S26 Alula Original Newborn Questions & Answers

Hello... it is very good for baby. I used it from the beginning and now my bub is 9 months.. you can try s26 gold as well it is better than original but it depends on baby. My baby didn't like it so I went back to original. Highly recommend

Hi.. may be this is helpful for you. Why don't you try s26 gold formula that taste like breastmilk. I try to fed my bub gold but she didn't like it from the start she had a normal formula that's why. Give a try to gold one ... hopefully this will help you.

They have just rebranded the packaging

Yes I heard this as well and was beside myself but after contacting the company it is true they are only rebranding the packaging. So take a deep breath, you can rest!!

The rebranded product smells completely different to the original so they have 100% changed something as well as saying it now needs to be prepared with lukewarm water!

In my opinion, Yes... Truth be known, you may want to check the ingredients list on all the ones you are considering.

I used this alongside breastfeeding and with my oldest (now 3) it was easy to give her (sometimes I added pumped milk to fully made formular)
I chose it mostly because it was the same as the hospitals and it is made in New Zealand (Quality control thing)
and my youngest tried karicare first and didn't seem to like it to much so I switched.

S26 original. I have been told by an experienced midwife that all the gold formulas are excessively marketed..and we are being made too think that baby is getting all these additional vitamins/minerals..that its more a marketing tactic - and that most of the "extras" in the gold formulas passes as waste anyways and doesn't all get digested or absorbed in baby's tummy. Thats why some babies have such a hard time digesting formulas as their tiny tummies struggles to break things down as they slowly develop. SHE advised to give baby a formula that is easy on the tummy, bwibg S26 original. so I stuck to her advice.. and started with s26 original that the hospital provided/used. I used this brand for all three kids and would not fault it..couldn't rate it highly enough... my 3rd baby has been on S26 original since she was born when it was manufactured in Singapore. She took to that very well and everyone complimented me on how much of a perfect baby she was up until we purchased our first tin of the New Zealand made one (at 3 months old). and it did not agree with her at all. she started being constipated.. her poo went from mustard yellow to a dark green and foul smelling.. she was squirming a lot... wouldn't sleep the full 4 hours like she was before.. would be very unsettled..not driking all her milk..and spewing up alot and I mean alot. projectile vomiting to be precise. I was suddenly very frustrated and was really disappointed with the slight changes they made to this really great formula that I've used as my number one choice. my daughter also tried the S26 Gold and she didn't like the taste. It smells like metal. However i know of other babies that absolutely love it and have no issues & are thriving :) so just depends on ur bub :) now i have my bub on Nan Comfort and the spewing & squirming stopped..long sleeps and wind comes up easily! :) smiles all round. so glad I quickly found a good replacement based on researching and reading reviews. I followed up with mums whose babies displayed the same symptoms as my daughter and asked them what formula they changed to and what worked best for their babies.. I was recommended quite a few but really liked the reviews for Nestle Nan Comfort and im so happy with the product. Main thing for me is that baby is healthy happy and eating sleeping well. Lou I think the problem with eyes and nose is unrelated and perhaps you should seek medical advice. The rest of symptoms belly pain poop, etc. were what I experienced with my daughter and we changed formula as it wasn't settling down. Sorry can't be of any more help.

We've just started on one of the new recipe tins too and it's turned my little guy's poo dark green and a little frothy. If it keeps up, we'll have to try some others.

My son got a lot of bad wind pain from the S26 formula I changed him over to Karicare with no issues hope this helps

I have not tried gold but I have been told the original is better. Slot of Babies (especially younger) tend to find it hard to break down the gold formulas. That was the case for my son

Im not sure about in the US. But you may be able to get it online from Australia. My son has moved up to Stage 2 of this product and is still good for him.

Hi, I would call the s-26 Care line which will be on the tin. I call them with any questions and they are amazing. They have really help when I have changed from stage - to 2 tin. :)

You need to check with your child health nurse or your doctor.

I know of a mum that had a daughter with special dietary requirements and was advised by their doctor to stay on newborn formula for a very long time. i wouldn't think it's compulsory. However, it is recommended that babies start solid food at age of 6 months so their dietary requirement change, hence the formula will be formulated to suit the babies growing need. i changed the formula from newborn to Progress for my two babies. No harm was done.
Like others said, if you are concerned, consult your doctor.

I'm no expert, But S26 original 1 worked for my son after trying many formulas, I was reluctant to change him to the s26 step 2 progress cause I knew/had a feeling my son would be too sensitive (casein dominant, keeps them fuller) so I suspected he wouldn't tolerate it.
I kept him on the original newborn closer to 7 months cause I was scared to swap him but decided to swap to a different brand.
Blogs say you can keep them with the newborn formula until 12 months and I even contacted the hotline to confirm it.
But it was my choice to go to follow on as I wanted my son to get the most nutrition in case he would become a fussy with food.
I settled for A2 Platinum stage 2 follow on, its been now 6 weeks and he tolerated it well so far, I chose it because the ratios of whey/casein appealed to me and apparently a2 milk is more gentle. I hope you can make the right decision. I recommend to contact the S26 for yourself to ask those questions so you feel more confident with your choice.

hi...i am also not sure if i want to change the milk from s26 newborn original to s26 progress. my baby is six months old.....
is it compulsory to change the milk.. in my country i only can buy s26 newborn original and progress. SMA is also available but i have been advised by doctor not to give SMA coz it is not good compared to s26 original.
Please advise me on the difference between s26 newborn original and progress and its nutrion benefits to the baby
