My move is to go a long distance to Perth WA. All pieces were packed securely and expediently. A whole Half house of furniture and personal effects. Including washer microwave and fridge. And a car!

Very happy with timely delivery and professionalism of Chess Moving
Our town house in Clifton Hill (Vic) was over 3 levels so lots of stairs and a large quantity of furniture and boxes. Our new home in New Norfolk (Tas) also had tricky stairs however this did not matter to the crew from Chess. Fuss free and nothing was too much trouble!

Worst service ever
I had to move my furniture from Sydney to Hobart. I was told it will take around 2 weeks so I send my furnitures and came to Hobart. I didnt get any information at all from them so I called after 3 weeks. The customer service was horrible. She was so rude and hangs up on me if I ask when can I expect my furniture to be delivered because she didnt know when my stuffs will arrive. I called them every week to check but same answer. I had to live in empty house more than a month, no fridge, no washing machine, microwave, bed or blanket even not muc...Read more
h clothes since I sent everything in a lot and I had only a suitcase with me. I had to spend on so many unnecessary items in order to servive. One day I got a call in the morning saying the furniture will arrive at 1 pm today. When I asked them if they can come after 2 pm since I was working they said I have to pay extra money just to delaying one hour. Ridiculous people. Anyhow I was happy that finally my stuffs are coming but when my furniture came it came in pieces. They didnt do any packaging at all, nor the cartoon for TV which they have charged me for ($100). My leather sofa got scratched, speaker broken into three pieces, ... oh what a mess. When I contact the office they just transfer my call here and there. The delivery guys just dumped our stuffs and left without giving any receipt or getting our signature. Cant believe it that just happened. I tried to contact the manager, no response. I never ever recommend these guys to anyone. Horrible experience ever. You guys are disgusted. Shame on you.

Cheapest Quote Best Service!
We recently moved from Tasmania to Victoria, we got 3 quotes and the lowest was Chess Removals. From the first enquiry we were confident we had done the right thing and it just got better from there. Office staff, excellent, Manager, excellent, Salesman, excellent, three men at either end of the move, excellent, we were delayed by 4 weeks, no extra charge! Excellent! We would highly recommend them for any moving requirements, nothing was a bother and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Damage done to house
Damage done to doorbell outside of house. Doorbell was WORKING when i left the movers to complete the move in my absence due to travel Arrangements.
My obvious explanation is it was damaged, however accidently, by the movers whilst removing my stuff.
Raised issue, received poorly worded email from manager [name removed] stating the movers were "too busy to notice if there was a doorbell"
And that "the doorbell looks to be 6" from the doorway & the movers would not need to go near it" despite access being up 6 or so stairs & onto a small porc...Read more

Absolutely recommend
I moved from Brisbane, QLD to Hobart, Tas in July. The quotation Chess gave was nearly $1500 cheaper than anyone else gave and was trouble free and spot on the money. The pick up was a breeze and the removalists really appreciated me giving a hand and were really careful with anything fragile.
I put my stuff in storage from mid July to the first week of September and had my good delivered today. They were on time, nothing broken and nothing but friendly and polite to my girlfriend who was home at the time to receive the goods as I was at work.
Cannot thank them enough for the easy and stress free move and would recommend them to anyone wanting to move interstate.

Terrible.
Big move, entire house from Hobart to Melbourne. Language was terrible with my 6 year old present. Had to ask they curb the language after one guy hurt himself and let the obscenities rip...Whilst loading my 60 Inch plasma in the the box, looked into the container and asked the guys to " please not stand on TV, it's just a box and the TV was extremely costly.

ew cot due to marks. Did I mention the $2500.00 fridge that was massively dented across the door ? oh and the bedroom side table smashed in front of me, ( they dropped it ) with it's entire contents across the nature strip. Moving is emotionally hard...having done it 7 times now. My experience in 2011 with CHESS was the worst I've ever experienced. I only hope they take feedback and have gotten better.1 comment
