What does error code 112 mean??

Mr Peter
Mr Peter ·

Hi I am a repair person who has researched extensively the error 112 on the f and p. So have other friends of mine who are very competent.. We cannot repair these circuit boards with the error 112. We have tried and tried. We are under the impression that the fault is in the cpu and can't be repaired. I suggest that you search gumtree. Com brisbane in washing machine and dryer section. You will find repaired circuit boards that had other faults. These boards will be fine., they are between 50 to 80 dollars depending on who is selling.. Definitely worth buying one.

No fuse.
If no lights/ tune when power turned on then controller faulty.
If lights/ tune but button not turn on then display controller faulty.

I am not a WM mechanic, I have a different model to yours, my model doesn't give fault codes in numbers. Sorry I can't help.

fisher_man

Need to select the size of the machine
the Controller can fit different sized machines.
Documentation with controller will tell you how to set the size.

Hi Aceking, how did you go with your machine. I have the same model number as your, and I think I need a controller board I was wondering where did you purchase your from and how much. Is it easy to put in (or fix) Thank in advance for your reply.

Shiran
Shiran ·

aceking- to get the to the size setting, press and hold the Lifestyles options button and left scroll button together till the size setting screen comes up. F&P should include instructions for this model in their instructions sheet when they send out new controllers.

Sandra
Sandra ·

I didn’t get a copy of the instructions in the box. Can I find them on line or has some one else already done this who can give a quick explanation? I have tried the lifestyles button but am unable to bring up washer size in any of the choices. Thanks

My washing keeps being stopped with the “Help! I can't LOCK THE LID. Close lid and press START" message but the lid is already closed. Is something wrong with my washing machine? What can I do? What parts do I need if I need one?

rtsm
rtsm ·

I'm sorry if I've given anyone tge idea that I'm anything but a very happy F&P Washing Machine owner.

My review was to hopefully help people who are looking at purchasing this machine.

But I am unable to help with your technical problems, etc. I suggest you get in touch with the place you purchased from or F&P Customer Service.

Good luck: )

fisher_man
fisher_man ·

The machine thinks the lid isn't locked, even though it is.
To open lid, lift up hard. it will pop open.
The first thing I would try is another lid lock - It locked, but didn't tell the controller.

Water is leaking from the lid. This started happening after I had washed a pillow and it must have gotten stuck because the pillow was ripped and tiny fragment pieces of plastic from the machine came out too. It's a fisher and paykel top loader fabricsmart model number wa80t65fw1. I have checked the diverter valve if there was any plastic stuck in it but there wasn't any. Any tips is much appreciated. Thanks

Izzy
Izzy ·

Sorry I don't know. It's funny how it's leaking as the water is nowhere near the lid. Maybe the jam has effected the auto water level indicator and now it is overfilling? Try selecting the level manually.

WA80T65FW1 won't power up - no display panel showing
power point is working
is there a fuse somewhere?
have removed display panel section and there isn't a fuse
visible just the power board and wiring

fisher_man
fisher_man ·

No fuse, most likely controller faulty - call F&P technician.

No fuse, just sorted my f&p fabricsmart. The motor contoll unit had blown. Make sure everything is unplugged etc. remove the lcd screen/ cover. Only 2 screws. Module is bright yellow/ orange. I took mine out. Take note or pics where all the wires go. Once you have the brightly coloured module out . Just pop the cover to have a look inside. DO NOT TOUCH THE CAPACITORS INSIDE !
the brightly covered cover will have burn/ scorch marks on the inside.
Just order a new one from f&p and refit new module.
Once turned on you will need to select the drum size otherwise fault code 9 keeps coming up. Hold down lifesyles and left arrow button after turning on. Select drum size and your good to go :)

Hi, I have a Fisher and Paykel top loader Model WA80T65FW1. It has recently started beeping and stopping and then restarting in the middle of a wash. When it gets to the Rinse 1 cycle with 20 minutes to go it cuts out and says power cut. It resumes some seconds later and restarts again. After about 30 seconds it again cuts out and repeats itself. If I advance the wash past this point it continues with the wash until the end without any further problems. Can you give me an indication of what might be wrong with it.

My F & P Fabric Smart machine will not release cold water into the machine. I have tried replacing the hose and the cold water will still not go into the machine (and yes it is set to a temperature of cold, not hot).

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Our WA8OT65FW1 Top Loader is now 3 years old and has started to continually beep every 5 seconds when first filling and also when rinse filling. There are no warning numbers or lights displayed and it never used to. The wash completes and its all good just the beeping all the time?

