My Dyson D37 power head makes a poping noise when engaged. I have checked for blockage and checked the filter. Any suggestions?

A popping sound usually indicates an obstruction within the airways of your machine. We encourage running through the checks outlined via the link below which should help get your machine back up and running as it should:

Is there a power head suitable for the DC37c? I have a dog who sheds a lot and it is impossible to remove her hair from the carpet with the all purpose head that came with the machine. the machine was a christmas present from my daughter a couple of years ago.

There's a turbo head which works ok. They use air to spin the brush.
A power head has a separate electric motor in the head which spins the brush and are much better, not available for your dyson.
The main reason we switched to hoover was to get a proper power head and a bag vac so no regular cleaning of filters to maintain suction

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

For higher performance on carpets, we have a Turbine Head available for the DC37C. This features spinning brushes to dig into carpets and remove more dust, dirt and pet hair. You can find this tool here: https://shop.dyson.com.au/accessories/turbine-head-911566-05

We hope this helps, however if we can assist further our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to assist.

Try spraying some WD40 in behind the wheels to free them up.

While the wheels of your DC37C's head aren't designed to come off, we encourage using a pair of needle nosed pliers or tweezers to remove any debris stuck behind them. We encourage avoiding any lubricants on any part of your machine.

I recently purchased a car cleaning kit designed for the newer hand held vacuums with the red dot attachments to use with my DC37C. Is there an adapter to attach the newer tools to a crescent clip hose attachment?

1 answer

We do apologise for any disappointment, the car cleaning kit designed for V7, V8, V10 and V11 machines won't fit on a DC37C and at this stage, there isn't an adaptor to suit.

When putting in the filter on the DC37C, I can't quite click the handle part that goes on top of it into place. It's like the blue circular spring loaded ring on the filter is not going in far enough. Bought a new filter, but same thing.

Our Dyson DC37C purchased late 2014 has become VERY noisy when operating.
We have cleaned it thoroughly and checked all places for blockages but it still continues to be noisy and make this constant "popping" sound. It doesn't cut off even though it is making all this noise.
Can you enlighten us as to what is happening please?

Hi Guys, I bought the Barrel Dyson DC37C origin some time ago from Aldi - the only thing I don't like it to a point I am going to give it away is it makes an horrible noise - very loud squeaking - when used on tiles. That is in both head positions. And my house is mainly tiles. Is anything I can do or just put it in the bin?
Pls reply also to my email address [email removed]

I want to clean the Wheel on the cleaner head as there is alot of hair and dust stuck at the joint and is slowing down the movement of the wheel.

Is there a way to take the wheel off??

1 answer
Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

We're afraid the large wheels on the floor tool haven't been designed to be detached, Sumi.

If you aren't able to remove enough of the hair manually, then the next step would be to replace the floor tool. If your machine is over 2 years old, feel free to purchase the replacement part on our website:

Here are some replacement tool options:

If the machine is less than 2 years old, and under the Dyson guarantee, please contact our experts with your details and machine's serial number to advise that you're experiencing this issue. Our email address is [email protected].

I want to get Triggerhead to use on DC37C. However, the dyson website states that the triggerhead is compatible for DC39. Will the same triggerhead work on DC37C. Also, do I need to get triggerhead wand handle as well for the triggerhead to work. I have wand handle on DC37C at the moment i.e. the one without the triggerhead button.

1 answer
Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Please be assured the Triggerhead will work with a spinning brushbar on your DC37C, regardless of what handle you have.

That being said, should you wish to be able to turn the Triggerhead's rotating brushbar off for hard floors or delicate floor surfaces, you would require the Triggerhead Wand Handle (which has an additional button) to enable this. This handle can be found via this link: https://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/wand-handle-923081-01

We hope this helps, however if we can assist further, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help.

While the DC37C and the Big Ball Origin come with similar accessories, the Big Ball Origin is a newer machine with the following features:
- New mechanism to hygienically eject the dirt from the bin
- Self rights when toppled
- Longer wand

We hope this helps, however if you have any further queries, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to assist.

what is the cost of a new motor?

1 answer
Dyson

Should the motor of your DC37C need replacing, we would encourage getting in touch with our Dyson Experts via [email protected].

Servicing (outside of the Dyson guarantee) is $85 for labour and transport, with the only additional cost being parts. Motor costs are usually under $100 (at time of writing). While we are unable to quote your machine without inspecting it, we offer a no obligation quote.

If we can assist further, please don't hesitate to forward us your details, we are only happy to help.

My 4-year-old DC37C stopped working today while I was using it. It stopped and restarted itself as I picked it up to move it - this happened 3 times, then it stopped permanently and refused to start even after waiting for one hour. I had already cleaned the pre-filter, emptied the dust out and cleaned the plastic outer and brushed the outside of the canister - prior to using. We have disassembled the cinetic ball and want to know how to detach the post filter in order to clean it. Also we want to check inside the canister to see if it is clogged. Also, as there was no burning smell or noise when the machine stopped, can we assume that the motor is still alive? (My husband is quite handy).

Can it be used to vacuum up liquids/ water or is it purely for vacuuming dry things like dust? I used mine to vacuum up water from washed couch cushions and it smelled like smoke and stopped working.

Definitely not for liquids.
Never.
I've sneaked a lil bit of liquid here n there when vacuuming with it n it is a PITA to clean afterwards n blocks up easier n it's just not meant for anything but dry vacumming.

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your question.

The best accessory for picking up pet hair from carpet is the Turbine head which can be purchased for $129 with free postage from https://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/turbine-head-906565-32.

There is no "DC37" released on the Australian market.
