7 years kaput!
Coffee is great. Delonghi sent me a little something to add to the milk frother tube attached to the milk canister so my milk is hotter. I loved it. It lasted about 7 years. For the price I paid, I suppose I expected for it to last a little longer. Repair cost $900.00. Not worth it as other things may go wrong too. I found it easy to use, easy to clean. Not sure if 7 years is good or poor.

Still disappointed. Maybe too because I loved it too much! Delonghi did reach out and offered me a discount to purchase a new one. I ended up going...

Not hot enough
If the machine heated the coffee better I would give it 5 stars.
Happy with overall performance I just dislike warm coffee, have to put in microwave to get a nice hot coffee.
Purchased at Harvey Norman for $2,990.
The money pit
Great coffee but too many things can go wrong. Repair plus service plus parts.. I can just buy a coffee shop!. Hundreds to make it work again. Absolute scam. Coffee is nice and ease of use is impressive. Machine is good looking in the kitchen.. however.. who can afford to keep fixing it every few months. Money for jam.
Purchased in December 2014.

Long term review.
I have had my machine for quite awhile, I checked statistics and as of last night it has made 8764 cups of coffee!! Now I do think it counts shots (that is double shot = 2) - regardless thats a lot of coffee for a domestic machine!!
It makes good coffee HOWEVER, you really need to look after it and honestly follow the manual - soak your infuser at least once per week, further learn to perform basic self maintenance once every month or so and you will get trouble free operation forever and a day. -- weekly maintenance is warm water bath, mo...
Read morenthly I soak in warm soapy water, clean off all debris and old lube, check o rings and re lube the whole lot - takes 30 minutes once per month - coffee tastes perfect after! I see a lot of people whine on here that their machine is rubbish, faulty etc - what it always is, user poor maintenance and failure to read the manual. Quick check on these machines, after a weekly soak of infuser, check that the plunger moves up and down easy enough. Over time the O rings swell and get encrusted with coffee and oils.. to replace its cheap $10-20 for a 3 ring kit, lube them up off you go. Further, if something goes wrong most parts are easy enough to obtain (I dropped my water holder and bought new OEM for $40 shipped!). My old man has had a magnifica since about 2003 and its still going, mostly just replaced a few o-rings and re-lubed! Anyway, if you don't want maintenance perhaps get yourself a 1 group machine and coffee grinder as the bean to cup machines will all need maintenance even though your salesperson at whichever store you visit wont mention it to you as to scare you off.. Just remember when these pistons size, it makes the gears work extra hard either damaging them or burning out the motor and electronics... So easy to prevent... So go in with your eyes open and enjoy good coffee every day! In my case lets say even at $1 per shot, I've got my moneys worth. Reason I put this review up is I notice all these people complain and mention issues which are symptoms of improper care!Purchased in December 2015 at The Good Guys for $3,299.
Hi Frag, this is wonderful thank you for your honest review, we really appreciate it! :)

Does not live up to its reputation
Coffee spills inside the nachine.
Not marking coffee.
Coffee not consistent and not satisfied.
When it does make coffee it is not consistent and sometimes it will be weak and other times too strong!
Purchased in February 2017.

Piece of rubbish
This is our second purchase of a delonghi fully automatic coffee machine. We didn’t learn from our first purchase just how unreliable and rubbish these machines are. Constant problems, been fixed once under manufacturers warranty and three times under extended warranty, which I would highly recommend you purchase this extra warranty if you plan to use this machine more than a couple times a day. First time no milk, second time milk stops, third time error message “empty circuit” and the most recent problem we had was with the milk delivery, A...
Read moreGAIN. If it has to go back once more before December this year, they apparently class it as a “lemon”, which probably just means I will be entitled to another machine. I will never buy a Delonghi product again, for the price you pay, you expect a far more superior product and reliability than you get.Purchased in December 2014 at Retravision for $2,500.

