Returns & Customer Service
I purchased this watch straight from the Garmin website. What a mistake that was!!! Not allowed to return at all. If I had bought the product from Rebel for example... I would have been able to exchange it. The customer service man was so aggressive and rude. Don’t buy from the website!!!

Above and beyond
A bit of a wait on the phone to speak with someone but once I got through I was speaking with an Aussie and my issue was resolved with in 5 minutes. We identified the cable was faulty and they sent me one for free. What amazed me was that I bought my Nuvi in 2013 and they were still happy to send the cable with no fuss!

Garmin Support is the worst
Purchased a Marine chart plotter and fish finder specifically for the new integration with my Phone. Took a fair bit of effort to install but that is normal and expected. However now it is bolted to the boat it won't do what I purchased it for. When I call support there is a minimum of 30mins wait on the phone. The guy I spoke to clearly had nearly no product knowledge. I listened anyway and floored all instructions.
6 weeks later its still broken. They Never call or email me and always tell me its been escalated and being looked at. 10 year...Read more
s ago I also had a Garmin product issue and I remember now that it was a terrible experience. So Garmin is the worst for support and it doesn't look like they are interested in getting any better. Avoid their products at all cost. When you are out in the ocean you need it to work.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great products until something goes wrong
I’ve owned various Garmin products for close to 20 years and they’ve been great so when I wanted a gps watch about 4 years ago it was just a case of which Garmin I wanted. The Fenix has been a great watch but about a year ago it would shut down once the battery dropped to below 40% (a common problem I’ve since found out) but recently the watch shut down and won’t restart even when following the hard reset instructions from Garmin.
What’s worst though is garmin’s lack of response. I’ve tried contact via their website and email address, call centre and three social media feeds. No response after two weeks. Pathetic! You’d think they’d at least respond instead of ignoring the request for advice.

GARMIN APPROACH X40 : Good product but poor warranty
Bought a Garmin Approach X40 GPS Golf watch last year ... not a bad product but the charging cable pin broke. Garmin can only be contacted by phone which they are slow to answer - they stated no warranty on a charging cable as it is classed as an accessory. Well in my understanding of the law all products have to be warranted and be fit for the purpose in Austealia
UPDATE
Garmin responded to my email and are now sending me a new charging cable free of charge. I had to remind them of the wording in their product manual. Hassle but a win in the end. Thanks Garmin

The BEST customer service
I had a problem with my GPS which was a Christmas gift 2014. I contacted Garmin support who advised if I could produce proof of purchase they would replace. My son emailed them a copy of the receipt and the next day I received an email advsing me to send the old device to them. Within 3 days I had a replacement device. The people that I spoke with were great. I wish every Customer Service dept lived up to their name like Garman.

Garmin support is terrible
Bought a $400 Garminfitness tracker. 2 months later frozen screen and when I tried to charge it it became incredibly hot within 15 mins. Took it back to purchase point and was told to call Garmin, given wrong number to call. Got onto support who concluded the problem likely to be faulty battery and advised me to email copy of receipt to head office. Case file opened. Completed email as instructed. Head office emailed me back and advised me to post unit back to them. Sadly it is illegal to do this with a faulty lithium battery in Australia. Really poor effort Garmin. will update after I follow this up with them again.

Praise where it is due.
Garmin's customer service was being handled in Manila. Emails or website enquiries were directed to Manila, and all snail mail communications (even registered letters) were scanned and sent on to Manila. Eventually Garmin realized that Manila was not providing the service they were contracted to provide, and they brought customer service back to Sydney. Last week I spoke to a lady there who could not have been more helpful and for the first time since I bought it on 27.12.2011 my Garmin device now has updated maps.

Garmin Support ignore my pleas:The Cyclops Safety Camera Software supplied by Garmin has many proble
I recently had a problem with Safety Camera software purchased through Garmin. I noticed that after I purchased an updated subscription that many errors appeared in alerting me of cameras that worked before and that in some instances the updated software mixed camera types by informing me of a red light camera instead of a safety camera. Anyway, I contacted the number for Garmin Australian Support. Provided them with full details of the problems even had a case number assigned by them. They also asked me to send them an email referenci...Read more
ng the case number with full details, which I did. Did not hear or read anything from them so 1 week later, I telephoned them and spoke with an operator - they had my case number and was told that they cant do anything since its software provided by a 3rd party EVEN though they supply it. I was not happy about that considering I purchased the S/W from Garmin not the 3rd Party. They agreed and said they would get back to me either that day or tomorrow at the latest with a solution. Did not hear or read anything from them for another week. I telephoned them again and spoke to another operator who agreed and said that they would investigate and get back to me that day or the next. Its been 3 weeks now and I have heard or read nothing from these people. I have stopped using this terrible Cyclops Safety Camera software on my Garmin as it caused me more problems. Garmin is selling software from a 3rd party which does not work properly and it appears by the reaction of their support group that they don't care.Similar opinion?
