Crispy waffles at last!
This is the third Breville waffle iron I've purchased. I started with the basic one, then splurged on the Belgian Rolls-Royce and finally I've added the No-Mess waffler to the collection. Boy am I glad I did. While I love the Belgian waffler for its ease of use, it just never delivered the crispiness that I was after. This waffle maker does that in spades. It is easy to use, easy to clean and boy......did I mention those crispy waffles?!!!! Only drawback is the small size, meaning it takes a fair while to bake up a batch. But it's worth waiting for breakfast when it tastes that good!
Purchased in March 2021 at Winning Appliances for A$149.00.

Retro doesn’t suit this item
Before I start, I’m reviewing the Smith & Noble Retro Waffle Maker.
So looking forward to finding a square shape waffle maker. Oped for this one
a) because of price
b) thinking it would make great waffles
Other than the price, unfortunately waffles weren’t much to rave about. I used side by side, my Breville Crisp Waffle maker and this one. My Breville was completing waffles a lot faster and evenly cooked. Here, I had patches no matter how many tries I had. Would I recommend, unfortunately no. There was no indication if waffles were ready, because the ready light was always on.
Purchased in March 2021 at Harris Scarfe for A$52.25.

The beep doesn’t work and Breville don’t respond to emails
The beeper stopped working by the second go so I have no idea when they’re ready. It’s a big investment considering such a flaw. I have to watch my waffles the whole time and guess when they’re ready. Breville don’t respond to my emails and have not attempted to resolve the issue as yet.

Makes perfect waffles
This machine makes perfect waffles. You can choose the crust level with the darkness control. It is also really easy and simple to clean. I makes waffles two to there times per week, and my kids love them. There is no need to go outside for waffles anymore. Great product.

Australia's safest non stick waffle maker
For me the number one criteria for choosing a waffle maker was one that was safe to use. All of the non stick waffle makers I researched contained PFOA's (known carcinogen) except for this one. The non stick surface does an excellent job, the moat is very helpful if you pour too much mixture in it and it cooks very evenly. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
I have tried cast iron waffle makers but could never get the mixture not to stick. I make organic sourdough waffles about once a week with this appliance, it is healthy and yummy.

Good solid product. Works well. (very) minor quibbles
I generally don’t like specialist appliances but, after considerable nagging about extending my pancake/crepe repertoire, I promised the kids that I’d buy a waffle iron if one became available at a reasonable price. One did and I bought it only to find out the hard way that cheap ones come with a fixed heat setting and that temperature is crucial when making waffles.
So my results varied depending on the mixture used but overall they were incredibly time critical between being undercooked and being burnt. So I returned it but then had to ho...Read more
nour my promise at a much higher price point. I couldn’t find the google-recommended brand/model so I chose the Breville BWM520, having had good experiences with the higher level Breville ranges. As with the other Breville products in this range, it is well designed, looks good (to my eyes) and is well built. It is simple to use and has worked well with each of the batters tried. The temperature control works to give me the final colour that I want. I’ve only had it for a month so I can’t comment on reliability but the other Breville products in this range have worked solidly for nearly two years yet so I don’t expect problems.1 comment

If you Love Waffles Grab One of These (on special!)
We had been enjoying using a Sunbeam Belgian Waffle Maker for many years but when it recently died and we found out that that model was discontinued we were grief stricken!
Was looking at the super duper Breville Waffle maker "The Waffle Pro" but its recommended price of $279 was more than I could justify even with my waffle addiction. Saw the No Mess Breville on sale for around $85 (normally up to $169) in Bing Lee and just had to buy it.
This machine has some cheaper competitors but I can say this one works really well. I have yet to m...Read more
ake any recipes up. We have only used White Wings Buttermilk and plain pancake mixes over the years but they turn out very well. Crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. I do add 1 desertspoon of extra sugar to the mix because I feel it adds to the caramelised crispiness. The Waffles are thinner than the "Belgian" waffle the Sunbeam made for us but thicker than the thin waffle maker variety. We actually prefer this size best. The No Mess moat works well and the device also is designed to allow you to wrap the cord around the base and for it it to stand upright for storage. Overall I can really recommend this waffle maker especially if bought on special.1 comment

Love the moat design
I was given this as a Christmas gift, not something I would usually buy myself but have actually ended up using it quite a lot as in addition to waffles you can also make potato rosti in it which turn out delicious.
I'm not a big sweet waffle fan so have made savoury chive and cheddar waffles and rosti's. All have turned out great with absolutely no sticking whatsoever, really easy to just slide out when done and the moat to catch the over flow and cook it is genius. Being new to the process of waffle making I did overfill and the moat just...Read more
caught it all and because it cooks it to I had some delicious crunchy edge bits on my waffles, bonus. The only thing to note is I find it does get very hot on top and takes a while to cool down after so you need to be careful if you have kids around.1 comment

No Mess, No Fuss - really!
We're a week in with our new Waffle Maker, and we love it.
It's a clean, compact unit and is well designed with a spillage catcher that also cooks any spillage. The cooking control works well, and can darken your waffles to suit. Waffles come out golden brown and delicious.
The unit itself is well built and solid, not tacky like some. Underneath it has a feature that enables you to coil the power cord up and away, making for a very compact unit when stored. It's also easy to clean (as easy as cleaning an electric waffle maker comes). Overall very pleased and now a little heavier trying it out..
