Midgees
I bought this to catch midgees, it work great for the little bast…..

An absolute load of rubbish ridiculously noisy device. can't be used because of the noise.

This machine is almost completely silent which was a big draw card for us. We've only had it running for a day so I can't comment on durability or longevity of the product but I can certainly say that it works! We've had a serious problem with mosquitos at our semi rural property due to wet weather, ponds etc. After running the machine for 20hrs the catcher tray was FULL. It would have caught hundreds if not a thousand mosquitos overnight (unfortunately it also drowned about 100 moths). There has been a noticeable absence of mosquitos around the house today and it feels much safer for my infant children.

Caught heaps of bugs on the first night of holidays. We got this because our dog was being attacked by mosquitos at night and would bark to be let inside, he didn’t make a sound while this was on.
Money well spent!!

Great Result After Only A Few Days
Excellent results after only using it for a few days. Also purchased a Mosquito attractant and have caught hundreds of mosquitoes AND heaps of moths. Doesn't work so well in the daytime as the bright sun reduces the impact of the bulb. Also catches hundreds of very small insects that look like flys ( Maybe recently hatched flys). Interesting though it attracts Frogs and Praying Mantis who feast on the flying insects in the area of the catcher. Very pleased with my purchase. PS. Not suitable for hanging as it is reasonably heavy and any sway will spill water.

Bought one of these yesterday - midgees, mossies making life unbearable, even in a screened house. Really worked and both dog and myself had peaceful night sleep without need to cover in bug spray. Early days but wish they had solar or battery model as it covers 1/2 acre and would be ideal for garden where no power

The Bugvac works very well, fill the tray with water and a few drops of detergent so the surface tension of water is broken. The Mozzies and flies (at night) attracted to the light are sucked in by the fan into the water and drown quickly, almost silently except a slight fan noise. If the zapping ones are too loud it's worth a try. Cheers.

Sensational - Pet friendly, too
I personally hate mosquitoes (sorry mosquitoes!) and I also dislike having to apply mosquito repellant on my body just to be able to enjoy myself outdoors, of an evening, without getting bitten. And, to make things more challenging again - it turns out my beloved dog also “dislikes” the sound of bugs being zapped on a big zapper. . . Almost sends the poor sweetheart into cardiac arrest!!
But thankfully, the Yard Guard has been both my own (and my beloved pooch’s) saving grace. It is quiet (no zapping noise), it is effective and it also does an
It's not a fly killer!
Can someone give me a clue? I have tried, since receiving the bug vac, for 3 days to catch a fly. To no avail, they fly around on my covered in deck oblivious to the bug vac.

Do not buy
Insects find their way in behind the glass and will choke the blower . Poor design. No mesh to prevent it. Too bad cant show pics of mine that i pulled appart with the bugs in the electrical, blower engine and behind tube glass.
This device really works
I purchased on about 2 years ago, and like others I noted when it was outside it caught a lot of moths as well as mosquitos, However inside is where this device is exceptional....I even do a mosquito count each day, and notice there are hardly any moths captured, I am owner building my house on Russell Island in Queensland (a well know mosquito and midge problem location) and while it is being built I am living in the garage so plenty of entry points for the annoying insects... Thanks to the Bug Vac I have almost stopped using sprays and coils which are not good for your health.. Highly recommended
Chemical Free Indoor Insect Trap
I've had the Bug Vac Flying Insect Trap running for about 4 hours inside, as for some reason I have had a marked increase in midges (non-biting) in my house over the last two months. The midges were annoying, so much so I would spray an entire room with insect spray, then find the midges have returned 30 minutes later.
With the Insect Trap running I have only seen two midges, the water tray has around 15-20 caught already. The fan which blows the insects down into the water trap is audible which is why I haven't given it the full 5 stars, but

Great Indoor Insect Trap
I've had this for five years and have just replaced the tube for the first time ($16).. It's not really suitable for outdoors because, as noted by another reviewer, it mainly catches moths.
I use it indoors to catch the biting midges that find their way into the house, and it's brilliant for that. It will also catch any flies, mossies or other flying insects that are around.
I can totally recommend this product for anyone annoyed by midges.
Useless and expensive it never caught a mosquito
This unit is absolutely useless for killing mosquitoes we ran it for 3 months and all it ever caught where beneficial garden bugs ie small moths I felt quite bad for killing them. It is expensive. The globes do not last long and are also expensive.
It's available at Bunnings and office works also online under the name of Bugeater by bugkiller.
Questions & Answers
light wont operate and replaced globe
Purchased this today and my question is ....Do I leave this device on 24/7 ?
Thanks
G'day, it can be left on all the time, I've left mine on for weeks but do pull the tray out to empty rinse and refill weekly when its inside, more regularly when outside due to larger insects.I do top it up every couple days due to evaporation when the weathers hot. Cheers.
Thank you !
