My dispenser is going off three times every time I go to use it. Does that mean it’s on its way out?

I haven't experienced this myself. Have you tried wiping over the sensor? Is there possibly soap covering it?
Yes cleaned it off I thought the same but the sensor picking up three applications seems electrical.

No stock anywhere in Australia, apparently. You can prise the cap off and refill with something else temporarily.

I have been buying these for years and never had a problem of getting the back off, this time I have tried fingers first and then a knife and no luck ?I can’t use.

Snap I’m stuck too. It the battery compartment won’t budge
There is a large silicon seal that keeps the compartment cover in place and it needs a lot of force to open it, to the point where you think you are going to break it. Don’t use any tools or knives or you will definitely break it.

how do you change the battery?
2 answers
I have one of the original ones, so I can only describe the battery compartment for that one. It is on the bottom of the base unit. Turn the switch in the back to OFF, so the soap doesn't start leaking. Take the soap container out, turn the base unit upside down and open the flap. It should be marked with a little battery sign on the flap outside which can be opened where batteries can be replaced. I did not keep the latest model and did not even check if it had replaceable batteries or not. If your despenser is all sealed on the bottom, maybe they changed the design and it does not come with repleaceable batteries anymore.
They have the old ones you could get the battery out the new ones are impossible to get the bottom off.

Bought 2 new dispensers. Do not work. How does the battery hatch open? Old model was easy - cant figure out this new model

We had the same problem. We put the end of a metal nail file into the bottom and prised it off, changed the batteries with no success.
Asked 4 people and no-one could figure it out. Finally got someone to do it. Its not easy and you really have to use force to get the whole bottom panel off. (Thought it was going to break). Took out the red tags from the batteries, and now they're working.
It shouldn't be this hard - manufacturers please take note !!
I used a butter knife to get the bottom black section off the top silver section. Changed the two batteries and the bottom clicked back on easily and it's working again.

How do you get the base off please before I go insane?
2 answers
The bottom pushes off. I used a nail file to loosen it first as it is fairly tight.
I used the back part of the hammer that is used to get nails off. If the model has not changed since when I bought it years ago, lay the container on the side, wedge the hammer edge part under the base cap and gently but firmly rotate the hammer until the base cap snaps out. The first time doing this snaps the internal connection which they glued so you need to snap only the internal bit, hence gently. I did it as I did not want to pay for refills anymore so it didn’t matter to me if it broke the container. It either worked and I refill or fail and I throw it out. So this would be the risk you take. Good luck!

Just bought what I imagine must be mark III version (shorter) and haven't been able to open the base to get to the batteries. The only instruction seems to be depiction of the black base pivoting open, but the base resists all attempts to do that!! What's the secret to getting it to open?

Mine just had a battery cover on the bottom that was easily opened. I had a look at the new versions in the shop & you may have to unscrew the base (??). Sorry..not much help. Maybe others can help????
The bottom us a rubber seal cap, just pull it open applying some force, don't worry, it won't break.
Just pull the black section off the grey hard plastic
Many thanks for that, Rog and Jo D.. In the meantime, a frail, little slip of a girl working in Woolworths pulled the stupid thing open for me!! Not so easy for me to get the friggin' thing back on though. But, first night of using it and it spat out an extra serve of soap unasked and unprompted!!! We're on our fourth machine now (three different versions - if it gets any smaller with any fewer batteries it might disappear up its own #@$%&!).. Still like the concept, but losing patience rapidly.

My dettol dispenser has no eject button. How do I change the soap dispenser?
Abby94asked
I bought three of these Dettol No Touch Hand Wash System. One of them is a white dispenser, and the other two are the stainless steel dispenser. My question is why does my white dispenser have an eject button, but my stainless steel dispenser's don't?

mines grey but not stainless steel and has an eject button -- call the manufacturer maybe
I had a silver one and it had an eject button!
I had problems with battery replacement of my unit and I couldn't get it working after the batteries went flat.
I also noticed the same thing on mine too - no eject button, and only uses 3x AA batteries instead of 4x AA on the original. I think its version 2 of the dispenser. It's the manufacturer's way of stopping users from tampering with the product. The most common complaint I saw the original version of the dispenser, uses too much soap. Videos came out on the internet showing everyone how modify the unit to reduce the amount of soap. To open the unit you will need to get to screws on all 4 of the battery compartments, and then press the eject button to pop out the cover. Version 2 of the dispenser does not have an eject button and does not give access to the 4th battery compartment... so it makes it a lot harder to modify. Personally, I think version 2 is just fine. It dispenses the correct amount of soap and uses less batteries.
