Goodlife Health Clubs SA
Old and worn out equipment, too many kids allowed in likely shouldn’t be there.
Equipment is old, poorly maintained, and takes many weeks to get repaired.
Bad service, poor value for money, too many kids allowed in who hog the equipment while playing on social media!
I think they don’t realise there is far more competition these days and they should lift their game or the member exodus will continue!
Very bad service please be aware of giving details for direct debit option because direct debit agency harrassing a lot for money and they keep your details and sending taxt and email.
Tried to cancel my contract when I was no longer able to afford the payments
Do not sign with this company, their contracts are written to allow them to take as much money from you for as long as possible

Holding Rpm bike while doing a class before, or holding a bike going shopping and re-entering before class starts, leaving others little chance without coming 1/2 hr early. Not Happy

..My previous review was about lack of social distancing.... well, they have gone overboard now.... ALL the stationery bikes have a 1.5 m distancing sign on them.... so everyone uses all of them without taking any notice - little surprise. You'd think that someone at the gym would have the wit to measure out 1.5 m between machines and act accordingly. Still people leaving their equipment all over the place and not cleaning equipment after use ...COVID MARSHALLS... apart from standing behind counter chatting WHERE ARE YOU????
We cancelled several times but they kept charging us. It’s hard to communicate because they say one thing and never happens. I hope they do something about their policy. It feels like we got scammed. Never again
As per title facilities are average definitely gyms with better equipment, contract agreements and payments are not flexible in the slightest and staff are not willing to help at all.

Note to both new members and existing members:
Existing customers: Goodlife runs a cancellation scam that you need to be aware of. I called to cancel my membership in January. I was told that as an incentive to keep my business given I had been a member for over 10 years, they would like to put a “No obligation” hold on my membership for 6 months and would touch base to see if I would like to rejoin at the time. I specifically asked the question if the membership would be reactivated at the 6 month mark and was reassured that no payment would...
Read more be put through without my consent. Needless to say at the 6 month mark automatic debits were restarted without my consent. I picked it up a few months later and raised an incident report with the regional customer service manager who was dismissive and unwilling to negotiate even a partial refund. New customers/potential customers - Goodlife is no longer a monopoly in SA. Lots of other options of gyms that display ethical behaviour and integrity - do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.Due to pandemic tried to cancel due to compromised immune disease and lost of job due to pandemic... even though I start gym last early last year, want over $1000 to cancel... no compassion grounds nothing... insane amount they are requesting...
I will seek legal assistance... goodlife has no care for their clients...

During a pandemic it should be different rules - with most companies it is - but not Goodlife. People have lost their jobs and are not allowed to go to gyms. Try and cancel so you can use the money for food etc and you are told the huge cost of cancelling - $300+ when you don't use their facilities. VERY poor decisions being made by this company. No-one I know will ever use them again.
The sales staff lied to me and was pushing me to sign a 12 month contract. I told them i might move and i dont mind paying a month be month. Again he pushed for the contract saying i will personally put a clause in the contract to state you can break it at any time.
Here we are i have moved and in constant argument with them about the contract. Stay away from these superficially pathetic people who keep threatening me with bad crefit rating. Im just going to pay it and unload this burden of money hungry, unethical organization off my sholders. God bless everyone with good intentions.

Spoke to a ‘customer service person’ to have membership suspended and was assured it would be, only to find that payments still getting taken out of the bank account. Spent 1/2hr on the phone trying to talk to this person-heard every story imaginable why he couldn’t speak to me “with a customer”, “now at a meeting”, “he will call me back later that day or the next”. Dropped into the centre the next day to be told “he’s in a conference”. Customer service does not exist and won’t attempt to sort it out. Stay well clear of ‘Good Life’ if you value your health and bank balance.

Goodlife gyms may be opened again but so few chances to book a time slot. Cannot get in but still paying memberships fees. Certainly not the 24/7 access we signed up for. Tried to email but no response which is not unusual as this organisation often seem unwilling to respond to members.
Kept on charging my account when my membership was over even after telling them that I don’t want to continue. No refund after realising their fault. Very poor customer service. I will not recommend this gym(Dernancourt SA) to anyone ever.
Unnecessary fees, employees are all very persuasive and pressure you to sign up to the most expensive membership. Tried to cancel my membership because I’m in financial hardship and they still made me pay $50 to get out of the membership.
