Vacuum Cleaners Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of vacuum cleaner would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
Dont bother with it
My partner and I went shopping for a vacuum and decided to go with the top of the range Regal Premium, it came with plenty of different attachments and seemed amazing.
After paying $1399 for it we were then told that they didn't have any and had to give me the floor model, I did not get offered any discount for taking the display model.
we had the vacuum for about 4 months and the power head started cutting in and out, we took the head and hose in and it was sent off and we were with out a vacuum for about 2 weeks.
It worked perfectly fi...Read more

Great hoover
I went into godfreys not knowing what I want and ended up spending $1100 and what a great decision. This vac is superior, it leaves the lines on carpet, due to the suck being so strong, comes with a zillion attachments and I absolutely love it. They also give you yearly services at no,cost with this vac! Great value for money

Good But Not Great
Much Better than our last vac motorised head is excellent at drawing deep dirt from carpets mattresses etc. Suction however leaves a little to be desired. Good when used in conjunction with motorised head but not powerful enough on hard floors. Very light and quiet. Can be tricky to manoeuvre around tight corners and spaces.

Great unit
I had an in store demo from Godfreys in Mornington. I had a few machines to pick from and watch as the sales consultant throw some sand and dirt on the carpet and rubbed it in very well. I have a top of the range Dyson which is 5 years old, although the new Dyson's that I was shown didn't come with a power head that ran independently and worked from the suction of the machine. After a few demos which the process was repeated several times, and I must say the process did not vary at any stage the Hoover Regal took its turn. I was blown away with...Read more
the effectiveness of the unit, by far this unit was superior. Heaps of gadgets and accessories, some which I will never use, and the lights on the power head are fantastic. Very strong and self propelling power head makes it easy to clean and you are sure the dirt is being lifted well below the carpet line, it will scare you when you vacuum. In my view work the money.,Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

LOVE THIS VACCUUM!
LOVE this vacuum cleaner but MORE importantly does my husband! He's making sure we get our money's worth out of it every week! It does the mattress too which is great! Never had one before that does our mattress so this will be great in the long term! Look forward to paying it off faster and getting as much use out of the different pieces that came with it also!!

Overall good, could have been better
Overall review depends on your expectation and level of use. Mine was based on heavy duty home use. I have compared this to my previous Hoover Core 7+ bag less for similar use. We have a Golden Retriever at home and needs regular vacuuming to remove pet hair and dust. I was prompted to purchase a new unit since my old Hoover Core 7+ powerhead mount broke after 08 years of extensive use.
Hoover Regal - Bagless.
A good option for a house that has carpet, floor boards as well as tiles.
Powerhead - Good, 1600W. Could have been much bette...Read more
r if Hoover offered 1800W similar to Core7 + for Regal This is the most important component of the unit. Feels much lighter, hence gives the feeling that it is not heavy enough for a deep carpet clean. I believe older Hoover core 7+ was still way better in terms of power head performance. Power head has LED lights which are RED and makes this feature useless. Had Hoover provided warm or bright white LED lights on P/H it would help light up darker areas like under beds and sofas to see dust and dirt. RED LED lights are a waste of feature.Similar opinion? Perfect replacement
Previously had a Dyson for 8+ years, which accidentally dropped and broke. Looked at other cleaners and finally settled on Hoover Regal. Wow! Thought the Dyson was doing a good job until we used the Regal. What an amazing cleaner. The extra attachments are many and varied, with the mini brushes etc being handy for cleaning out my sewing machine, computer keyboard. Cleaning the cannister and diverter cannister is easy. The Regal is also much quieter. Power cord is longer than previous cleaner, however to vacuum whole house an extension is requir...Read more
ed. It is very light to pick up and has amazing suction on our carpets, laminate and tiled floors. Have also used the power head on our mattress which is approx 2 years old, with amazing results. Overall, we are very happy with the Regal. .Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Fabulous
Purchased this vacuum today and I love it. Powerful cleaning, extremely easy to manoeuvre, light to pack away and compact. Thrilled with it - previously had a far more expensive German brand and it was nothing on this. Totally recommended for both carpets and hard floors (have both timber and expensive carpet). Only wish we had bought it months ago. Funny but it made vacuuming fun - never thought I would ever say that!!!!!

Tiresome Ritual
My G4 KIRBY died after 20yrs, so I went to GODFREYS for a new Vac (2015)… In enters the HOOVER REGAL with included attachments, extra freebies and filters for $1099.00.
Before I renovated my lounge room carpet to click timber flooring I needed to empty the 1.75ltr barrel (dust container), clean the circular filter after each weekly use. A very tiresome bothersome ritual after having a KIRBY that you only empty 1 bag after months of use!
After renovations; overall the REGAL adjustable Powerhead does well with small low pile carpeted areas...Read more
, large rugs and hard floor surfaces using the hard floor tool. In all it's growing tiresome to keep emptying it out and bashing the dust out of the filter each time after every 3rd use maximum! Please note debris like plasterboard dust will clog the circular filter from performing properly. Washable as it is, this still did not resolve the issue. BUY spares. The retractable cord is sufficient in length for 2 side by side bedrooms; otherwise it’s an extension cord for the whole house. For tall persons you’ll find the REGAL telescopic tube adequate; as I would not have purchased it otherwise. The many included attachments for me are nonsense; as the crevice tool does it all.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Never get one
I hate it. It does pick up a lot of dust but won't pick up say a marble or pebble the suction is horrible, the silly rollers just flick it away. Try vacuuming up under the table when the kids have had a sausage roll and the crumbs just stay there. Definitely not worth the money would never recommend one.

Easy Peasy
For my new carpet I needed to invest in a good vacuum. The regal was it. Although it is on the pricey side it comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty and soooo many attachments. There is literally an attachment for everything. The vacuum itself is amazing. You don't have to pull and tug it picks up EVERYTHING with ease even after I give my dog a hair cut. The vibrating head means smaller particles lift to the surface so your getting a thorough clean. You can see the dirt vibrating!!! I love my vacuum such a good investment.

I have a Regal and twice the lights on the power head have failed. Once after a month and when replaced, after two weeks. The cleaner has not been 'abused' in any way infact if anything it is treated with loving care as the cost was great. has anyone else had a similar problem?

Yes the vacuum is a waste of money. The vacuum does not work. When we brought the vacuum we were advised it was a fantastic, but the suction is appalling, it does nor pick up anything on wooden floors and just shoots it out. If you move from wooden floor to carpet the brush head clogs up and has to be cleaned . A terrible piece of equipment, just a waste of money.
Thank you, Jack. for your comments. However I am still at loss to find out if anyone has had the same problems as I have had with the lights. Apart from the lights I find this cleaner very, very good. I have 6 cats and a parrot that make their share of the cleaning needed.
