Coolabar Rotisserie and BBQ disaster New Year's Eve
First use of the coolabar rotisserie in the coolabar bbq was planned for new year's eve 2013; and with this in mind it was taken out of the box and assembled. I was a little dubious from the outset, having worked as a fabricator welder for over ten years, specialising in stainless steel. The 6mm ss square bar seemed a bit light to me for the span of the bbq; especially since it was in sections screwed together. My brother in law googled the rotisserie on his iphone and said; "nar it's rated to 16 kilos." i shook my head in amazement. I was amaz...Read more
ed. I would've inserted the square bar into a piece of five eight ss tube, welded off to the bar at each end to stiffen it up before using it. "16 kilos!" i repeated in amazement. As i said, i was amazed. So ahead we went. The meat was purchased. The rotisserie saddle frames mounted to the sides of the coolabar bbq hood. (correctly i might note) 2 kilos of pork, 2 kilos of lamb and 2 kilos of beef. Another 2 and a half kilos of chicken was to go on the same rotisserie bar, but the chooks were too big to rotate in the small space between rotisserie bar and top edge of the bbq hood frame mate. So the chooks had to go in the over. This left 6 kilos to be cooked on the rotisserie. 6 out of 16. Plenty of margin for safety. It still looked too much when the meat was unpacked though. In fact the meat had to be cut down so it would rotate on the bar without striking the hood base at the back. First time user i thought. All at sea with the coolabar rotisserie. Never used a rotisserie before and i had a beefeater with a rotisserie attachment for over 20 years and that bbq is still going strong by the way. This was just rotisserie inexperience. Not to be beaten, i decided to become a rotisserie master. I'd use this rotisserie like i used the webber, often. I'd get good at rotisserie. I'd amaze the boys with rotisserie skill and finess and do it causally with a beer and sharing some laughter. Me. The bar was loaded with meat, the prongs locked the meat into place, the gas turned on and lit and we were away. Sort of. The bar had a substantial bow in it loaded and so the motor struggled to complete each revolution.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

aldi's coolibah 240 volt BBQ Rotisserie
I have just set up the rotisserie on my coolibah 4 burner BBQ from Aldi. I had a few initial problems as the holes in the side of the BBQ presumably for the rotisserie were not in the right place. After drilling one extra hole either side I was able to set up the rotisserie and am now enjoying 2 beautifully rotisseried chickens to eat. Once I sorted the fitting issues everything worked beautifully. For a budget system I am delighted both with my Coolibah BBQ (the budget one with an enclosed lid,not the one with a cabinet and clear glass lid)

Coolabah(Aldi) rotisserie
Bought this also from Aldi.
Bit fiddley to to put together.
First time use. Screw holding pieces together snapped. Weight was about 4 kgs.
Forks holding the meat also hard to lock into place.
The power cord comes out at the bottom, not at side as depicted in picture.
Very disappointed with product....Read more

Coolabah BBQ Rotisserie a waist of time.
Bought this Coolabah BBQ Rotisserie, from aldi, 240v motor with a rating of 16kg. Well after our first use with 3 kg of meat it worked fine and I was impressed. Unfortunatly the following week we put 2x 3kg pieces and the rod began to bend. After a couple of turns on the BBQ, the rod snapped in the middle. There is NO way this should be rated to 16kg, good luck doing 6kg. Very poor quality item, and I will be returning for a refund.
240v motor
poor quality rod holding the meat in place, way too thin. Faulsley advertised in rating weight.
