Biggest mistake of my life

There matching process is completely random ..apparently I’m paying for the young and fit people’s to find love

Mad and upset
Eharmony is scam
I received a letter from debt collector, I emailed back to them, they are not getting a cent from me. Eharmony is just a scam. They lured money from customers than they give services. Then I shredded the collection letter. I sent them a few emails, they never responded. They must be flooded with emails complaining about eharmony.

If you ignore the terrible customer service, the way they lock you into contracts, the way you can not delete your profile (even if like me you agree to pay but just want OFF this terrible site)... if you ignore those appalling aspects and focus on the actual app it only gets worse.
There are so few people on it that you simply see the same people despite deleting them as matches, you cannot filter out profiles with no pictures which is absurd, you cannot swipe so its clunky and old fashioned. The worst is there is just simply no men. Their adv

It is eharmony that is unashamedly doing the scamming. A bit of research on recent news proves it. I feel so bad for all who have been stung or have just signed up and paid & don’t know it yet. I can’t reply or see messages at the moment because I’m not renewing their “Premium subscription”- so my matches are getting a raw deal too by zero response from me. Good luck canceling your subscription and if you’re having issues definitely report them to ACCC.

Fraudulent account trying to chase money
Earlier this year I was the victim of credit card and identity theft. A fake profile was set up using my details. The moment I detected the fraud (along with other transactions) I cancelled my credit card and reported the issue to my bank and the police. Eharmony have been asked to provide IP records so the fraudulent activity can be traced. They refuse to cooperate and have sent me credit collection notices. As of today I have contacted the ACCC, who, interestingly, on 7 September, lodged formal action against Eharmony for their unscrupulous practices. Do not join Eharmony. They are complicit in fraud.
Total SCAM
I signed up and thought it was a 'pay by month' the same as tinder etc. After 1 week i was thoroughly unimpressed with the app and the types of people on there. So I went to cancel and was told i signed a 12 month subscription worth $550! what the hell!! then they said I have to keep payin g! what a joke! useless service, rude emails and why the hell would someone pay for a 12 month service when you will obviously not use it for that long! Currently taking them to court.

Misguided sales approach
I was targeted in their marketing campaign and subscribed. After a month of offensive messages and feeling uncomfortable on the app I wanted to cancel this. I was informed I must still pay for it for 12 months but it would be hidden. Absolutely disgusting!

Useless & Horrible
After finding my partner from other platform, when I requested to delete my account and cancel my subscription, this is the response I get - We have hidden your profile so no one will be able to see you or match you, however you still have to pay the subscription charges for next 12 months.
I mean are you serious….. means pay for something that you are not using.
It’s a total fraud and customer care people are hopeless, unwilling to understand the situation and just repeating the same story of payment of the subscription.
I hope Eharmony gets maximum complaints filed at ACCC against it and is closed permanently.

Terrible customer service and no help what so ever..
So i signed up for this a few months ago.. Anyway when i subscribed i didn't realise until after i couldn't cancel i was stuck on it for 12 months having to pay!! Contacted them they couldn't help and STILL charge for the next 12 months until its all paid up.. i think this is completely unfair especially when i didn't realise this was the case i just wanted to trial for a month so now im stuck TRYING to pay back small amounts its difficult enough already with other bills but to have them not even help by cancelling is a joke... So beware when signing up..

EHarmony are unethical and fraudulent
Please save yourself the headache and stay away from eHarmony.
I purchased a 6 month premium membership, met someone great early on and as I was unable to delete my account without contacting customer support, I hid my account and deleted the app. As the 6 month period has just ended, I have been charged nearly $500 for “uninterrupted service” for the continuing of my membership for another 12 months. They will not give me a refund or delete my account. EHarmony does not want you to actually meet someone, they just want to take your money forever and ever and ever.
Good luck trying to cancel
Its almost impossible to cancel Ur subscription.

Liars and false advertising!!
Eharmony is a joke. Their initial advertisement states its $13 something per month. So I signed up only to pay $20 plus and then be debited $20 afterwards.
My experience in finding a match was terrible! They kept recommending male profiles that didn't match my requirements and when I said no to a profile that same profile would appear multiple times and that happened with alot of profiles. I complained and asked them to delete my account and they said they wouldn't. I then sent multiple stern emails requesting them to delete it which they fina

Beware using eHarmony.
I unsubscribed in December 22 but have recently received a debit notice on my bank account.

