Great product
Excellent machine. Built well, washes great, looks good, simple easy to understand controls. Especially love the one touch button that can be programmed to bring up your fav settings. Clothes in, detergent in, press one button and start. Brought as a replacement for an older F&P top loader and main difference is the motor is super quiet - you can hear the movement of the drum and water sloshing but not much more. Ignore the one star energy rating if you only wash cold - it washes in cold water perfectly and this makes it more energy efficient than front loading machines that often need hot water to wash well. Zero problems with clothing wear for me. Highly recommend.

Love this machine.
Great washing machine. Wash cycle is quick and when you are busy that's what you want. It is gentle on your wash but cleans very well. I am very fussy when it comes to my washing and I couldn't be happier with this machine. I highly recommend the Fisher & Paykel QuickSmart Top Loader.

VERY RELIABLE WASHING MACHINE
the MW60 Fisher and Paykel gives me a perfect cycle wash every time without any wear to my clothes, it is an extremely quiet machine and superbly reliable. Having had a Fisher and Paykel 5.5 kg top loader previously which also was trouble free for more than 14 years it was a no brainer to purchase another Fisher and Paykel in which I have complete confidence and certainly recommend to anyone looking for a quality top loader washing machine

Great machine
I have consistently found Fisher & Paykel machines to be really good, so bought one again when we moved to Sydney last year. The clothes come out much cleaner and the wash cycle is quick. Also the wash itself is quite quiet, although the spin is noisier. The only downside is that I have had some shirt buttons destroyed on one particular shirt, but I now wash it in a laundry bag and the problem hasn't reoccurred. I would recommend this machine.

Love it
Would recommend this machine to anyone, it is very easy to use with water temperature cold, warm and hot, low, medium or high water levels and a multi speed spin cycle. It is quiet during the cycle and sends out a couple of beeps when it has finished. Also has a pause function which is great when you to soak the load before washing

don't buy
This machine will destroy your clothes. Pulls threads on tee shirts and towels. pulls stitches on sheets and generally wears through your treasured cotton items. Why bother. Vicious. Might as well stick your clothes in a concrete mixer for the same results. Sent my one back the very next day after purchase.

Very good all round solid performer
We have had the MW60 washing machine just over 1 week and have done about 5 or 6 loads of washing with no complaints.
It was purchased from Appliancesonline and the delivery staff delivered, unpacked, installed and tested the machine, also removing our older machine free of charge. The older machine was a Simpson that provided at least 15 years of service.
The agitator has a smooth and gentle washing style that should not wear out our clothes.
It is a very quiet machine in all cycles and so far it has not had an unbalanced load.

Terrible machine, awful customer service
We bought our machine 6 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. It beeps at me constantly, and I have to redistribute the weight of the washing, or remove half the load for it to manage the spin cycle. We have had a technician out 3 times and each time he leaves us with the same problem, and tells us to call customer service. I cannot wash two towels at once, or a bath mat, or a full set of bed sheets. I usually have to wash 4 items at a time. This is NOT a 6kg machine. I don't know if I just have a faulty product - but F&P keep fobbing me off. I just want my money back now - I wish I'd never bought it. Be warned!!!

Exactly what I need
Bought this 6kg Fisher n Paykel machine second hand for $100 as he bought it for one of his units and recently sold the unit so didn't need it anymore. Did a bit of research first and I decided to buy it as it received the best reviews from this website so I was willing to risk the $100. was it worth the gamble? Definitely was!!! 10x better than my previous 5.5kg Simpson which only lasted 3years but was second hand as well though.
The fisher and Paykel doesn't use a belt to spin the barrel as it s direct drive. It's so quiet I literally had to check if it was running. Spin cycle is great too and it is all I need for my wife and I. Best $100 I've spent :-)

Really very happy with it, have always used this brand
Rinses brilliantly and washes just as well, great size for large loads and still washes them thoroughly, would highly recommend, they are a well known brand and offer great customer service via either phone or email. Also have same brand fridge which I kust love. If you are looking for a great machine, buy it

