I feel that after using Colgate plax mouthwash, the taste lingers in the mouth for a long time despite rinsing your mouth with water. I use the tea flavored one. So I am hesitant to swallow the saliva for a long time after I use the mouth wash which is quite inconvenient. Any suggestions?

You could try using them wooden sticks that them doctors use or buy some paddle pop sticks from the newsagents and rub your tongue with them or try spitting possibly in the sink

To be honest I never checked to see if Colgate plax range had any sugar contained in mouthwash - perhaps you could ring the Colgate hotline by calling directory assistance
Doubtful there are sugars as that would accelerate tooth decay and Colgate would have been busted by industry regulators a long time ago. If there is a sweetener, its more likely an artificial one. Mind you, you should be spitting out the mouthwash and not swallowing it so even if are sugars in the mouthwash the rise in blood sugar level should not be large.
More likely a case of delayed sugar absorption from something you consumed before hand? Then at roughly the same time you happened to use the mouthwash.
