a lot of frustration thank goodness that Winning Appliances replaced the washer with another brand - goodbye Bosch, good riddance!
When works, does what you expect from a washing machine.
Machine died within a year, Bosch service is horrible.

i'm sorry to here about the experiance you had with Bosch if you could kindly contact me via email at [email protected] so that we can have a chat regards to this matter.
many thanks
I responded and emailed Michael - and In typical Bosch style no response after a week. Michael - if Bosch was actually sorry for the experience you could at least have the decency to follow up on your offer of contact. Again, Appalling service.

Great machine
This machine has been fantastic so far. It is quiet and offers many options in terms of cycles. One of the best things is that you can open the door after it has started when you find that sock that you left out! It has done a very good job of getting things clean.
You can open the door after it has started, does a good job.
The Eco ratings are based on the Eco cycle, which takes 3-4 hours!

Money well spent. Heaps better than our old washer.
Wanted to buy something that was good quality but didn't cost a fortune. At $1145 including delivery this seems to be a good value deal compared to the next step up which are the European made washers starting at $1500 for a base model Asko. Was a bit hesitant to go with a Chinese made machine because we want it to last a long time, but hopefully it's been made with decent specifications and so will stand the test of time and live up to the Bosch reputation.
Was a bit worried about reviews of similar models with people complaining about a no...Read more
isy spin cycle. It's got a bit of a high pitched whirl but nothing that's unreasonable for a machine that spins up to 1200rpm. And others have complained that the door seal collects water but I think most washers will do that (except for the Askos), it's not a real problem and you can wipe the water away if you want. Others have also said they've had trouble with the buttons - they are touch sensitive, you don't actually push them - so it's not very tactile but they're easy enough to get used to. Most of all, I'm very impressed with how the fast spin cycle will get the clothes much drier than our previous crappy machine. And it's nice and big - it will easily service a family! So a very happy purchaser! fast spin, seems to be good quality, handles big loads easily, energy and water efficient, quiet. Too many wash program options - there are so many it's almost confusing which one to use. Don't really like the 'touch' style buttons but that's a matter of preference.Similar opinion? Brilliant
We bought this machine after a fair bit of research. This model is made in China and a step down from the 8kg Bosch models made in Germany, which were too expensive for us (one was $1500 and the other was $2500). The Bosch models below the model we bought are from Thailand.
It comes with 2 yr warranty but we extended it for another 3 yrs for $149.
Apparently the Samsung, LG and Electrolux front loaders are pretty good value too but from my research, Bosch seemed to have a good reputation so we spent a bit extra.
It's a great machine. ...Read more
It's quiet and cleans the clothes well (we use Omo front loader detergent). It has a child lock which is handy as we have a 2 year old son who loves to push buttons. All in all, we're very happy with it. Quiet, cleans clothes well, child lock, good variety of programs None so farSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Truly Dreadful Service
Bosch seems to think that it is okay for customers to wait 4 weeks for a minor part (the door handle) needed to fix our machine. The washer door suddenly wouldn't open (the machine is under warranty). Bosch was waiting for delivery of the part, but has done absolutely nothing to speed up the process. They wouldn't air freight it in...and after the normal shipment did arrive it has taken two weeks to get through their warehouse processes. We hope it will be fixed next week. I will never every buy another Bosch product, and hope this review saves other readers from making the same mistake.
Washing choices good
Dreadful Service, and can't turn off the buzzer

This review/rating seems more about Bosch service than the machine. Understand that they must have been frustrating to deal with but what about the washing machine itself?

Great Machine Lousy Service
I was so happy with my machine for 2 months. Then all of a sudden it didn't work. I am still waiting 1 month after it broke down to have my machine fixed. Bosch have been very unhelpful and just keep telling me the part will be available next week. That was 4 weeks ago and it's still not available. I think they should have replaced the machine if they couldn't supply the part to fix it in a reasonable time (my definition of reasonable would be 1 week). Disgusting service for a top brand product only 2 months old. If it was still working I would say it was a great washing machine.
Washes well, easy to use.

A dream machine!
Bought this one from Appliances Online - and it's been a dream to use - quiet operation although it does beep quite a few times when the load is done, but our laundry is outside the house so it's not an issue for us.
Great spin cycle and clothes don't take as long to dry.
I'd really recommend this machine.
Energy and water efficient - wide range of cycle options inc. 15 min express wash

Our door won’t open on our washing machine (model #WAS24460AU). It also often takes longer to finish a cycle than the original time shown on display. Are there ways to fix these issues or is it time for a new machine? It’s about 7years old

Hi Hayley,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAS24460AU.
There would be ways to ix those issues but without a service call we would not be able to advise what it might cost and comparing that to the cost of a new appliance would probably determine your course of action.

thank you. This was a historical question. My washing machine, WAS24460AU, has worked for almost 7 years before a service was required. THIS IS PRETTY GOOD. As the replacement of 2 parts was to be very expensive I am replacing it now with another new Bosch machine. I have only just learnt that most are now made in China.
