What would Harvey Norman cairns store charge to have a lounge suite delivered to Clifton Brach?

You would have to get in contact with the store to see where they deliver and if they have in stock and how long before you get it, I don't work for Harvey Norman but was enquiring myself when I was in a store to buy a lounge suite, and was surprised at the time I had to wait for that lounge suite was 6-8 weeks, each one could be different and you could ask them if allowed if you could find your own freight if you preferred, hope this helps, have great day

Hi,
About 9 months ago I purchased almost 2k in monster speakers etc and paid cash. We had one faulty one and I am so far yet to find the receipt. Technically it should be on the computer system as I had to give my name and address for the purchase. After visiting the store, the lady proceeds to tell me that none of my purchases are on file! It seems a bit fishy to me that when I paid 2k cash and my receipt was printed off, what's to stop the staff member going in and canecelling the transaction and pockets 2k? What are your thoughts on this?? Cheers Seona

It's possible. I think that if you went back without too much time passing then they certainly should have it in their transaction history. The guy who owns it isn't a customer focused person which isn't the best thing considering he needs customers to survive so it's possible that money suddenly went missing, wouldn't put it past him. Just my opinion though. Probably needs to recoupe the cost of the other half spending money on her mayor campaign, oh wait! That's right...used tax payers money instead!

1) Find your bank statement, I hope you used a card (VISA/MasterCard) proof of transaction. Then 2) go back to them knowing you d have proof. 3) Read this two links
https://www.accc.gov.au/business/treating-customers-fairly/offering-warranties/warranties-against-defects AND https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/repair-replace-refund. 4) I would also notify the card issuing body/bank et al. and also consider a claim against your Visa/Mastercard they usually have complimentary protection.

Least that's what I woudl do! Good luck.

Seona, from my experience, not all Harvey Norman stores are connected. They are simply all individually franchised. Are you sure you went to the original store to look for your transaction? If this wasn't the store you purchased from, they will not be able to see you transaction history. The best thing to do, would be contact all Harvey Norman stores and give them your details, they will be able to find your proof of purchase.

Can I get refund on the product care plan I bought for a computer last week? Can I do it online? I think I do not need it anymore.

You actually never needed it. Extended warranties are a scam and should have been outlawed long ago. As are 12 month warranties.

Australian Consumer Law stipulates that you should expect a reasonable service life from a product (warranty periods aside). Just because your $2500 computer has a 12 month warranty doesn't mean you need an extended warranty to cover anything beyond that. If it breaks down 18 months in, the law is on your side.

I don't work for Harvey Norman so can't really answer your question. It is not unusual, however, for some items to be "flat packed" ... Ikea is a good example ... irrespective of the retailer. This should have been mentioned to you prior to purchase. If not, I would suggest you speak to the manager of the store. Hope this helps

Depending on the style of lounge, it is usual for the legs to be put on after delivery by the customer. If its a reclining type lounge, usually the customer just had to click it together. Its really not hard. If the lounge were to be delivered with the legs on, it could get damaged in the delivery truck. I have shopped for a lot of furniture, and found Harvey Norman to be one of the best stores to get furniture from. Just imagine if you were shopping at Ikea. Everything needs assembly there.

Does Harvey Norman fix blue screen of death?

2 answers
Kotadiatu
Kotadiatu

Blue screen of death is a software fault, and is generally easily remedied by either factory reformatting the computer, or installing a backup that didn't have the issue.
As software faults are easily remedied, HN will likely charge for the service if you bring it in to be reimaged. Manufacturer would do it for you if it's within warranty, but it will take a few weeks.
My best recommendation is head to a tech forum such as toms hardware, post an error report to the forums and some of the members will guide you through the steps of undoing the damage without reformatting the computer.

There are a few avenues. In short, yes they can fix it. You will be charged. It would take about 2-5 hours to fix properly without losing you data.

(The views I have expressed do not represent those of Harvey Norman, seek guidance from store of purchase)

Try pushing the recovery
option key? It only tells you the correct key
during blue screen mode.
Then choose non destructive recovery
wait till it puts everything back to as new.
if on the other hand you choose destructive
recovery, back all your data up either option.

And have a great today!

can i cancel my 4 years extended warranty?
before that staff never tell me that need to pay for extra extended warranty
after that when i sigh up

i think it is costly because i am still a students

1 answer

Kotadiatu

It depends when the extended warranty was purchased. If it was in a reasonable amount of time, and you feel you were mislead by the Sales staff, call in to enquire and you will generally get a prompt response. Depending whether the price was a package deal, you may not be able to get separate pricing and a refund.

The only reason I can think of, that a Harvey Norman Official hasn't answered your question is.........................
It's sort of like asking a bank what time the armoured truck picks up and delivers cash each day.
Hope you understand my jest !.

Admin staff will generally wear the same uniform as the sales staff (blue collared shirt), without the exception of occasionally wearing a promotional polo shirt.
I work for Harvey Norman for reference.

Why do Harvey Norman franchisees and staff lie to customers? Is business so bad that you have to scam people out of their hard earned money? I bought an air conditioner on the 31/12/15 on the provision that it would be installed within the next 7 days, why did it take 2 weeks to install? I paid $845 for installation which included removing the old unit, why did you not provide the service I paid for? Why was the old unit not removed?
Why did you say there was a $200 efpos card with the deal you talked me into then not send me the $200 card, just a receipt saying "to be posted." Then why do you have the audacity to say "you will look into it" when in reality you intend to do nothing? My $200 efpos card has been in the post since 31/11/15 and still has not arrived. Do you have an explanation for that?

Hi Judy. I'm a Grumpy Old Man that's almost 70 and have no affiliation with Harvey Norman however, I couldn't help but read in to your complaints.

I come from a Engineering Technical background and if you don't mind, I'll try and clarify your issues in point order from a buyers perspective and someone with 40+ years of customer service experience before retirement 3 years ago.

First, buying 31 December - well, I think everyone in Australia knows that just about every business except retail was closed until the 4th, 11th & 18th January 2016. To expect an install of a large item, such as an air-con unit by 7th Jan16, would plainly be, expecting too much.
Second, Terminology in any contract is at the detriment of the person whom does not read it - Supply, install and remove is exactly that - if you want the old unit disposed of which I'm guessing is what you refer to, you would need to pay extra and if the word "dispose" is not mentioned, its not included.
Third, Your $200 EFTPOS card has not been in the post since 31/12/15 - as with most business and even large corporates like Harvey Norman, their head offices or subcontracted agencies that issue the $200 bonus cards would not be open until 4th, 11th or 18th Jan16, they would then need approx. 10 days to process the card and about 5 days for postage, so its likely you would receive your $200 EFTPOS card early to mid February 2016.

These days, more and more people fall fowl to their own expectations because, they simply don't read the contracts they enter in to.
What one expects and one receives will always be two different things and blaming someone else for ones lack of time to read a contract is...."silly as".

I hope my explanation appeases your concerns but if not, please feel free to abuse me as well.

Judy

Dear Grumpy old man YOU HAVE COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT....... THEY LIED TO GET MY BUSINESS !!!! what you say albeit incorrect is well and good but I am just repeating what they told me to get my business . I had no expectations apart from them doing what they said they would. And more to the point what you are saying is based purely on assumptions I WAS THERE IT HAPPENED TO ME This was MY experience with Harvey Norman I am just letting people know how they treated ME .
They have an extremely low rating and people have made lots of negative posts so I am sure I am not the only angry and unhappy Harvey Norman customer
