Rubbish website!
Due to COVID-19, Japan block postage to oversea, but they refuse to extend buyee points expiry date. Walk away from this company, there are other site much better than this.

Great for general things!
I've been using Buyee for around 3 years now. Never a big issue. Bought a lot of stuff over the years, car parts, clothes, models as well as some vinyl records. Never had a thing arrive damaged other than what was already advertised in each auction. The protective packaging is usually very tight, however when consolidating packages, the final package ends up being massive which eats into the shipping price. Speaking of, the shipping can be quite high at times, although I do not fault them for the high shipping price as that is determined by the...Read more
courier company, it would be nice if the package consolidation and package protection took this into account to try to minimise shipping prices as feasibly as possible. I feel the packages could be more tightly packed with the protection in place, therefore lowering the volume weight. On every auction Buyee will take a service fee as well as an optional plan fee (A combination of package inspection when it arrives at the warehouse and insured delivery from the seller to the warehouse). These service fees can stack up, especially the plans as if you got insured delivery, the delivery to the warehouse would be much higher than expected and you'll be charged that after winning your bid. You end up racking up fees very quickly and with the high price of shipping, I generally have to buy many things over a month to make my worth. Buying an item for 2000yen can very quickly be 3000yen + extra shipping to their warehouse + taxes. However, they do have frequent promotions for these fees, just last month the service fee on Yahoo Auctions was waived in full for the whole month of March. I think during those times, its best to take advantage of it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great service to find and receive treasures in Japan
Started scouring Japan's Yahoo Auction via Buyee and was able to find the figures I've been looking for. After winning a couple of auctions though, I learned that I still had to pay for the shipping from the seller to Buyee's warehouse. This can add up to a large amount if you're not careful, so I suggest always checking what the shipping fees are in the description. However, since Buyee was doing a promotion to cut service fees, it felt balanced out. During the times I had questions for things like shipping and fees, contacting Buyee's customer service is great as they responded within a day for most of my inquiries.

Regular user of buyee here and never been disappointed
I've been buying some clothes from this site. Promotions in buyee are quite reasonable and quite generous. i.e. free international shipping fee promotion. Customer services were quick and responsive. I am looking forward to more promotions that can decrease the international shipping fee. So far, they have never failed me with any orders and I have used their services more than 10 times. The products I have bought were represented well prior to the purchase so I always got what I expected.

I will recommend Buyee most of the time
Been using Buyee for years now, as I usually have parcels coming from japan on a regular basis.
Tried other forwarder previously but due to Japan Post changes (no longer delivery parcel with high alco content) which only leaves DHL as one of the few carriers, it makes Buyee almost the sole forwarder provider to me as they deal with DHL efficiently.
I have read reviews regarding problem other runs into, I suppose this is also a cultural thing.
Japanese are really efficient and by the book people, they stick to the rule tightly but when somethin...Read more

Overseas user of Buyee
As many retailers in Japan don't accept o/s credit cards, this is the best way to find, purchase, and post my items, most of which are collectable. There are websites to buy from if you are a local Japanese, but Buyee makes it possible for me to purchase, locally post, and then Buyee posts o/s to me. All my items arrive in a timely manner and safe, with great packaging. The inspection service is handy too for certain items.

Cheap can end up being very expensive. Buyer beware when buying "bargains" from Buyee.
Want that Gundam or some other unique Japanese item direct from sellers in Japan? Buyee is the place. It is a proxy service so you can bid on items from Japanese auction sites like Yahoo Auctions Japan and online stores such as Rakuten. The selection of items is definitely endless. The problem is the costs involved. Buyee offers a service so there are fees payable. Typically, they start at around 500 yen for the basic service. Once an item arrives at their warehouse, they will let you know and they will provide about six postage options to send...Read more
items to you. The problem is domestic shipping from the seller to the buyee warehouse within Japan. This information is not clear or non-existent regarding the cost. If a heavy item is purchased, this could end up being tens of thousands of yen which the buyer (you) need to pay. All of a sudden, the bargain item ends up being very expensive sometimes more than buying in your own home country. End of the day, buyers need to be aware of that bargain in Japan can end up being very, very expensive. Buyer beware!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Long time Buyee user
I have used buyee for several years to get many different products. I think many people simply do not know how to use it. If you want full protection of your products you must purchase with a plan. It is then best to wait and consolidate many packages together as this brings the international shipping fee down overall. Yes the fees are high and they add up fast, but you are buying from another country and the items need to be warehoused, packed and shipped.

