It makes my life easy. I like it!
I like a washing machine with an agitator compared to the one without. I set and forget this model so I really like it.I don't have to keep changing the settings. It has a timer so I know when the wash is going to finish. It has a pause button in case you need to add more clothes. The only thing I don't like is, it doesn't collect the lint or it doesn't have a lint bag so sometimes the lint are left on the clothes specially the blacks. Overall, I am very happy with it coz it makes my life easy.

Computer died after 3 years, just out of warranty
Worked okay for 3 years. Then the computer died. Terrible. Never buy another Fisher Paykel product again. I Rang the call centre. Service fee will be about $150 and the new computer part over $100. Not sure it's worth having it fixed as high probability of something else failing after. Lousy quality product.

Pretty Good
I've had this for 2 years now & works fine so far without a single problem. Does a pretty good job with clean clothes but can be noisy some times. I like the feature that automatically works out how much water to fill up to help keep water consumption down but still not sure how accurate it is.
Updated Dec 6...I had a minor problem just outside F&P warranty but fortunately had an extended warranty through Appliances Online. Very quick & easy process & had F&P service contact me next day to arrange on site repair within 3 days. F&P Rep was ...Read more
great. I got a text the night before advising I was first up the next morning & he would be there at 7am - which he was. Very friendly, helpful & outstanding customer service at every stage. Highly recommend F&P even if you do have an issue.

SOLID AS
I have owned this washer for just on 3 years it has been faultless. I was just reading some of the reviews on it and am surprised at some of the negativity. I wash large loads daily and sometimes multiple loads, to date no issues, in fact friends have used my machine and gone and purchased their own straight away. to my knowledge they haven't had issues either. Great machine would buy again along with any other Fisher & Paykel products.

Terrible washing machine
Purchased my F&P in 2012 from Good Guys who guaranteed me that it was a top quality machine, what a waste of money! The agitator wings snapped within 4 months so it got replaced under warranty, yet again within 12 months the crappy plastic agitator broke, clothes are being streaked with lint and soap scum, I hate the bloody thing.
Update 2016 - the electronic panel has now gone!

A good top-loader
F&P's direct drive design is excellent for quietness, reliability and fast spin, but the machine is let down somewhat by unreliable electronics. Our previous F&P top-loader washing machine lasted 18 years with a couple of valve services until an electronics board failure made it uneconomic to repair. We chose the new machine for its similar size and features including a wool cycle.

Does not do what it is designed to do
I have had this machine for about 8 months now, i have tried out all the settings and no matter what I pick it just never seems to clean my clothes properly, I always end up having to rewash most things. There is a preset option with the machine when turned on which lets you select how dirty your load is, good option except you cant control the spin speed so the clothes usually come out very wrinkly and tangled. Prior to this machine i owned a westinghouse front loader which was excellent especially in cold water...the fabric smart machine is ...Read more
a poor peformer in cold water even on the most advanced clean setting. When i use the handwash setting, clothes come out as dirty as they went in and with detergent stuck to all the clothes. The only thing i like is that it is quiet but i would much rather a loud machine that washed my clothes properly! Too many gimmicks and not enough performance!Similar opinion? It's a dud - I want a refund
After 12 years without issues from our previous F&P washing machine, we decided to replace it with another P&F since the last one had been so reliable.
We bought our Fabric Smart F&P washing machine a month ago & both hoses were leaking from the start. It was installed by appliances online so I know it was installed properly. We tried to fix it ourselves but couldn't so contacted Appliances online's customer service department. They advised that this was a common complaint with this machine & that new hoses usually fix the problem. Applianc...Read more
es online advised they would contact F&P & have new hoses delivered to us within a week. So a week without a washing machine & F&P mailed us new hoses. We installed the new hoses and they were okay for about 2 weeks. Now they are leaking too, but this time they are leaking from the rear of the machine. I have contacted F&P again & have been told that I have to wait another week until someone can come out & have a look at the machine. This is ridiculous. We will be pushing for a refund.. Don't buy this machineSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

CRAP!
Bought this machine just 2.5years ago. Usually use the machine once a week, twice a week at the most. There is only 2 of us, no children and we work in the office. Our clothes were hardly heavily soiled. This F&P washing machine is over rated, so called 'smart'. Hardly the case, died on us suddenly! Priced at more than $900 I would have expected more years out of this machine. Disappointed to find similar reviews posted here about this machine. Wished I had looked before buying. Never again F&P. Not keeping my hopes up on your customer service either. Your machine and your brand is CRAP!

Love It!
I have had my machine for almost a month now and am loving all the functions, particularly the delay start (with numerous options for how long you want to delay) and the time remaining on the digital display. I also like being able to set certain functions such as cold water, water saver, time saver etc and that it remembers them for future washes. After reading other reviews, I am a little worried about the lint issues but have no complaints so far. Might look into the lint filter that faypa mentioned if needed.

