If the ecoegg stays in the washing machine through the wash AND rinse cycles, is it not washing during the final old water rinseing?

My understanding is that the ecoegg assists the washing process by softening the water to allow the fabric fibers to open and release the soil. Consequently, it wouldn't matter if the ecoegg is left during the rinse cycle.

That’s a great question! Hmmmm. I’ve been using the egg for several months, maybe a year and can say with a 100% certainty that I can’t live without it! I have bad allergies and this is the only product that I’ve found to thoroughly clean and not make me sneeze, wheeze and itch! My clothes feel and smell clean, even better than detergent. While I cannot give you a scientific answer about the rinsing, I can assure you that my clothes feel more thoroughly “rinsed” than they would with traditional detergent. Try it!

Thank you for replies - very helpful. I will use the egg as per instructions & count the number of times it does complete washes to see how close to the 70 washes as stated on the pack. Something tells me that IF it was possible to remove the egg prior to the final rinse, the egg would last a little longer for actual washing?

I’ve been using eco egg for a few months now and love it. I do occasionally need to use a bit of chlorine bleach in some white loads. Will this hurt the egg or the pellets? I’ve searched everywhere for the answer. I know bleach isn’t eco friendly but need to use it on occasion.

I’ve used it since it was first avail on shopping network and am disappointed that it is not generally available for purchase on regular market. I absolutely love it and frequently add a little liquid detergent (just because I have it in hand) as well as Oxi Clean and bleach for stained rags. I bought what I could on the off market when I found it. Difficulty I have is opening eggs for refills. I keep wondering why there isn’t more of a clamor for it. I love white whites and mine all look teriffic.

I am sorry i have never encountered this. Maybe try 1 wash through with just egg alone. Then do a wash see if that solves issue

Hi, maybe there is to much washing in the drum. Apparently the egg needs sufficient water. My machine has intelligent washing and only uses the required amount. The egg didn't work for me. I'm not sure it does much at all I'm afraid.

Yes, the ecoegg can be used in all types of machines. Also, I read a review from someone who had the egg open while washing and pellets spilled into the drum of the washer. Accidents do happen sometimes. I have not had this happen. I do place the egg inside a small zippered mesh laundry bad used for delicates just in case something does happen.

Yes all types of machine. I've been using my Eco egg for years and have never had an accident where pellets have spilled If you're concerned place it in a small zippered 'delicate bag' as suggested by another user

Do you need to remove the ecoegg prior to rinse cycle which I have been trying to do but a pain to babysit my machine to get it out in time? No sales person on HSN addresses this issue.

Hello! In the U.S. and just saw this on HSN. About 15:25 into this video, https://youtu.be/GzTQOXXccNI, he says it stays in during the rinse cycle. Haven't decided if I'll get it yet, but hopefully this helps if you already have it!

I've been using the Eco egg now for 3 and a half years. I'm very allergic to the smell of soap powder so decided on this product.--so glad I did. Yes it can stay in the machine during the rinse cycle [don't babysit your wash] I have a top loader and since I've been using the Eco egg I ONLY use the rinse and then spin cycle- I don't even use the wash part of the cycle. We don't have small kids and it's only my husband and I and we do a lot of exercise so our clothes are mainly sweaty .I love the egg What's more I can walk past the soap powder aisle in the supermarket. The Egg comes with replacement pellets [white ones] I really love this product and will use nothing else now to wash our clothes. My product came with a tube of Ecoegg stain remover--good stuff. Good luck with your washing and really I can honestly say rinse and spin cycle is enough and leave the Egg in.

Hello J, no need to remove the egg during the rinse cycle as there is no soap involved. As mentioned above, you don't have to use the wash cycle. Just start on the rinse cycle. This saves time and water, thus saving more money.
