Dissolves easily
Great stuff, apply every Anzac Day, your lawn will be weed free all winter. Its a wettable powder, so make a paste first in a small container, then tip into the main sprayer. Apply to wet lawn and then water in twice as per the instructions for best effect.
... Read moredoes more than it says - it stops wintergrass seeds germinating as well as killing the plants
It is best to use this in April and May (a month apart) in Perth so you are preventing, rather than killing, the wintergrass. It needs to be washed in straight after spraying, and again around 24hrs later, with 12-25mm rain or irrigation. Hard to arrange with irrigation only allowed twice a week in Perth. Why so much irrigation?
Perhaps because the chemical breaks down in sunlight but is safe below the surface? It is a powder that is hard to mix in a sprayer, so use a litre container and slowly add a tiny bit of water, making a thick no-lumps
Terrible Powder
It clogged my sprayer up because the powder would not dissolve no matter how many times I agitated it or stirred it. I couldn't even use the product as it wouldn't come out my sprayer which performs perfectly with every other chemical I put in it.
So I put it in a watering can to get some use out of it, but then it clogged my watering can.
I spent over an hour cleaning my pressure sprayer nozzles with pins as they were clogged with the powder.
It was an absolute waste of my $20. And this should be looked into
Questions & Answers
I have watered my potted grape vine with Grays Winter Grass Killer accidentally. I’m currently flooding the pot with water to displace the chemical. Will this weed killer also harm the grape vine?
How much do you use? 60 grams per 10 litres seems excessive
Yes, 60g. Not so excessive when you consider its spread over 100m2.
It's quite hard to stretch 10l over 100 25 y
Make sure you mix a paste first as its tricky to dissolve.
Yes thats correct, best to use a back pack sprayer or a Hortex style to put it on. It kills winter grass very well over the next 3-4 months so worth the effort. Dont use a watering can, you won't get the 10 litres over 100 square meters evenly.