After eleven months, all is still sweetness and light
I bought the Fisher & Paykel QuickSmart 6kg top loader in a hurry eleven months ago after the failure of my previous Simpson washer of three years (of which I posted a parting review). I was favourably predisposed to the Fisher & Paykel brand (I already had one of their refrigerators), and I haven't been disappointed so far.
I'm a single bloke, so my requirements in a washing machine are fairly unsophisticated. Like any other modern washing machine, it has many options that I will likely never have cause to investigate. ("Delicates"? Wha...Read more
t are they?) I gave the QuickSmart its biggest challenges recently when I washed (as separate loads) a blanket and a woollen fleece mattress overlay for a double bed. Getting those items into the relatively small 6kg washer took some patience, but once they were in, the washer handled them without complaint. After pulling out the mattress overlay, I had to manually remove bundles of shed fleece fibres from the tub, but I didn't hold that against the washer as I would regard washing such an item as an exceptional demand on the machine. I was very pleasantly surprised by a couple of new (to me) features of the QuickSmart washer. Firstly, there's no lint filter to clean. With my previous washer, I religiously picked at and rinsed out the little lint bag after every wash, so I was pleased to be rid of that ritual.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Top loader vs front loader - a household divided!
One-year update: All is good! My initial impressions (below) remain unchanged. The MW60 just works, I have gotten used to using it and as said before, my wife really like it. I still hang around when I've put a heavy load in it just to make sure it's OK on the spin but I don't have to intervene very often.
So, time to put the money saved into something else!

ut we needed a machine "today" (well, Harvey Norman Belrose delivered it "tomorrow" which is much faster than I would have expected from anyone), and most importantly, my wife knows these machines as they have (seemingly?) been around for a long time, and she wanted another one like it. While it's early days yet, I wanted to post some thoughts on the decision of top loader vs front loader.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very Happy
We needed to replace our old F&P topload washing machine when if finally gave up after about fifteen years of family of five washing. Basically the new 7kg machine is the closest replacement in terms of size and function although it has a few new options such as auto fill. My wife (ie the primary washer-person) is very happy with the new machine. She runs it on 'warm' and so far has had no problem with lint but we have only been using it for a few weeks. We like the fast spin on the F&P machines which gets things pretty dry before hanging out. It was also on special at the Good Guys which made it an easy choice.

Easy to use so far so good
Very easy to use making sure I am using liquid only and I am going to try to run a clean cycle once a week as well clean dispenser. The only worry I had was about there being no lint bag. Hoping it continues no lint has come up yet no powder as I using liquid dissolved in a little water. Everything I researched seem be lint is a problem in most new machines these days. So I thought I will try looking after machine making sure I follow all instructions with clothing. The machine is great with washing so far clothes come out clean. But again prevention hopefully will help keep machine healthy. Great price too. Ask me again in 12 mths cause that will show how good it is.

Easy to install and use
Easy to install and easy to use. I choose a smaller washing machine than I have had in the past, as my family has all left home. I was surprised just how much this smaller machine holds. The washer runs really quiet which is good when you have an internal laundry.
Holds more than you expect and spins the wash really well so drying time is shorter.

Very happy with this purchase
Cannot fault this washer. Whilst only a month old and with about ten washes or more done, we have used just about every setting to try them all out. The clothes seem to be cleaner and drier, there has been no tangling or lint problems. It is very easy to operate and the instruction manual is very comprehensive. The Smart Drive technology attracted us, not having to worry about stretched or noisy belts. (Our old 20+years Simpson did a good job, but not as good as this one.)

Great except for one problem
I have owned the 6kg Quicksmart for a couple of weeks and it is a good washing machine. I only really use the regular cycle and it gets through a full load very fast compared to other brand washers I have used. The fast spin is really effective as well. It is very quiet which is great for washing at night.
The only complaint I have is that when the high water level is selected the water is splashed around a lot and it doesn't matter what is washed it still splashes the water out of the bowl. I have tried less clothes and then more clothes bu...Read more
t it still splashes water everywhere. I simply put it down to a design fault which is a shame because otherwise this is a very good purchase. Fast cycle times, effective spin speed, quiet motor Splashes water out of the bowl on high water levelsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I am not sure about MW60. Mine is MW511 and yes, you can do cold only washing with MW511.
In fact, I am mostly do cold only washing.

Hi, we got our new MW60 yesterday and I am going crazy trying to figure out how to do just a cold wash. Seems that you can't change the temp setting on this one (warm wash seems to be it's thing) and that is upsetting as we only ever used cold wash with our other smart drive that was 18yrs old. Can anyone help with my dilemma.

Hi,my F/P quicksmart which is 2,5 yers old never had a problem, just now suddenly as I was going to startmy usual wasing after turning it on and trying to set it sarted beeping and can't do any programming, not letting change just a few lights on and beeping even after i turn it off at the power point because can't even turn off on the machine itself, it goes on for about 10sec than it stops beeping and ....any idea what can be done? Part from calling a service man.... Thank you

Hi margi
It is hard to diagnose the problem without seeing it could be the top board were you turn it on .which is about 80$ depending were you live if in Australia.the other thing could be the lid safety switch try tapping the lid or make sure the lid is fully closed if you lift the lid to the up position it will lift straight out and you can clean it .hopefully it's not the main board as its about 150$ for that board and if you can't do it yourself the service Guy is going to charge his labor on top of that .hope this helps