I also lodged a complaint with ACCC and my bank.

My granddaughter signed me up after seeing me so unhappy due to a divorce.
My PayPal was linked to my phone so it took a payment of under $300.
I was straight on to the company to explain my problem and to get a refund but they refused even though I deleted the account straight away and explained it was meant to be free.. it was really upsetting to be honest for both my granddaughter and myself.
Shame on you horrible scammers!
It’s all about the money
eHarmony is a joke.
My credit card got stolen and is being investigated by my bank so I had to cancel all my direct debit payments.
eHarmony are still constantly hounding me with emails asking for payments that I can not make.
Federal Court proceedings happening against eHarmony - about time!
Finally something is being done. The ACCC is taking eHarmony to the Federal Court for their misleading and deceptive conduct which the ACCC says it has been happening since 2022. Don't quote me as I am not sure but you would think that the 3 day cooling off period would apply to eHarmony's customers in Australia even though eHarmony says in small print you cannot get the cooling off period if you are an Australian customer i.e. Australian law would be applicable even though they are a Canadian company. I hope eHarmony is shut down. I cringe eve

The ACCC said that they have had lots of complaints about eHarmony. I was lucky as eHarmony cancelled my subscription which I requested 2 months before my subscription expired and which they only did when I said I cancelled my credit card and wasn't going to renew it. I still had to pay for the last 2 months but at least I didn't get charged for a 12 month subscription like what happened to a lot of people. Thank you to all who lodged complaints with the ACCC.Locked in and can't stop payments
I no longer have need of the service and wish to stop paying membership only to be told I'm locked in for 12 months and they won't stop taking money. Does this mean everyone who finds someone and moves on pays for the balance of the year regardless very disappointed no other company locks you in like this.

Firstly there is no way that you see people's photos unless you pay for a subscription.
Subscriptions are presented in monthly amounts based on a 6/12/24 month term. You will be locked into that term regardless of any circumstance and they will send you to the debt collectors if you refuse to pay.
I used PayPal so I just canceled the subscriptions there but they sent the debt collectors and I had to pay anyway.

Eharmoney made me subscribed for 2 years. After one month I realized it was not useful. But they did not allow me to cancel my subscription. They kept deducting money from my account even after I change my card. After some time for some reason, they were unable to deduct money from me and emailed me that they will pass this to debt collector. Sounded very threatening to me. Such a crappy unprofessional company comparing tinder, netfilx those allow me to cancel my subscription any time.
Absolutely awful website! Not worth the money!!!
Save your money & don't bother. Terrible matches, lots of creepy people, the 'free' version is completely unusable so you have to commit to a long period to see how bad it is. Truly regrettable experience.
Terrible service
Eharmony is a total rip off. I joined the service and got no matches so after two weeks I tried to cancel my subscription. Despite the absence of results, two week usage and my requests, I was told that I was still liable for 12 months repayments (nearly $600) even though the service was unsuccessful.
Don’t use this service is my advice.
Fake profiles, scamming their users
Signed up for this service in the hope it might have been as it's marketing portrays, a site for serious dating, an effective platform to find serious relationships.
The truth is the complete opposite, once they have sucked you in its a money extraction tool that tricks its unknowing victims, debiting your credit card for renewal payments without notification or authorisation for circa $500, then threats of legal action and threats of debit recovery of large sums of money are not paid immediately.

Do not waste your money on this dating app, it is absolutely garbage! I used it a handful of times and its horrid. It aims to be the real deal but it is the most stupidest online dating app there is.
I've been single for 6 years and thought I might look into dating again. Well, nope, this site doesn't offer anything. The site portrays itself as it's got all the bells and whistles but it doesn't, it's useless. Garbage, and wish I'd read other reviews first.

Removing matches is time consuming. When they reappear it wastes many hours of my time. The 50% off 1st 2 payments was nice. Almost makes up for the frequent errors but not quite . Nope for me
You can't even view messages from people without paying. I am on a low wage so I absolutely refuse to waste money on a dating app when there is not even a guarantee I will find someone on there. In the past with dating apps, I have met people on dates and ended up with complete weirdos/stalkers and have even been sexually assaulted by 2 men from online dates. I haven't used a dating app in a while because of these experiences, and paying for a dating app does not promise me that I will not get creeps, and it does not mean that these men are not creeps just because they pay for this service. I WILL NOT PAY when there is a chance of experiencing sexual assault again. Thanks but no thanks. I give up.
