I can't wait for rain

published

The Crystal Rain Gauge is beautifully made and I am looking forward to mounting it as a replacement for the plastic gauge I have been using for several years.
I can't comment on ease of use until we get rain, and that could be some time.
One complaint I have is regarding communication from the seller. I emailed and phoned several times about my order but never got a reply.

Best rain gauge we’ve ever bought

published

Easy to read, great service, after an issue with our original glass lug breaking a replacement was in the post as soon as they read my email. With newly designed stainless steel lugs on a new inner tube. Great improvement. Easy to clean.

Great rain gauge ever

published

I had been using plastic gauges for years, I cane across the Crystal Rain Gauge in Gardening Australia mag and ordered 3, 1 for myself and 2 for my sons, the inner tube lugs broke, I emailed the company and they were only to happy to replace the two that had broken. to my surprise the tube has been remade with stainless steel lugs.
Perfect product and very easy to read how much rain we have had.

Emails ignored

published

One of the glass lugs broke off the first time I emptied it, the second one broke spontaneously while sitting on the bench after it was taken down. I have emailed the company twice with still no reply, let alone a replacement part. I suggested that the design was flawed & a more sturdy rim & lug would be an improvement without knowing that that was what they had since done. The second time I requested a replacement, still no reply. Have tried phoning but messages not returned. Very disappointed in such an expensive product. Interesting to read reviews that many other customers had same problem but got replacement.

Purchased for $79.

Exactly what is was looking for!

published

I've been looking for a good quality rain gauge for quite some time, the others I've dealt with in the past have been flimsy and a bit dodgy. For example, they can become hard to read after being exposed to the elements for too long. I've been super impressed with how clear it is and how well it is made! Highly reccomended.

Great rain gauge

published

We love our Crystal Rain Gauge. It's easy to read and clean and the glass stays clear unlike the plastic ones.
One of the glass lugs broke off the inner cylinder after 7 months. I emailed the company and they sent me a new improved one with a stainless steel rim and lugs. It arrived within a week by express post.
I am extremely impressed with the service!

Fragile++++

published

I never got to use the rain gauge. The lugs broke off the inner cylinder when I was taking it apart in preparation for mounting it. Way too fragile! It would never stand up to regular emptying. And despite their sales pitch, they now don't sell replacement inner cyllinders. Clearly they have a quality problem.

Purchased in for $91.

Beautiful Rain Gauge

published

This was a present for my 60th. I have 28 acres and a small orchard of 20 citrus trees. I did ask on my prezzie list for a decent rain gauge as all the cheap ones either the measurements faded over time or the gauge became cloudy or cracked. This Crystal one looks like a work of art but has features like hardened glass, stainless steel support and screws. Obviously I have only just installed it and will update my review in a years time. It said on the box, designed in Australia but made in China. You can't have everything!

Check their web site but I am sure they are available as a spare. I am not sure about email as I found their communications were very poor.
