Great washer, easy to use very user friendly
Cleans and rinses very well never had a problem with soap residue
Extremely gentle on clothes no excess creasing or crushing after the spin cycle
Very quiet during the whole washing cycle especially during the spin cycle
Lots of options you can pause or stop mid cycle to add more washing

Good for the price
It works well and is not very loud. Bought this as I was tight on the budget. I will recomand anyone wanting to buy a decent top loader with the limited amount to spend. Always visit few stores before buying an item as it helped me save heaps over past years.

updated after 15 years with another F&P
Had a F&P 6.5 kg top loader for 15 years till bearing went, didnt hesitate to by another . Very sleek design and simple to use and doesnt tangle your clothes into knots. Fast spin at 1000 rpm leaves clothes very dry and yet is very quiet as well. Got a good deal at HN and looking forward to another trouble free 15 years

Excellent machine so far - newly purchased - 8 loads of washing - clothes covered in pet hair!
Our last washing machine from a different brand was nothing but useless junk leaving washing powder on clothes! So after coming from that type of machine I have found - 7kg machine won't fit donna's or sleeping bags. I am currently using He labeled washing liquid and the a full lid of un-diluted vanish powder, a full to the top fabric softener amount (about a cap full) and am yet to find any powder on the clothes washed, at Time of writing put a jumper through with hay seeds on and has managed to not leave any seeds on the jumper, nor other clo...Read more
thes that were in that wash load there isn't a lint filter net, like on some machines but so far am yet to have any real lint on any clothes especially after previous machine all but destroyed clothes and created lint! (GGRRRR!!!) but unlike other machines where a lint filter is non-existent this machine has a different type of lint filter, that can be pulled out and cleaned probably recommended regularly with a heavy user! At present the machine is very quite during operation with the exception of spin dry, but isn't overly loud, enough that you can hear it, but tune out, unfortunately one feature to be careful of is that it defaults to warm wash every use - haven't worked out how to save that cold water settings yet, but user manual stipulates a warm wash should be used every 5 wash's regardless of what's been through, user manual is not difficult to under or follow either, even for someone that isn't technologically advanced, the user panel is very easy to press a light touch is all...user manual states to not use any cleaning products or wet hands so will be keeping that in mind, user manual says it has an overload feature that tells you you have to much washing in the machine great idea, yet to experience that (thank goodness!) I got a 2 yr warranty but optional of extending that for an extra few years, I will be trying to follow the manufactures care instructions carefully so hoping with that 10 years from now I'll still have it if I follow it, thankyou for reading and thankyou to my parents for giving me a 'no interest loan' so I could buy it!!! Happily putting washing through, will be cleaning wardrobe out and putting that through!! P.s whirlpool toploader was my previous machine from hell!!! So if you don't like this machine don't every in your life buy that particular one, not one good review it!!! Check out the reviews from it!!! Hopefully in a year will give an update someone remind me/prompt meSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Living up to expectations
For the past 25 years I have used a Smart Drive top loader, with, I believe, only 2 call outs! Due to age, my beauty has stopped working & needs replacing. First choice (obviously) was F&P. Used the new machine for the first time today & was pleased to find the new board was touch sensitive & responded well! It filled with water to suit its needs (ie level of wash). Clothing came out looking good & dried fast due to the fantastic spin cycle. Sheets on the other hand, although nice & clean, were tangled so much that it was as if two people had held either end & twisted against each each other!! Sheets were washed on the heavy cycle. Machine was beautifully quiet while filling, washing & spinning.

Machine ok - Backup service terrible!
I have had my machine for 5 years and found it tends to leave lint on clothes. Now the control panel has gone at a cost of $300 to repair. Moreover, it's taken 2 weeks and only then because I chased them! I will never buy another F&P product and strongly recommend against them.