Excellent machine, once again F&P deliver great quality.
We've had ours for about six months now, replacing our former piece of junk 'NEC' which was on it's way out (what a terrible excuse for a washing machine). I'm not an expert on washer's, but this machine does exactly what you need it to do when it comes laundry (which isn't a big ask)
It has automatic pre-settings for water levels and fabric types, the clothes don't tangle, it spins the heck out of them until they're almost completely dry, and it doesn't damage delicate's. I can't honestly say one bad thing about it, marvelous machine!

Lint!!
I had an lg non agitator washing machine for more than 10 years with two removable lint filters.
Never got any lint (or tissues that were left in pockets by the kids) on the clothes....Regardless of mixing all types of clothes.....Fantastic machine.
When lg died i went to the experts at choice and they recommended the fisher and paykel.
What a disaster from day one....Lint everywhere.
Rang f&p and was told that they have never had such a complaint ever before.
As i was talking to them i went on the internet and found numerous complaints ab...Read more

Won't wash in hot water
I bought this machine to replace my previous F&P top loader which I had always been happy with. I have twin babies and recently switched to cloth nappies and I wanted to run a strip wash, which involves washing in hot water. I selected 'hot' on the temp panel and came back a few minutes later to add another nappy to the load. I was surprised to find that the water was tepid, almost cold. I checked my hot tap connections, checked the hoses (all fine) and tried a second time. I noticed that the machine ran the hot water for about a minute before ...Read more
proceeding to fill the barrel up with cold water. I rang F&P and was told that this was how the machine was supposed to operate. I queried what the point if having temp selection options was if you couldn't actually change the temperature, I was told that the machine 'was doing it's job' and used enough hot water to dissolve the powder only. When I said it was stupid and pointless having a machine that had a warm or hot temp option that only washed in cool water I was basically told that the problem was not with the machine but was with my expectations of it! (God forbid when I select 'hot' I actually want my machine to do a hot wash!) The F&P customer care and technical support were hopeless and bordering on rude. I was told that it was an Eco friendly machine (funny it wasn't advertised to say you can't run a hot wash) and that's the way they worked. So apparently 'Eco friendly' means not hot option at all. It also got a broken lid latch within 6 months of me owning it and needed repairs. It does a reasonable job on an average wash but overall I'm pretty unimpressed. Does a reasonable job on cold wash, no issues with warranty service the first time I needed it fixed Won't wash in hot water, broken part early on, customer care staff rude and hopeless.2 comments

ter to properly wash the clothes and the fins on the agitator are broken. My clothes look old and ratty after 2 washes in this thing and they are totally destroyed within 6 months. It's costing me a fortune in clothes. Not to mention everything comes out covered in greyish powder stains. I don't use fabric softeners, use minimal washing powder and run it on a hot wash (not that it ever will do a hot wash for me) with vinegar and bicarb soda every now and then to clean it out but it always puts stains on my clothes anyway. Waste of money, do not buy this machine.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Disappointing - leaks and leaves soap residue. Don't buy
I had the old Fisher & Paykel Eco-Intuitive for 9 years before it died as it began leaking from the base of the machine (a lot). I had never experienced any major problems with that machine other than some grey marks on some heavier items (sheets etc) as the machine aged. So I wanted to go F&P again. After reading reviews, I opted for this model, as it also seemed to be similar to the Eco Intuitive. The buttons may be similar, but it ends there.
I have found that it leaves a significant amount of soap/detergent residue on clothes (eviden...Read more
t when you put facewasher in the bath and the water bubbles!). So I now put in less than half the previous amount of detergent (less than half a capful) and have changed the rinse cycle and the problem improved a little but still not great. Also, from the first wash almost, with every heavy load (towels, doona covers, bedding etc) it leaks from the base. If i put in a "high" load, it also leaks. This causes me to have to do many more loads to avoid leakage at the bottom because I need to smaller loads and split the heavy loads - a pain and causes more work. Thumbs down F&P. Finally, I purchased from Appliances Online and unlike others here, found that they did not take responsibility for the product fault, despite the consumer law in Australia requiring the retailer to liase with the manufacturer and not the customer. They referred me to F&P and said it was not my problem. My machine is not even 4 months old.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hope the new one is alright
I purchased my new F&P Fabricsmart 5 days ago from appliances online. They took old Betsy, a Hoover 920 and my trusted workhorse for 28 years. Unfortunately, the new machine only lasted 4 days due to an electronic problem. Appliances online have been great and they are delivering a replacement machine on Mon.
I really like the size
It stopped working

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MACHINE OR ANY OTHER FISHER AND PAYKEL MACHINE
This machine is a replacement for another more expensive fisher and paykel machine (the difference of money I had to absorb apparently) This machine is terrible just like the other I purchased for 1100.00. I am sure that the other reviews on this site that are positive are posted by fisher and paykel staff, there is no way any one could actually get this machine to wash clothing properly. I will throw this machine on the road side pick up when we next have one. This machine is not worth the money steer clear of anything fisher and payket, the...Read more
