Rubbish

published

Absolute crap.
This functions as a wired printer to just 1 of 6 devices that should be able to connect wirelessly.
Finding a downloadable user manual for this model is impossible.
Finding a replacement for the cd set-up is impossible. Fuji support are hopeless - script jockeys at best. The online and downloadable set up file tells you to insert the CD at some stage - the very thing you haven't got. Support is terrible.
Basically a good machine (possibly), totally let down by online support. Do not buy.

Fuji Xerox P265 Don't do it unless you are a technically minded person and can beat the goto sleep mode

published

The unit is not easy to add to Apple Products in my opinion and particularly the laptops.
PC and Windows 10 did not pull it up and then downloaded the driver from Fuji Xerox page and it did nothing.
Then when I did get it working a few times it would go to sleep in sleep mode. I wasted many hours trying to resolve this to no end.
The wifi worked sometimes.
The final insult is spending my life writing a review to tell you not to do what I did.

Perfect printer for home

published

I purchased this one from Office Works 2-3 years back and so far it's performing very well. I have it connected to my main PC via USB port but also enabled the wireless connectivity. I can definitely print wirelessly from my other PCs and laptop but the iPhone intermittently show it as an airprinter. Print quality is 7 out of 10 but that is ok for everyday work.

Purchased at Officeworks Physical store.

Waste of money

published

Running a small business from home requires efficient and reliable printers. The Xerox name has been around for a long time with a reputation of quality and reliability. This is not the case with this product. The plug and play aspect is non existent. Then to download and install drivers direct from fuji xerox was a headache like no other. I use many peripherals regularly and never had problems like this. Wifi printing - don't bother as you need to reconnect after every few print jobs. Then even the usually safe usb connection required the occasional re install. I see some reviewers are happy with their experience with this printer but I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone. Life is too short to have to (maybe) deal with this.

Horrendeous

published

Seriously the worst printer you'll come across. Wireless is basically useless, 30 mins to do A page of black and white text. Setup is diabolical and completely un-user friendly. If you accidentally touch the wifi button, you're stuck in that menu for eternity!!!. You have been warned, just look elsewhere.

One at home and one in the office

published

We purchased these primarily for Air Print from iPads but also use them for general printing in the office. One is 12 months old and the second about 6 months and had limited problems. Once every month or two we have had to reboot the printer to reconnect to the wifi. Seems a reliable workforce for a budget printer. WiFi connection is fairly straight forward if you know what you are doing or have read the manual.

Wireless and wifi horrific

published

Do not buy this is you are basing your choice on wireless connectivity!!!! I battled the long connecting times, the saying it's connected but won't do anything, the printing 30 mins after the job was sent (literally!!!) since October 2017 and had enough. I took it back to officeworks and they were great and I've bought a different printer. I tried multiple apps, drivers, devices. Would not recommend this to anyone. Commenting on print quality alone, it's a nice quality print on the page.

Does not operate reliably

published

The machine does not connect or stay connected. Have persevered for amount twelve months an am totally frustrated. We have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to keep the machine connected. It is a total waste of money and precious time. Do not purchase this machine. Avoid this machine at all costs.

Docuprint P265DW - Happy.

published

We bought ours about 10 months ago. WiFi working and never had a problem, setting up or operating, works through a router. Print quality is good & we changed the ink recently, no problems. What I did find was that you need to use the software to connect the printer through the router, once done it stays connected. The printer did jam, once, due to high humidity that wet the paper. The cost of the refill, $80 is a bit rich.
The 265dw is worth the price.

Do not buy this

published

When you can get it to print the quality is fine but the usability of the thing is ATROCIOUS, the wireless connectively hopeless and unreliable. A good printer is one you barely notice is there. This one you spend all your time troubleshooting. It is a nightmare. Steer clear unless you are some sort of masochist.

fuji xerox p265dw

I agree. I have two HP printers and have had no problem. I have installed the software about 4 times, it is now stuck on "receiving data". I wish I had bought the HP instead. WIFI direct is a joke on this printer. I have a hp with wifi direct which worked first time and is still working.

Does a good job and an entry level price.

published

Bought this for our son for his birthday - has turned out to be great. The wireless function is a real bonus, means the whole house has access to high quality print jobs. The replacement cartriges are reasonably priced and he still hasn't had to replace it - nearly 8 months into a teaching degree and also printing music for tutition.

So Far So good.

published

Just bought this so a few early impressions.
Set up was quite straight forward using the printer's LCD and the PC via USB.
Network connection worked well using the router's WPS function. (Option 5c in the 'Quick Start Guide.')
Text (Size 8 - 12) is crisp enough for business documents, with line graphics and shading being acceptable quality.
Duplexing is simple following on screen prompts.
So far I've had no paper handling issues (admittedly after less than 20 sheets .)
OEM consumables seem to be around the same price as for similar machines, and a bit less than those for the almost identical Brother HL-L2365dw.

Really good printer

published

I was worried about buying this given the reviews, which look pretty bad. But I needed an affordable laser printer to do Minc foiling for my wedding invitations that also did duplex. This one was affordable at Officeworks, I think about $99. So glad I got this one. Looks good. Is small. Works perfectly every single time. So much cheaper than my inkjet to print and duplex is quick and easy and saves paper. Never had issues with it not coming out of sleep mode. Has worked first time every time and took 2 mins to set up. So glad I bought this one!! I have even bought it a printer draw to sit alongside my photo printing inkjet as this printer will def be staying in the long term.

BAD OPTION CONTROL

published

No matter what I do, the printer will not print one-sided only - it insists on printing everything back-to-back. I am exasperated and have better things to do with my time than trying to coax it into doing as it's told. This is a serious problem - the printer dialogue box is fine - it just doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

the worst!

published

I purchased this wifi printer for occasional home printing in January 2017. From the start, the printer constantly drops out, takes many minutes to print a page, then goes into deep sleep and stops working. I have called the fuji help centre multiple times. The operators are able to assist by uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. The printer works temporarily, then the problem re-emerges. Research online shows I am not the only person with this problem. Such a time waster - avoid at all costs!

Great Money Saver...But!!

published

Well I became sick to death of being ripped off with printer ink. As i rarely need colour I decided to throw away my Ink Jet printer and go for a black only printer. At Harvey Norman I was advised not to buy their cheapest but the slightly dearer Fuji Xerox. I have to say it is sensationally cheap to run but has the same fault as other reviews of other model Fuji Xerox printers...namely that many many times it will not respond to the print order...it will if you turn it off and then on again...but i am now getting sick of doing that!!
