Does the job- just
This is cheapest oven on the market & it really shows. This oven takes a long time to warm up, inconsistent heat and if you’re trying to use more than two hot plates expect to lose heat (enough to ruin your cooking). That said, it’s better than lighting a fire outside or microwaving meals for life.
Purchased in February 2021.

Design Fault with Switches
The two Heat Control Switches of Chef Upright Cooker (Model: CFE547SA, failed. They don't regulate heat and getting stuck in full-heat position all the time! After the first switch failed within 2 years after purchase, we started using the second cook top which then failed exactly 2 years after use too! Now we use the third and fourth cookers sparingly and will throw away the whole thing if another switch/cooktop fails. It seems that the average life of a cook top switch is 2 years. The Electrolux Customer Service (represents Chef products) go...Read more
t back to me 40 days after I contacting them by email (they won't answer their phone -keep you on hold 20+ minutes) who then advised me to contact a local (Nerang) contractor because its outside warranty by now. Their contractor quoted me 1/4th the cost of a new unit ($300) to fix two switches!! These switches should not fail so quickly (each within 24 months of warranty) and the cost of replacement shouldn't be that excessive. Poor product quality and poor after purchase service. I will never consider any Electrolux product in the future.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Value for money
Small and simple design that still cooks our meals for a family of 5. Love the griller as you can close the door. Pretty easy to clean the cook top. easy to read dials. Sturdy racks in the oven. Cooks some of the best roasts we have done in an electric oven.

It is a basic product at a basic price
It's a good price point, great for putting in rentals. Pretty much indestructible. It cooks food what else do you want apart from the name value to show off to your friends, and make them jealous of your implied success, and conversely their failure. Brands are rally a way for modern society to mark territory

When using the ceramic hot plates lower than full heat they click on and off like a thermostat. Is this normal. I have looked in the manual that come with my stove and they say nothing regarding this. It happens when I turn the stove onto a lower heat to start. Can't get any answers anywhere else, Please help

Looks good but ceramic surface pitted immediately
I've had this stove for about 2-3 weeks. I purchased it because there is not a lot of choice in this width and I didn't want to change kitchen. I am happy with the look of the stove but the ceramic surface marked the first time I used the hotplate and I didn't even spill anything on it. Since then it has several pitted marks on the surface despite me carefully following all instructions on cleaning. Apart from that it is made from relatively cheap materials and does not really present a quality feel. The splashback is only slightly thicker t...Read more
han aluminium foil, it bends with just a light wipe of the surface. As for the performance, the oven heats reasonably quickly and evenly and the ceramic hotplates are as one can expect from any ceramic stovetop - quiet slow to respond to changes in temp, not very good at low heat as they just rely on the element turning on and off to control the heat. The look and it fit in my narrow space Ceramic stove top pitted, not very sturdy materials1 comment

glass door explodes within 4 weeks of purchase
purchased this oven for my mother four weeks ago & the internal glass pane has exploded during cooking. Hot glass fragments over the kitchen floor - was a foot away when it happened.
Company representatives are all very policy line on the matter. The technician given the job of assessing the mess obviously careful of admission of liability says it could be a week before the company head office make a decision..........

en a new replacement oven would inspire confidence at this point. Will be following the customer service angle closely on this as I'm in the branded appliance industry. Love supporting companies with excellent CS though those that don't need a little reminder.1 comment

After having this stove for a few months now I would rate it 2 stars. The griller tray is too close the the grilled element and is not adjustable so it's ok for some toast but anything thicker and it ... Read more
is likely to touch the element. You certainly cannot grill a lamb chop as they tend to curl up a bit. Asked the manufacturer if it could be fixed and they were not helpful. I might get new side drawer holders made up at a lower level so I can actually use the grill for something usefull. Also the stainless steel splash back is not only flimsy but is already showing signs of colours change due to heat coming out of vents.