Love it
The technology of this washer feels superior. So quiet so easy to program. Not keen on the agitator wings they feel they could endanger clothes and catch but there has not been a problem, never used the water saver as I am concerned that the lower level might affect the wings. I love love love this washing machine

Can highly recommend.
I am very happy with my washing machine as it cleans & rinses very well although I do use liquid detergent mostly. It is very quiet compared to my old GE top loader which I had since 1997. I love the quick wash setting as it still cleans clothes without any trouble. From my perspective I can only recommend.
March 22nd 2017 Update: Silence is Golden
May I just start with a retrospective on my washing machine purchases. In 1979 I started with a Simpson small washing machine, then had a purchase of a GE 8kg washer which was like an industria...Read more
l size with a lead motor. I had that machine from 1997 until 2016. Brilliant. So you can see times have changed and the hunt was on for a new top-loader again. I looked up product review firstly and then did some extra research and came up with the above mentioned. I cannot believe the difference on sound/quality/methods of washing etc. I am absolutely happy with my purchase which was from The Good Guys. I don't know if other consumers feel the same but for me I understand the life of this washer will not be 19 years as previously stated, but for now a 7kg washer suits myself and my husband as we are now empty nesters. Great machine.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Simple choice
I have had two of these machines the last one lasted 20 years of hard labor, if you want a top loader at a good price you cant go wrong with these units, just make sure you measure the door way in to your laundry if you buy a bigger machine than the one you have PS the cloths dryers are also excellent,

Excellant,
Clean clothes really well even if very big load. Works same as front loader it's Quiet and compact, water saver Excellant that you can add to wash after it starts. Was extremely easy to install even for a lady. I have a 8.5kg myself so I was pleased to buy the 7kg for other family members.

Great Washing Features
I only purchased this machine a month ago, but I've been impressed with the function so far. There are the usual features that haven't changed much since I'd bought my previous Fisher & Paykel 20 years ago! This was the main reason I bought another Fisher & Paykel top loader. The machine cleans my clothes well, however, it has a tendency to knot the clothes up & they are creased on the normal function. I've used the Quick Wash mostly.

Love it
This is the second Fisher & Paykel washing machine I have had. The first one I had for 15 years and possibly could have had it repaired but decided to buy a new one. All my family, on my recommendation, have Fisher & Paykel washing machines. As long as I don't overload it the clothes don't crease. I like the beeps when the washing is finished and it is quiet.

Very pleased so far hope it lasts longer than last Fisher and Paykel.
All the good features of our old machine which we loved which is why we purchased another one. Very quiet and washes clothes well with a great high speed spinner. It is recommended to use a surge protector with these machines as good insurance to protect the computer. Our last Fisher and Paykel went through 2 computers at $300 each.

The ineffective lint-filter mechanism lets this machine down BADLY
I love top loaders - and bought Fisher and Paykel because my sister had one and loved it.
My machine is 5 years old and can't fault it mechanically BUT the black specks/sludge it leaves all over clothes mean I end up having to hand wash them to get the marks of!! I have removed agitator and cleaned every conceivable space but the lint removal mechanism does NOT work. I can remember being amazed when I bought it that there was no lint filter to clean and was told there was a special system associated with the spin cycle which ensured removal o...Read more

had the 7kg, eco since jan 2015, mainly wash t.shirts.started noticing small serrated holes on the bottom of t.shirts.is this a design fault with the agitator or would it help if i used a gentler spin cycle, this machine has a tendency to off balance with small loads, still does a good heavy towel wash, has anybody had the hole problem?

Why is the water pump so noisy after it pumps out the water compared to my 20 year old one.
NZ made one had French made water pump, new one is Italian Askoll brand made in China!

F&P no longer care about quality - my old F&P was virtually silent, clothes spun to almost dry, but my new replacement one is louder than a lawn mower, the clothes are dripping wet after final spin, and are covered in lint. I regret going with F&P again, quality of machine and care factor from their complaints Dept is zero. They are cutting costs wherever they can by using cheap parts!
Yes Ive had a very similar experience with my new F&P machine, old one was much better :(
Agreed they use some Italian designed pump made in China & Pulse it.
Thankfully the rest of the machine is made assembled in Thailand. They afraid to put made in Thailand, that should be a premium product then :-)
At least it does complete cycle times faster with small loads but the water pump makes it sound like a $2 Chinese design. It is what happens when a great company is bought out by Chinese. I'll be glad one day when 1st world companies make again