Great until it died!
The coffee was great and the milk frothing also great. Had a lot of great features and was the top of the range model offered by DeLonghi.
I absolutely loved this coffee machine but by month 11 the PrimaDonna Exclusive died!
Had an error code and apparently it was the internal circuit board that no longer worked. Not something I had expected from such an expensive machine & I was absolutely disgusted and disappointed!
Eventually had it fixed and got rid of it very soon after the repairs were done.
So, I decided not to buy any DeLonghi products ever again.
Because of this awful experience I purchased a Breville Nespresso machine just recently. I missed having a coffee machine! ...
Read more I’m not willing to risk having another DeLonghi product and have that die after warranty expires, especially when it is a pricy $3,000+ ticket item! Long review but necessary I think. Recommend? Definitely not.Related Articles
Great.. at first
I have had this machine since 2012.. at first it was fantastic but after about a year it’s started to have some hiccups, it’s been in and out of repairs. I have taken it back to David Jones many times to be repaired, they aren’t concerned they just send into repairer for delonghi. It’s now constantly saying to fill water tank even when it’s full. These days it’s hit and miss whether it will actually work when I turn it on. I’m now thinking of putting it in the bin.
VERY disappointed with this product for the price

This is perfect can’t live without it
Very happy with taste, as long as it is organic and arabica coffee pods.It is easy to use,but requires frequent topping of water and cleaning, other than that, there are no issues. The machine works great. It is a little dear to buy initially, but the advantage is that it pays by itself in the long run.

Shocking don't buy it - I'd give it zero if I could
I bought this from David Jones. It's only ever delivered lukewarm coffee right from day 1. The manual steam nozzle pops off and its now started to malfunction whereby if you press to move to preground coffee it takes you rinsing and can't get out of It. It won't turn off so I have to turn it off at the power point. This kachine cost a fortune and has been a HUGE letdown. I have no time to be mucking around to get things repaired when they are so new. Am furious at myself for spending that kind of money fo something that is so rubbish and not fit for sale. I should have taken action over it sooner but have struggled to find time.

Great machine, easy to use and easy to maintain. Makes a great coffee. I do use the steamer to heat
Great machine, easy to use and easy to maintain. Makes a great coffee. I do use the steamer to heat milk up. Easy to clean, descaler needs to completed when the machine tells you, roughly every 1-2months ( depends on how many coffees machine makes. Hubby really loves using it too.

I love coffee
We didn't need a new coffee machine, but when we came across this one we just needed to upgrade. We love it, no regrets. We like that it is an all in one, it grinds and heats the milk all in the one process. We have needed to repair the brewer, as it was spilling out ground coffeed (inside of the machine) but it has been working fine since. We have made 1200 coffees :)

We have upgraded from same model from 6 years ago, not a day goes by where it doesn't deliver us at least 5 cups a day,
I love it, love the taste, you ;earn to make it perfectly, cleans itself except empty the grounds
worth every cent, even the second time round
Factory regulated temp.of milk / coffee eg capacinno hardly lukewarm
I bought my Delonghi Prima Donna Exclusive ESM 6900 May 2014 . It never deliver even lukewarm carpaccio coffee despite customer service tried to help me thro the phone so finally sent for repair and was 4/10 rating. then a week ago it was malfunction as it showed electric circuit failure and I had it repaired under Myers Care plan extended warranty where the soliniod valve replaced by Delonghi authorised repairer in Perth Pump, infuser and rings replaced .i just recd and the Cappacino is just perfect so it is worth to get Delonghi to send to...
Read more repairer or get quote as it is worthwhile mine was approx $164 charge to Myer care plan / Delonghi It is easy to use 10/10 Easy to clean clean at every cup of coffee, descale menu, empty ground tray 10/10Great machine, "coffee not hot enough" answer
This is a great machine and delivers as promised!
One thing to note, this machine requires a 220-240 power source. If you are plugging it into a regular power outlet in your home it will never heat up to desired temperatures. If you do not have an outlet in your kitchen that delivers this higher voltage, A step up/down transformer will do the trick. Hopefully this helps with those cold coffees, good luck!!!
Questions & Answers
Hi there,
My Prima Donna was working for about 4 years perfectly, but one morning it just would not turn on! The power is on, and the machine has power, but the on button is just dead. What can be the problem?
Thanks
Machine says fill water even when it’s full
Please tell my why temperature of milk is so low? My previous machine is magnifica and temperature of milk good. so something wrong is with my machine?
Hi Darek
By default the machine has the energy saver mode turned on. By turning this to off your machine should produce a hotter coffee and milk. This is found under the setting option on your machine...
