To be fair, it’s not just this brand that fails the muffin and crumpet test, but at the price? It should be able to perform these basic functions. It’s fine for toasting bread, even and consistent. Ours is still under warranty, so I’ll be returning it, throwing another $50 at the problem and upgrading. Fingers crossed.
Purchased at Harvey Norman for $150.
Cooks one side at least twice as much as the other. Often only cooks one side. Terrible. I returned to Myer and got a replacement, the replacement had exactly the same problem as the first
Purchased in for $149.
Looks really good. But that’s the only good thing I have to say about it. Unevenly cooked toast from day one. Sometimes only cooks one side, even if you don’t select that function. Very disappointed. Contacted DeLonghi, no response. Poor customer service and a poor product.

I'm in my 60's and have lived life well. For me to complain about a toaster is a first. This toaster is a completely corrupt piece of garbage. Never consistent, burned high & low, undercooked high & low. I've had better reliability out of a poker machine. Bought from Good Guys Hervey bay. There on sight reviews were brilliant. So much for credibility. If nothing else, let at least one person save there money before spending in on this burner. Buy the way, it looks great. More the fool me.
Purchased in at The Good Guys for $149.

Toasting elements on one side of toaster stopped working 11 months from purchase date. Fortunately the 12 months warranty allowed me to return toaster to department store and receive full refund.
I agree with Choice reviewer:
• Borderline at producing the same toast colour cycle after cycle.
• Only OK score for browning evenly.
• Poor at toasting frozen bread.
• Only OK at toasting a single slice of bread.
• The exterior is difficult to clean because there are significant dirt entrapment spaces.
* 61% score
Purchased in at Myer for $129.

I bought the toaster in white when I got home and used it I found out that It only toasts on one side. I rang up and they told me to take it to a repair place which doesnt actually repair them. They sent it to DeLonghi and I had to wait a week for them to send me another when I got the replacement did the exact same thing only toasting on one side and burning the other buyers be warned the worst toaster you will ever buy.
Purchased in at The Good Guys for $180.
I bought this toaster because it's all manual without LED display and seemed solid and well built. Unfortunately it is rubbish at making toast. It doesn't have the power to crisp a crumpet on full browning setting and seems to just dry out bread without browning or crisping. Extremely disappointed that such a good looking and well built toaster is so bad at doing the one thing it needs to do. The bagel setting just turns off half of the elements, so you get dried out luke-warm toast on one side and hard dry toast on the 'hot' side. Also very in...
Read moreadequate 'high-lift' lever action - barely lifts the toast above the edge of the toaster. Am returning it to the store for exchange, but am doubtful that any new toasters are capable of toasting correctly after reading some online reviews.Purchased in at The Good Guys for $139.

Like many people we thought this unit looked great. The red with chrome matched the wife's other kitchen appliances and it has a great retro look about it. But in my 50 plus years of buying and using toasters, this would rate as the worst. It toasts very unevenly, requiring the setting to be changed to "bagel", which switches off one side of the element so the bread needs to be put back in again but in reverse. The setting knob burns at 1.5 but does almost nothing at 1. Took the unit back after 1-week and was given a replacement, which is exactly the same. This is not acceptable for a $150 toaster. We are still using it after 6-months but it's harder work than it should be, trying to get decent toast.
Purchased in for $149.
This toaster is a complete waste of money.
• The cord is too short
• No high lift function if you have smaller pieces of bread
• It only toasts one side of your bread
• Patchy toasting on the good side
• Massively oversized knobs for controlling ‘toast colour’ (timer) go out of sync with a light breeze.
We have owned for about 6 months and I hate it every day.

Looks beautiful.. bought the 4 slice toaster, kettle and coffee machine matching..
Electrical fault in toaster . Red lights flash. Wont switch off.. eventually cuts out electrical to whole house.
Reciept was lost by kids who bought toaster as gift neither store purchased or delonghi customer support will replace or refund.
Pathetic to have to throw away a $150 toaster !!!
Very disappointed.
(The $10 kmart toaster i had for 9 years still works perfectly.. )
Now i have a set without matching toaster.. :(
Only toasts one side at a time or burns it. Complained to Delonghi and they sent us a new one and that worse than the first one we paid £65 for it and it's very poor. Would not recommend it to anyone. Looks good but just doesn't do the job.

We bought one of these and took it back to the shop because it was burning one side of the toast. I felt the shop really didn't believe us but gave us a replacement anyway. We brought the second one home and it does exactly the same thing. I'm too embarrassed to take it back again. You cannot turn the toaster beyond 3 as it burns one side of the toast badly. Cooking on 3 - one side of the toast is good and one is very undercooked. A big waste of money. It burnt my toast badly this morning so I thought I'm going to let others know about it. Sick of it

Only bought this toaster Saturday, It doesn't cook both sides of the bread, the bread doesn't pop out far enough, so you burn your fingers trying to get it out. I rang DeLonghi and they didn't really seem to care, they just said take it back to were you bought it .It's a pity cause it looks good but very poor performance, especially for the price . I ended up going to KMart & getting one for $100.00 cheaper and it works fine .( for now )
Looks stylish. Toast was OK. After 3 months of light use I put bread in as usual this morning. When I pushed the handle down there was a loud bang, white light from inside and the ring mains shorted. It now does not work, I'm glad I delayed buying the rest of the set. Needless to say I will not be buying them now and will be sticking well clear of DeLonghi products.
Got to try two as the first one wouldn't pop the toast up at the end and just kept on cooking until burnt to a crisp no matter how low a setting I put it on. The second one blew a circuit in our house and I took it back to The Good Guys who no longer carry this line I understand. De Longhi need to stop selling it and recall this product.
Even without these faults it looked good but you couldn't lift the toast to get it out, there was no ability to adjust how much they cooked and it still will let you put toast down when not plugged in. Have...
Read more a dirt cheap reliable one now that does all these things. So angry and frustrated that I spent all that money on the toaster and kettle because they looked good and thought it would be a good brand. Do not purchase this product.Questions & Answers
Hi, a Harvey Norman purchase, icons black 4 slice, 2 control sets, separate controls and sides is perfect for family as my side cooks the gluten free toast only (no contamination) which takes x3 to x4 Longer. Problem is centre coil not heating on my side so l have to turn my toast over to cook the tether side. Problem 2: l want 4 sandwich racks to use in toaster for toasted sandwiches. Where can l buy good quality compatible ones please? I bought 1 Kitchenaid brand, works great in my Delonghi toaster but the plastic handle crumbled and fell off on both handles soon after purchase, KA wouldn’t honour a replacement. Please help.
