Hi The freezer door handle has become loose & the only instruction I can find is to tighten the screw hidden behind the handle with an allen key/wrench. I cant find a detailed instruction & at present the allen key isnt budging the screw in either direction. I dont want to damage the appliance or make the handle worse.
Any ideas?

undo the screws (top and bottom) and take the handle off - then reset the "boss" into the door frame.

French door left hand side with spring. Spring detached or faulty and left door seal needs to be closely guided in to track each time door is closed. Has anyone had the spring replaced. Is it easy to fix yourself?. Can you download a parts list with repair guidelines?

Spring is relatively easy to fit. Parts list readily supplied from FP website and use that part no for a supplier to provide. Spring comes with installation guide too. I paid about $28 for spring. Took about 4 mins to install. Wife very happy now!!!

It just runs really quite almost silent, yes It's heating up and functioning as it should.

Mari

It isn't completely silent. When I was buying the fridge, I had read reviews that it was a really noisy fridge and I have it in an open planned kitchen. I really liked the design and decided I would take the risk. The hum it makes isn't what I would refer to as noisy and has never bothered us at all.

there is a button inside the upper right hand side of the fridge that turns the alarm off, however if you open the door and the alarm sounds straightaway then you may have an issue with the fridge, refer to your user manual or Fischer and Paykel

How does the water dispenser go - it looks really shallow compared with other designs. Seems like you'd have to jam the glass right up against it. Any issues with dribbling?

Vic

Yes you hold glass or bottle against tag and it dispenses instantly and stops without drips also instantly on release. It doe have a small drip tray but I have never had to empty it. A light comes on while water is being dispensed.

We brought the unit without the dispenser unit, so sorry i can't give you an answer to your question

We have a constant whining noise coming from the fridge and cannot locate the source can you help?

Rosco513

I read other reviews and I am pretty sure someone who had the same problem ended up with a dead compressor. I'd contact technical support and suggest that the noise maybe that and that you are worried of food spoilage.

fisher_man
fisher_man

Cannot be constant - when the compressor stops the fans also stop.
There are soooo many things that can cause a whining noise,
faulty compressor, freezer/ fridge circulation fans, pipes moving in the insulation.
Call an F&P technician.

There are two models, with & without the filter & ice maker, we bought the model with the filter & ice maker. After initially being concerned with reliability down the track we were convinced enough to go with it. So far, excellent.

The model we bought has it all included. After our first one died within a month I must say that so far the replacement is performing beautifully.

The spring that controls the flap on the left hand door so that it slips into the runner seems to have become dislodged. Can you explain how and where it should sit so that we can put it back in place? It's driving us nuts to have to close the left door first every time and manually guide it in!

hi there I have the 3 door fridge freezer the handle on the freezer draw has some how come unscrewed I see that you need an alenkey however it will not screw back on is there a trick to this?

Unfortunately I cannot assist you as our doors have the Allen Key screws well covered.

If it doesn't screw back tightly then I would suggest that the thread has been stripped and would require some sort of bolt on the inside of the frame.

fisher_man

Undo both allen head bolts, remove handle, tighten Philips head bolts into door, reattach handle, tighten allen head bolts.

Its not instant making ice. If you have done settings as per instructions wait 24hr. Machine probably still. Making ice.

Dedbny

Also did you purge enough to get all air out of line. Give it a bit of time and it should start working.

Thank you Dedny. Woke this morning to no ice. We can hear the icemaker trying to turn to offload the ice but it doesnt turn. We think it has something to do with the mechanics of the machine.

Hi, We've had this model since January 2015.
It's been great until the last few weeks when we noticed that the items aren't cold enough. Food and milk have started going off quickly. Even the bread in the freezer is no longer rock hard.
We have a thermometer designed for measuring fridge/freezer temperatures, with markings for advised temps. Ours is showing well above these.
Fridge temp is between 11 and 15deg, and freezer only down to about -10deg.
I think this problem has been developing gradually without our really noticing it.
Experimenting with the temperature control changes little. In fact, contrary to what the instruction book says, the temperature is actually cooler with more lights. Currently I have it on full lights and the temperature inside fridge is 13.5. Foolishly last night I set the temperature in the other direction, a little below half lights, and food had spoiled overnight, temp reading this am was 15-16deg.
We need some help please!! (Brunswick, Victoria)

Thanks, I phoned late this afternoon and someone is coming on Monday morning! Much quicker than I expected given the number of people on here who say service is bad.
I'll try to remember to update here with results.

Dotty
Dotty

Well, here I am again! I forgot to update that all was good for a couple of years after the fridge was taken away to repair a gas leak.
BUT! the same problem appears to be happening again. I'm in the process of testing the temperature in various parts of the fridge/freezer.
The freezer this morning was +1deg in the bottom drawer and +3deg in the top drawer.
Fridge was between 12 & 14 degrees.
I've changed the temperature settings and am leaving the fridge closed for minimum 3 hours.
I'll phone F&P this afternoon, but I'm not expecting much because the fridge, now more than 4 years old, is well out of warranty.
