Easiyo Yogurt Maker Questions & Answers
How much water to make 500grm yogurt in a larg container
Can l use half a plain yogurt sachet in the 500ml yogurt container (plant based)?
Do I have to use the plant based yoghurt maker to make plant based yoghurt or can I use the regular yoghurt maker?
How do I make my EasiYo yogurt lactose free please? Thanks
Can I use long-life skim milk and a couple of spoons of low-fat live culture yoghurt to make my own yoghurt in the Easiyo?
i used to make my own yogurt for years using live culture yogurt with electric yogurt maker. All you need to do is to heat milk to certain temp, allow it to cool to certain temp, mix culture and let yogurt maker to do its job. I only used full fat milk to do it. Problem with easiyo temp is not maintained constant. And it may take long time to ferment yogurt. electric yogurt makers cheap.
Can you make 500grams of yoghurt? Is it ok to simply halve the sachet? 1litre of yoghurt is to much for me.
i was able to take 1/2 of sachet and same amount of coconut powder and yogurt came out great. I just want to make sure you understand all i am after is sugar reduction. It is simply criminal for easiyo to add real sugar. I had to dissolve coconut powered in water first by heating it up just little bit. Combining 2 powders and then adding water did not work. I will keep working on this and report, but so far so good.
So, did you still make 1litre of yoghurt? I'm wanting to halve everything and make 500ml. Wondering if it will work.... and you can but plain yoghurt, without sugar, if you are after sugar free, then add your own.
I have been using my Easiyo on and off for the last 2 years. I absolutely love it but would really like to make the yoghurt thicker than standard.
Ive read that you can add powdered milk into the yoghurt to achieve a thicker yoghurt.
Do I add the powdered milk at the beginning, when im mixing up the easiyo sachet with the 16⁰C water before placing it in the maker for 12 hours ??
What brand of powdered milk works best ?
I recall hearing you add it with the sachet and make as usual.
it is easy to use. i only used plant based version because i am vegan. I would try coconut milk powder. Problem with this yogurt is very high sugar content and most people dont read labels. company claims 5 servings but in reality there are 2. they say 7.8 grams of sugar per serving, in reality it is 20 grams of sugar per serving. my name here is sugarkills. Why? Because my liver is failing and there is no drugs to treat failing liver that starts with something called NASH (google it), there are no drugs to treat NASH and nothing but failures in last decade to develop such drugs. And on a top of it read ingredients, you are paying for starches and chemicals not just coconut cream powder. I am busy for next month but i am experienced chef i will try to develop something that can do same thing but without added sugar. This company device keeps temp pretty well so can be used to ferment yogurt. So tool is good, powders will kill you. Go test your liver enzymes, glucose levels and triglycerides. You will thank me
Can I get a replacement lid for the insert of my easiyo maker? I found something that fits but the 2 yoghurts I have made since have been runny.
Check out the op shops. I live in Queensland and there are lots of these donated. Otherwise google the company and send them a message.
You can actually buy complete insert containers from Dick Smith online.
I have bought 5 from them and they are great. Means I've always got containers in the fridge while empty ones are in the dishwasher

I've been using the easiyo yoghurt maker for a few years and I love it...until now! My last 4 batches have been substandard or complete failures! What's going on?
Check the use by dates on the mix. I also find in hot humid weather that it helps to make sure the water is cool, put the powder mix in the fridge for a few hours before using, and keep the thermos in a cool place.
Just bought my Easiyo and on first try forgot about it and it sat for 36 hours before I put it in the fridge. 31 degrees here. Should I throw it out and start again?
I wouldn’t risk it. Longer you leave it tends to make it more sour too. Make a great batch and your likely to keep making it. Enjoy.
Well yes I have done that too. I did put it in the fridge. I did eat it because it tasted good, but I seem to have a rock hard stomach so maybe not for you. You could taste and see I suggest.
I have a Fresh Plant yoghurt maker. I cannot open the lid so have not been able to use. Any suggestions please.
I have just purchased the EasiYo yoghurt maker and made my first batch of blueberry Greek yoghurt.
It came out thick which I expected but gloopy - not a pleasant texture.
Any comments?
Not sure why that happened. Did you make sure you filled about half the jar with water from tap then pour in the powdered mix, with lid on shake it..up and down a few times..about 4 times..then continue to fill with water to the top and then shake again. Then into the larger container containing boiled water to the top of the red ring seal with its lid then sit for 12 hours so if you start it at 5pm you remove it at 5am and put in the fridge to cool down. If you did all of that..then you might have a bad batch or the packet itself might have been stored incorrectly by the shop etc before placement on shelf. Have had one to three packets over a period of ten years that wasn't ok..contacted Easiyo and they were helpful ie they sent out a replacement packet. Hope this helps. Regards, Sandra
I accidentally used boiling water in the pot instead of room temperature water and boiling water in the jar… will it work?
Hi. I need a replacement insert for my red easiyo. Where can I get one, or could I use something else to hold jar at right height?
