I have recently connected the Epson XP-100 to my MacBook Pro, and downloaded appropriate driver. When I want to print I get this message: "Can't open"/private/var/spool/cups/tmp....." and then a whole jumble of letters and numbers. Have also restarted the Mac and used new cord between printer and computer. What's happening here?

I have blue banding across page when printing it is almost like a blue background. Any help?

I'm not a technician so have no idea what would cause this. Perhaps the print heads are broken. Printers are one of the small appliances that are never repaired - just thrown away and replaced with a new one. However, you should contact Epson Help Desk on 1300 361 054 and speak to a technician.

I have just installed new ink cartridges and the printer won't work. There are now 2 lights flashing on the stop/maintenance button whereas before the ink change there was only 1. I have tried all the options I have found, but cannot get the cartridges to return to the position to remove. I saw Dawn's answer but can find none of these headings in my printer page. Help, please? Gotta love printers!!

I am attempting to replace ink cartridges but I can’t get access to the cartridges as when I push button they come out but then immediately got back. How can I fix this?

On Desktop click "Epson Software" - click "User's Guide" - click "Printing" - click "Ink Handling" - click "Replacing an Expended Ink Cartridge"
Choose either
"Using the printer buttons"
or
"Using your computer"
follow instructions

My Epson XP 100 printer s
tart light, ink and paper lights are all flashing, yet ink is full and paper is in, and this just happened after printing several sheets successfully. I've looked up lots of sites online and the main suggestion is that the waste ink tray needs replacing. Has anyone done this and could a moderately printer-savvy person do it or does it need an expert? Or is there any other possible cause for these flashing lights?

I have never experienced the problem you are having. Have you tried turning the printer 'off' and 'on' again? I have no idea what a waste ink tray is or where it is located. You could try phoning Epson Support on 1300 361 054 for technical help.

Thank you Dawn Craig. Yes, I've tried the 'off' and 'on' again thing many times, and it doesn't make a difference. I'm in New Zealand tho - I'll see whether there's a help line here. Good thought.

Sorry, can't help. Have never experienced this problem. Perhaps there is a paper jam. You could try phoning Epson Support section. They may be able to help.

My Epson xp 100 printer is only printing blank sheets from computer and from printer. Ink is high. Have tried turning off and on several times. Can you help?

I have never experienced this problem. Can only suggest you look up the User Manual for Print Troubleshooting. Otherwise you could phone Epson in Sydney and speak to a technical adviser.

I got printer to work by shaking the ink cartridges. The coloured inks worked well but black only partly worked even though it was fairly full.

My printer is printing faded and semi-blank lines. Just replaced the black cartridge. Suspect it is a printer head problem. How do I check/fix this?

Hi Mark
All I can suggest is to right click on the Epson icon on desktop which brings you to Status Monitor. You can then either do a Nozzle Check, Head Clean or Print Head Alignment. If none of this works it probably means the printer has died. Have you checked out the User Manual? Having said that, I have found the manual to be pretty much useless. Have always bought Epson printers but the quality these days is terrible! Sorry I can't offer any further suggestions. Good luck!

How do I get at the black cartridge in order to change it for a new one?

Instructions should be in the User Manual in the installation software. Otherwise go to Control Panel
click on Printers & Faxes
click on Epson XP100
click on Printer at top left corner
click on Properties on drop down list
click on Printing Preferences
click on Maintenance in next window
click on Ink Cartridge Replacement and follow the steps

When I used to scan a photo on my old printer scanner (don't know the type or model,) the image I saved just showed the photo on my computer. But my Epson XP100 shows the whole scanner background around the photo saved to my computer, wherever I place the photo. How do I remove this white background from the image? I see an option in the scanning menu called 'trim' and it is ticked 'on'. How do I trim around the photo image? (I have just upgraded to Windows 10, ) Felicity B.

I'm sorry I can't help you because my problem with the XP-100 is that I am totally unable to use the scanning facility. According to Microsoft this is because my computer's operating system is Windows XP. I can only suggest you contact Epson Customer Support on 1300 361 054. I hope this helps.

I have a HP Microsoft 10 computer, but am unable to use my EPSON XP-100 as it is not compatible. I will need any details you can give me to pass on to HP so that they will accept the Epson. Can't help you I'm sorry. I'm not an IT tech. You'd be better off talking to HP, or your local computer shop.

I have a Laptop operating on Windows 10 and was able to install the Epson XP-100 successfully. I also have an old desktop still running on Windows XP which is where I have the problem. Installed from the software provided with the printer but can only use the printing function, not the scan. Very unsatisfactory answers from Epson, who told me to contact Microsoft, which I did and the operator just stated briefly that, although I could print, I would not be able to scan. Very unhelpful. I would suggest you contact Epson and I hope you receive better service than I did. Good luck!

Hi there!! I bought Epson xp-100 1 year ago, recently I can able to print the black and white paper anymore due to the colourful ink running out. but the problem is I never used colorful print and I guess the ink just dry out. Anyone knows how to deal with this problem??? Do I really need to buy a new colorful ink even thought I never use colourful print???? Thanksssss!!!!!

I'm sorry but unable to help. I have never experienced this problem. It might be worth contacting Epson, although I found the person I spoke to about my problem was obviously not interested and terminated the conversation without giving me any assistance. Their customer service seems to be pretty much non-existent. Good luck!

Hi! I brought a new computer and epson xp-100 for kids homework got home set it all up to find there's no cable for printer to computer. Where do I buy 1 from as the guy at Harvey Norman said it's the best printer for this computer so I went for it.
So not impresses.

a lot of devices seem to come without cables and you have to buy it as an extra, so it's always good to check the contents when you buy something like this. . Maybe go back to Harvey Norman, I'm sure they'll be happy to sell you one; or any electronics retailer. Do you have an electronics recycling centre at your local tip, or tip shop.....you might be able to find one there. Good luck.
