We pre-ordered and waited willingly for MONTHS for this new beauty to finally be delivered. I chose it because of all the oven features especially the twin fan system I was comparing to SMEGS new portofino at the time. Mainly, I proceeded with the long await time for these to be manufactured due to how the cooktop burners were laid out, and the fact that one burner was a brass burner. I'm one of those people that research for months between brands before making a thoroughly educated purchase with my hard earned money. Boy was I disappointed! Fi...
Read morerstly, the call centre seems to be offshore India, so as polite as the call centre staff are in taking your details, they just don't seem to understand your frustration as an Australian consumer when you pay thousands of dollars and receive a lemon. The oven works fine. That isn't my issue. The large gas burners are a major issue. I have had Fisher Paykel out on two occasions complaining about my burners either not staying on at all, or spontaneously turning off once they are on. They try and tell me the draft is blowing the gas out-rubbish! There is a clicking sound and then it turns off! Quite simple. However the biggest issue is actually spending at times 10-20 minutes getting the burner to stay on!This is excruciatingly frustrating! Both times the service men came they saw the issue and said because I'm running on natural gas I have to let the gas run for longer before it will stay on. Also not true- stay tuned ill tell you why. The first time they replaced two of my knobs and said it will work fine. Once they left I still had the same issue. I have been dealing with this frustrating issue almost a year now and I wish I had never bought the cooker for this reason alone. I feel like FP just took my money and I'm left with a lemon of a cooktop-not oven. I have realized of late that after spending many days almost brought to tears trying to get a burner to stay on that if I press really hard on the knob it seems to work better and will turn on within 3 or so seconds (which absolutely disproves the service men that tried to tell me I have to hold the knob for 5-10 second to try and get thugs running through!! My previous gas cooktop which was a super cheap model always turned on first go for over 12 years until I replaced it with this FP model so I am absolutely certain it isn't my gas line needing to be primed for 5-10 seconds. Fisher Paykel need to get their act together. This is a very well known issue with their gas cooktops and they need to figure out what the solution is because many people are in this same scenario with a limited 2 years warranty. In my experience it seems to be and issue with the inside workings of the knobs. I would never buy fisher paykel again for a freestanding cooker. The only reason I gave two stars is for the oven features and the overall look of the cooker.

For the price you pay this oven isn't really worth the investment. It has a lovely design, but it's pointless if it doesn't work properly and can't get it repaired. Even though I'm only 40 minutes from the GPO. So despite spending more than 5 hours on the phone over several days to get it repaired, no one at F&P follows up, lots of promises but no-one comes through. I'm stuck with a $5000 oven that doesn't work properly. In our previous home we owned a Smeg (about half the price) and after 15 years never skipped a beat and having it servic...
Read moreed was never an issue. Despite the servicing issues, I can't see the value of buying this oven compared with say a Smeg or an Ilve. It's not very intuitive to use, too many bells and whistles and not enough focus on usability. Got sucked in with the styling of this one. Very disappointing. Not recommended.Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $5,000.
