Perfect for our needs
We are a family of four adults and many over night visitors so the wash machine is used three times a week. The selection of wash cycles is great to wash different fabrics. The spin dry does a great job so the drying time is reduced. We have worked this machine hard for at least two years without any problems.

Third time buyer
Just bought our third F&P Top Loader in about 40 years. The other two did great service, including years of washing nappies, and withstanding interstate moves.
There are a couple of irks though about the changes that F&P has made to the top loaders. What happened to the lovely blue colour on the control panel? The silvery grey is boring in comparison. More importantly, the change to the colour scheme and the fonts used have made the writing very hard to read when selecting options, and the 'button' area that needs to be pressed to change a ...Read more
selection is nearly invisible except in extremely good light. Front loaders are a far better option for seniors (no bending, and generally they are more familiar with the operation of these) so the clarity of writing on the machine is important for them, as well as anyone who doesn't have the best eyesight or the brightest laundry. And a plug for The Good Guys. $75 to have the new machine delivered, installed, packaging removed, and old machine taken away, is worth every cent.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Loads of room inside!
This replaced a very old top loader and I was a bit unsure of the whole electronic controls thing. So far it is a very good quality machine. Takes a huge load. The different settings are more than I would ever need. Washes clothes well. Spin is excellent. It's pretty quiet. I think it should have a lint filter as washing it all down the drain is bad for the environment. Otherwise I am pleased.

Reliable Family Washer
We have two boys so the washer seems like its always on. School clothes, sports clothes, the latest spill. This is our second Fisher & Paykel machine and we know they are very reliable. Our last one was over twenty years old and still working when we replaced it! The controls are simple and its build strong, We anticipate having this one for twenty years too if possible.

F&P WashSmart Top Loader Excels Yet Again!
Having owned and operated a heavily used older model F&P (7kg) since 2001 and being very happy with its performance and the quality of the F&P Customer Service whenever the machine required attention over the past 17 years, it was a 'no brainer' to order a new model replacement when our old machine finally came to the end of its natural life - only because spare parts were no longer available for this model. The new 7 kg machine is slightly more compact in size and much quieter than its predecessor. Harvey Norman (Gordon) proved a pleasure as a...Read more
lways to look after our needs with the delivery, installation of the new machine (and removal of the old machine) being handled most efficiently. Removal and installation charges were very reasonable. We are looking forward to a happy relationship with our new machine, even though we know that, unlike its predecessor, it has not been manufactured in Australia, but by Haier in China - a highly innovative global white goods manufacturer that is committed to continuing the excellent innovative track record of the original F&P brand.Similar opinion? Reliable Workhorse
This gets used every day at our place and never misses a beat. We have had great reliability although the water pump did go through a month or two of making a screeching sound which it stopped doing after a while. It may not be the most advanced or the softest on clothes - it is more of a typical traditional family washer. I would prefer a front loader but this model suits us well at the moment.

Recommended washing machine.
I bought this machine as a replacement to my smaller 5kg F&P washing machine that lasted over 10 years, which is pretty good considering the other person using it had a compulsive excessive cleaning issue which mean my poor machine went almost non stop everyday. I was so happy with the old model that I didn’t even consider another brand. So happy with my purchase, it’s even easier to use that the previous model. I highly recommend this brand, it costs a little more than some other brands but definitely outlasts them all including the ridiculously priced Europeans brands.

Family Trooper Always Does The Job
Nothing is made to last any more but the Fisher and Paykel top loaders come close.
We wash a lot of clothes daily and this has not missed a beat. The one it replaced kept going for over 15 years so I really hope to get something close from this.
It's probably not the most water efficient - most top loaders are not but it never misses a beat and runs nice and quiet. The only complaint I have is that it went through a phase of making a squealing noise when the drain pump was running. I actually ordered a new pump motor and the problem stopped before the part arrived and hasn't returned. So I guess I have a spare.
It's good performer and almost a member of the family!

Another beautie !
Efficient and quiet with great options ie I prefer Allergy wash as has 2 rinses. But for my husbands work clothes use Heavy wash.
Our previous F&P washing machine lasted 15 yrs during children & many wash days. This is smaller so suits the two of us but still offers good options .
I find the " time remaining " clock very practical.

Amazing value!
I had recently bought this washing machine, the installation and learning process was really easy and quick to understand. It was quite cheap too for the performance that it brings. It was much better than my previous washing machine that was quite complicated and was quick to break down, requiring a lot of maintanance.

Quiet, efficient
Works nicely and quietly, it is faster than the LG that it replaced. Has all the features I would want: timer, quick wash, heavies, delicates, soak, rinse, etc. I also greatly appreciate the digital display telling you the time remaining. I had very little space to put it in and it barely fit. The only thing I miss from the LG is the glass top but that's purely aesthetic.

Great Machine
This is my second Fisher and Paykel top loading machine. My first never missed a beat and went for 20 years. This machine is even quieter and love that it displays how many minutes left in a wash cycle. Brilliantly washes and rinses. Would recommend Fisher and Paykel to anyone looking for a new machine.

Most reliable washing machine around
After researching for weeks for a washing machine for our new place, I decided to change from using a Samsung for the last 10 years to a fisher and paykel and it was definitely an upgrade. It has a consistent wash every time and is much quieter than our last one. It has exceeded my expectations!

excellent
Such an outstanding washing machine. I’ve only had it for a month but am already head over heels fit it. It holds do many clothes, washes really well and isn’t overly noisy when in use. For a family of 6. Great washing machine. Clothes come out clean and undamaged. Excellent./

Cleans the clothes perfectly!
This is probably the best purchase of the year for my household last year. Cleans the clothes well (however there is no area for hair to collect, so make sure you remove all the hair and fuzz on your clothes before you put it in), and quickly. It doesn't wear the clothes out, however the spin speed is very fast, so for delicate materials, I use a the delicate function or reduce the spin speed. It is quiet compared to my old Bosch Front Loader. One of the best things is that it's a top loader - so there is chance of fungus growing. Another great thing is that there is lower chance of soap scum as cleaning the washing machine is easy - parts are easily disassembled.

Great Washing Machine!
Works perfectly. Has exceeded my expectations, using barely any power to run. Have had no issues with it whatsoever. My room mate seems to think it's a bit loud, however I have no such complaints. Cannot comment on durability as I have only owned it less than a year to date.

Why is the water pump so noisy after it pumps out the water compared to my 20 year old one.
NZ made one had French made water pump, new one is Italian Askoll brand made in China!

F&P no longer care about quality - my old F&P was virtually silent, clothes spun to almost dry, but my new replacement one is louder than a lawn mower, the clothes are dripping wet after final spin, and are covered in lint. I regret going with F&P again, quality of machine and care factor from their complaints Dept is zero. They are cutting costs wherever they can by using cheap parts!
Yes Ive had a very similar experience with my new F&P machine, old one was much better :(
Agreed they use some Italian designed pump made in China & Pulse it.
Thankfully the rest of the machine is made assembled in Thailand. They afraid to put made in Thailand, that should be a premium product then :-)
At least it does complete cycle times faster with small loads but the water pump makes it sound like a $2 Chinese design. It is what happens when a great company is bought out by Chinese. I'll be glad one day when 1st world companies make again
