Never ever use this company again!
Our European trip was cancelled due to COVID. It was in May to June. We have lost over $12500!! They will not refund our money which was paid in good faith! We have been using them b4 for cruise holidays no problem! This money was a cruise in the Mediterranean!
Will never use this company again not to mention the slick sales talk and emails!
Buyer beware!!!!
A class action is on the horizon!!

Cruise First the worst travel company
We booked a cruise package with Cruise First in 2022 to South America and Europe with [name removed] who was so professional (we thought). This was on MSC Fantasia.
The cruise went haywire due to Covid 19 and we were stuck in Lisbon for 8 days until the Australian Ambassador in Lisbon very kindly rebooked our fares to return to Australia. Cruise First refused to assist us in any way. This cost us around $8000 which MSC cruises advised Cruise 1st would reimburse us. No one answers the telephone or emails that we send. [name removed] has sin...Read more
ce left the company so we cannot contact her. This is such a sad state of affairs. We are pensioners and cannot afford to lose this large amount of money, together with other refunds due to us for lost ports etc.

Not Happy
Very informative reviews. I would like to ask [name removed] what department of Cruise1st he works in. Seriously, we have booked through Cruise1st before and had no issues (were always a bit concerned because of warnings of how different this company is when there are problems). Sure enough we wish now we had heeded those warnings. We had booked a safari and cruise for April/May and enquired about cancellation in December but after being told we would only receive $600 back after paying a deposit of $6300, we decided to go through with the book...Read more
ing and paid another $6300. Of course Covid-19 changed everything. We have only received notice of flight cancellations directly from Cruise1st. They emailed us over a month ago and stated that they would contact soon and of course haven’t heard from them since. We knew there would be trouble so we filed with QCAT here in Queensland and when Cruise1st responded to them we finally heard about the cruise, Safari and hotel cancellations. They claim all the money was passed along to the various operators and that the safari company, Singapore Airlines, and MSC Cruises only offered a credit, Comair in Africa kept most of their money and Carlton Hotels kept all of theirs as a cancellation fee. The result is so far we will only get less than $3000 as a refund from a total of $12600 spent. We have researched many of these operators and they were either closed before our tour dates or had refund policies that contradict what Cruise1st has claimed. Certainly won’t book through this company again. Lynden and Peggy Dorval, contact at [contact details removed]Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Beware!!
Cruise 1st book the cheap no cancellation refunds for accommodation and airfares to keep the price low so if you decide to cancel you can’t get your money back. They expect you to rely on your travel insurance but in this pandemic travel insurance companies aren’t paying and they won’t refund if you choose to cancel because you have health issues and you’re worried about cruising in a Covid 19 Petri dish. We’re cruising in October and are still expected to make the final payment in June even though there is the likelihood of the cruise being c...Read more
ancelled. If we can’t fly to Singapore how can we get in the cruise?? You can be sure that they will not make a decision till after the final payment date. Looks like I have lost my $2300. I’ve been told I can cancel now and lose the full amount or wait for the suppliers to cancel after forking our another $3600. Either way I won’t get my accommodation costs back. Won’t be booking through Cruise 1st again!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

WONT REFUND
We booked 18 months in advance and 2 women in their late 70's. We have paid over $1200 per person total of $2500 . The cruise and tour is not till next March 2021. The tour Company said they were not charging a fee but Cruise 1st are still charging $1000 on behalf of CBT holidays I was told. This is just insane. Charge a fee as no-one works for nothing. Even Flight Centre are not charging fees now.
They are charging us a total of $2000 for cancellation fees for themselves and and cruise and also the CBT Holidays for tour. Just be fair. No travel agents would do this or wholesalers specially given the age and the time in advance. These women don't want to pay the rest of money then have to cancelled and their lives put at risk.

I cancelled our cruise on11/2/19 as my husband had to have a hip replacement .
I had paid the full amount but cancelled in time for celebrity to refund 75 % of what I paid.
Cruise 1st said it would be refunded to me in 12 weeks it is over 12 weeks and I have not got any refund.
I booked by phone and was not told they charge $600 cancellation fee.
When am I going to get my refund?

Still nothing
Booked and paid for China tour Oct last year. Left from Melbourne so we had domestic flights on top. Tour was leaving 30 April, so 1 week ago. All we have is small credits for our domestic flights, probably useless to us. This was to be our last big trip and after many phone calls and emails all we get is they are still negotiating with the company. How many weeks does it take to negotiate. We just want to know the amount we will finally get back.

No customer service or support.
No help with alternative plans or no offers of refunds. We have two holidays paid for April & October. Cruise1st made no contact regarding what’s happening and it’s the day before planned departure of first one . We Sent emails. Offered to refund only portion of amount if we cancelled. Threatened to reduce amount if we didn’t take their offer by return email. So annoyed by threat we wanted to wait to see what alternatives they would offer because they can’t provide what we have booked. No contact at all. Finally called 3 days before departure date. We rang. Cruise 1st Said they were waiting on China tour company and would get back. Day before. Still no contact. REALLY DISAPPOINTING as our agent Kerrie was so lovely to deal with.