JCMum12
JCMum12 ·

sco, I wonder if possible something to do with the water inlets, ie. you're setting a warm wash cycle but only have the cold water inlet open? Or there is some sort of blockage ?

sco
sco ·

Thanks JCMum12, Have both hoses attached and only use Cold Water and CW setting from day one and Yes agree it sounds like a Blockage hey and not sure where to start have disconnected hoses and checked unless something internal?

Fisher & Paykel
Fisher & Paykel ·

Cold tap has not been turned on.
Cold water temperature exceeds recommended limits
Hot water supply is not hot enough to maintain the wash temperature you have selected.
Select a lower wash temperature.
Inlet hose screens may be blocked.
There may be a kink in the hose
Hot tap has not been turned on.
Inlet hoses connected to the wrong taps.
The flow rate of the supply water is too slow.

Contact Fisher and Paykel they should be able to help with that question.

JCMum12

Bowie - If you have followed a process of turning machine off at power point, wait before turning it back on, making sure machine is leveled, remove the wash load, perform rinse cycle and it is still giving you a fault then you will need to call Fisher & Paykel. Hope you sort it out. I have the 10kg WA1068P and have had no faults, but the installation instructions/user guides does not list the fault codes and their meanings anyway.

I have replaced the motor controller board and now need to set up the size, eg, fault code 9 is showing, what do I need to hold down on power up out do to fix this please?

jberth
jberth ·

From the manual for fault code 9 :

'9. (0001001) Size Switch Sensor

The display size switch setting does not match that stored in the memory.

Primary Source – Display Module 2 & 3
Action – If the display module for phase 2 or 3 has just been inserted into a console housing than check that the two size switch plungers accurately locate onto the console housing. If this fault has appeared during normal operation of the machine, check the size switch or replace the Display Module.
Action Phase 2 & 3
If the Motor Controller has been changed from one size machine to another, than the size switch setting in the memory will have to be reset. This can be done by entering and exiting the Option Adjustment Mode. Push and hold START/PAUSE then push POWER button.
Action Phase 4
Reselect the size of the machine by using the SIZE SETTING MODE. Push and hold the water temp up button then press the power button, to select the size of the machine push the temperature up button until the cold LED is on for 5kg machines, push the water level up button until the low water LED is on for the 6kg machine and push the spin speed up LED for the 7kg.'

Cheers

Thanks for your help, Jberth, unfortunately that process is not for the later model FabricSmart smartdrive machines like mine, which have the LCD display panel.

However, I managed to find a very blurry and hard to read service page on the net; here's the fix:
1. Turn on the power to the machine at the wall;

2. The fault code 9 message shows, turn off the power by pressing the power button on the machine;

3. Press and hold the left scroll button and the Option/Lifestyle button (on some machines this is apparently the 'High Efficiency' button);

4. The size setting mode should now show, use the scroll buttons to select the size of your machine; in my case, the machine comes in 7 or 8kg models, so I selected the right most option. You will need to do some research about what sizes your particular machine comes in, and obviously what size you own, so that you can select the right option.

5. With the correct size option selected, simply press the power button to set it. Power it back on and voilà!

As a background, our 4 year old machine completely stopped with no power, no message, no nothing during the spin and pump cycle. I suspected the pump had died and maybe caused the control board to fail. However, a resistance reading of the cable which leads to the pump showed a reading of about 66 ohms, which appeared to show that it was OK.

I suspected the motor controller board but could see no obvious damage and the fuse was still OK. Nothing much for it but to replace it with fingers crossed, given the board is $130 delivered and that's about the same cost to get the technician out BEFORE any parts cost on top once they diagnose the problem.

In my case this fixed the problem and we're back in business. Replacing the board is not really hard to do but:
1. Take photos of where all the plugs go, etc, on different angles.
2. Once the pressure pipe is removed (the clear one) from the controller board, you will need to ensure that all of the water is manually removed from the machine (that's assuming your machine failed like mine, ie, mid cycle) otherwise the machine thinks it has less water in it than it actually does, and this could apparently lead to overflow.
3. If you're not reasonably confident with pulling things apart and using multi meters, etc, then you'll be better to call the proper technician. Remember that the controller board and plugs have full 230/240V and currents at levels which will kill if you do something silly - always have the plug removed from the wall before attempting anything. Oh, and always check that your wall socket actually has power by using a mobile phone charger to check it is still live, etc.

Good luck, Cheers, Crazy Gray.

I'm not getting any code on my machine, but it won't drain. Do I have to do something or would a code come up automatically? Does anyone know where I can find a diagram of the pump etc if I try to clear it myself.

SteveVB
SteveVB ·

If you can hear the drainage pump running but no water flow it could be a blockage. If you can't hear a pump running, the pump or the control panel may be faulty. You may find a diagram of the machine if you search some of the parts suppliers' websites in Australia but diagnosing and doing it yourself won't be easy.