Very Poor Customer Support
NOT RECOMMENDED for collector items or even just books. There are just two options: EITHER you send the package in the standard packaging, which is fine for national shipping, but inappropriate for international shipping. So the goods often arrive overseas with damage. OR you can select (expensive) protective packaging and have your package so overly protective packed and with so much wasted plastic and material, that it just blows up the shipping costs.
And don't even get me started on the customer "support".
They're all nice and friendly an...Read more
d I'm sure they're good people, but here's the thing: Very rarely do they understand what the actual problem is in the first message. Usually I had to explain my issue multiple times until they actually understood what needed to be done. As long as it all went well considering delivery and shipping, there were no problems (obviously), but as soon as problems occurred and I was dependent on their customer support to help me, I was left alone and had to pay for it. My package was sent back because I wasn't notified. I had to pay shipping costs a second time because Buyee refused to check with their carrier to request a refund of shipping costs, so I wouldn't have to pay twice.Similar opinion? The worst online Shopping Experience Ever !!!
Ordered SUV wheels on 27 Jan 2020, after paying a lot of fees and charges, the items were never delivered and no refund given, escalated the matter to VISA, a dispute case is in process.

Stay away
If there's a way to give no star I would rate it 0 or negative even. My first purchase was horrendous.
Tried to purchase a set of code for a game on this site through its "trusted" sellers. Got no working code but a bunch of storage fee, shipping fee. Tried going through them to resolve the matter, they are absolutely no help at all. They will not allow you to contact the seller or leave a rating for their seller, because - quoting from their response, "If we give a negative rating to a seller, there is a high possibility that the seller will a...Read more

Exactly what it says on the tin
I found buyee to be great for what was advertised. I used them to purchase a product only available in Japan at the time, and was able to do so for less than through other vendors or shipping companies. Shipping and handling costs are added to the price of the item, so it may be expensive for smaller or less valuable items, but I was happy to pay for the service

Hidden fees and unpleasant surprises
WARNING: You will likely end up feeling you’ve been fleeced!
Buyee’s website is complex to navigate and you will continue to discover new fees at every turn. If you end up paying less for shipping than the items cost, you’ve done well. Staff are inflexible and even when they make mistakes there are no refunds, no compensation, and no compromises or negotiation. Stay away unless you are willing and ready to throw buckets of money towards the land of the rising sun. Do NOT recommend. Oh, and my items themselves? Some arrived damaged as well. Sigh. Worst shipping forwarder I’ve ever dealt with.

Wish I can give Negative stars
Almost fraud. The worst company (transfer item from Japan) ever......I am incredibly disappointed at their service. They did not tell me how much is shipping combine or separate shipment until I finished payment.......After I finish payment, there are many cheaper options arise...plus you can NOT modify anything if you already paid. They do not have pre-confirmation page before payment.
I complained to customer service how come you cannot tell me how much I am paying for shipping (separately or individually or many other shipment option) but I...Read more

Stay away from BUYEE. What a rip off this site is. I wish I had looked at reviews prior to making a purchase. You cannot speak with anyone regarding your order. Two stupid lots of expensive shipping fees. Scammer alert.

Either the language barrier is too much of a struggle for Buyee, or they simply just dont care.
If you have issues with your items and need assistance, the customer support will not help or simply ignore you. I currently have an issue thats a few weeks old which i am still chasing once a week!
Its a shame, because otherwise a fairly good service.