Worried customers
We have still not received any money after so many emails about the cancellations due to the virus. Like so many other customers that are being short changed by Cruise1st. We booked package deals & cruise1st should be accountable for the refund, they did the booking arrangement & quoted. Some arrangements done by cruise1st was not refunded & some have charged a cancellation fee. We were not advice when the booking was made, so it is cruise1st that should be accountable . We are very concerned, it is lot of money that Cruise1st is still hanging...Read more
on. The money should have been refunded. All cruise lines & air flights have refunded to Cruise1st. We worked hard to save this money for our retirement. We have lodged with ACCC but we have not yet received an advice.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not good enough
My husband and I booked a 35 day cruise, flight and accommodation package through cruise 1st 18 months ago for our 35 th wedding anniversary. We were to fly into Singapore on the 16.3.20 to start our holiday. Total cost for this holiday was $12000. In the early days of the pandemic I realized that our insurance policy was not going to cover pandemics . With real concern going on this trip and not having insurance was concerning. So I contacted the agent through cruise1st to discuss and this was the start of a very frustrating

Very poor service
We booked 2 cruises from this company 4/02/20 and 24/02/20 however the travel was cancelled due to the pandemic. I’ve been communicating with them but they kept on telling me that they are still waiting for the refund from Singapore Airlines and Royal Caribbean. Both these companies informed me that refunds were already sent to Cruise1st but they were denying they received the refunds. Now they stopped answering my emails. The trip costs us a lot of money for seniors like us.

Cruise 1st Use Last!
Booked and paid in full $16100 for a package deal holiday for 4 adults and 2 children last July for travel in April. This included flights, hotels and a cruise. They were easy to book with and I have used them before. However, once they have your money their correspondence is poor. It is don’t call us we’ll call you. Eventually in March we were told our cruise was substantially changed and so MSC would give us a full refund if we canceled immediately. As this was a package the whole trip had to be canceled. If we wanted to continue with the cru...Read more
ise we would lose the money on the original flights and have to pay additional costs of $5000+ for new flights and accommodation in a different city. Impossible! Covid 19! So we canceled. We were told they would only refund what they could claim. Cathay Pacific only refunded $400 per person and the hotel in Hong Kong would not refund. That meant a loss of over $5000. We argued it was a package and our contract is with them not individual providers. To no avail! We have not seen 1 cent of this money and are told it is still being processed. Happy to join a class action.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

No refund for dodgy hotel booked
Had a three night stay booked in a London hotel before our cruise in October - arrived at the hotel to find the 'four star hotel' we had booked turned out to be a 2 star hostel at best. Had to find another hotel to stay in for the remaining nights. Have been contacting Cruise First since we arrived back in October and have had no resolution as of yet. Did not accept their measly offer of a $100 refund or $200 future cruise credit and have had no communication since. Will never book with this company again.

Cruise first refund/possible class action
Hi all. Paid a substantial amount September 2022 for a cruise and flights.Due to Corona19 outbreak we cancelled our travel plans as I believe many others would have also done. We phoned and emailed but with very minimal response. The time Cruise First have given for a refund is nearly up. If at the end of the time stated by Cruise First no refund or additional info has been received I prepose that people get together and start a class action.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

cruise 1st fault, but then they did absolutely nothing to help us. We have been waiting now 4 weeks. No sight of money, but also will not return calls or emails.

Appalling service!
Took our money then wiped their hands of the myriad of stuff ups they made with our booking. If that wasn't bad enough, they denied everything. NEVER AGAIN!! This company is owned by Royal Caribbean so you have no chance of getting any response to your complaints. Our experience with them was disgusting.

Hello booked cruise for 2 with cruise 1st was cancelled due to coronavirus had some of refund returned but they have charged $1410.34 cancellation fee. Does anyone no if this is correct can not find anything on there terms and condition thanks Jenny

Hi Jenny, we booked 2 package deals for two with Cruise 1st & both were cancelled due to the Virus. We have not received any money. This is what Cruise 1st advice. One package for last April had 2 cruises Princess line offered full refund, Carnival charged $1300. cancellation fee one of the flights had no refund (Alaska Air). We told Cruise 1st that they should be responsible as they booked the package & we were not advice with the conditions.
The package for September, the tour for China no refund $800. The flights offered future credit.
We paid $11290. for April & $4300 deposit for September. We are very worried, it is a lot of money that we saved for our retirement. Cruise 1st advice that it could take up to 12 or 18 weeks.
Good luck
Thanks Anita good luck to you our cruise was 15Th February They said 12 weeks for refund which was 11 weeks. I may inquire about the $1400 cancellation fee.

Did a Gary Davis get away on his cruise or manage to get his money back? I’d like to hear from him now
7 answers
Hi Vickie v. No we didn't get away on our cruise. I am in the process of trying to get money back, but I am expecting a reasonable wait under the circumstances.
My rep, Conor Day, has been in touch with me and it looks like I should get a full refund for the total package.
However, still a long way to go - I will keep you posted.
If they handle the refunds in an efficient and ethical manner, I will rebook another holiday thru them, and I will make posts on Product Review as to how that goes.
I am aware of many really negative reviews about this company, and I think that it really must come down to the individual that you are primarily dealing with. Good luck with your own situation.
Regards, Gary.
Our cruise was cancelled but we were told this only after we had flown to Singapore where we were meant to board. The cruise finished in Dubai, from where we would fly home. We booked and paid for a package deal which included flights, two hotel overnight stays, and cruise. On our return to Australia we were advised by our travel agent that only the cruise would be refunded. (Still waiting). We would have to claim insurance for our flights and hotel. How can this be right? Our trsvel agent told us she had received no notification from cruise1st regarding the cancellation of our cruise. Not good enough.
Gary, We have been told a told of things by a lot of people in Cruise1st, including Conor. Many of the people we have spoken to are apparently no longer working for the company. We have since found out that a lot of them should not have said what they did and it no longer stands, so when we were told to put in out of pocket expenses and we’d get refunds etc, they are not necessarily true. Good luck. I am really keen to know how you go, but I suspect they are just telling us a lot of what we want to hear to keep us at Bay. Please, please keep me posted. I
