Google Home
I bought this before two months. Very useful especially for my kids. Google Home is very helpful as we can ask any thing. The very good new is that we can operate it in one place. We can on and off lights fan etc. Any time we can hear songs news and weather. I love this product very much.

Smart? I don’t think so!
Have tried to link Google Home to Harmony remote hub. Every request responds with “Can’t recognise your voice”. It tells me to retrain my voice but it still cannot recognise it. I have done it multiple times - same result. Google Home works well for general questions but forget it to automate your home entertainment system.

Love it, simple efficient and everyday helpful
It’s a gimmicky toy... or is it? Yes it’s loads of fun, but it’s effective and really useful, simple questions such as what’s the traffic like, add items to the shopping list, what’s the forecast, and a useful tool for the kids to get answers to questions. It provides the background music to our house and really is a benefit in our home.

Ok but needs work.
We got our google home 2 months ago. It’s great first thing in the morning when you ask for weather and news. You can link it to your Spotify account and play your favourite music. Great to use when doing homework with kids as you can just ask google rather than getting out your phone to search. Only problem it needs more work as it doesn’t always understand you and it gets frustrating when it misunderstands you.

Too hard to set up
Most of us are now used to tech devices working straight out of the box. Plug and play. However, that wasn't my experience with the Google Home Mini. At first the Google Home app recognised the device but indicated that it couldn't connect to my wi-fi set-up until I had disabled an "access point" on my router. Very soon I was elbow deep in online how-to information, most of it baffling and none of it getting me closer to a connection. I tried another tack and returned the device to factory settings. This took me a step back - the Google Home ap...Read more
p now didn't even recognise the device. This is a very poor user experience for a general consumer product and I'm not wasting any more time on it. So it's back into the box for the mini. I'll give it to my 11-year-old nephew as a present. I'm sure he'll have it figured out in no time. As for me, I can live without the device. Actually, I've just read the Sonos Player 100 speaker is terrific. And perhaps it's easy to set up, too.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Doesn’t live up to all the hype
Bought a google home mini for my wife to help with planning etc.
I would have expected more functionality than the “novelty” functions.
Let me explain,
1 - it can turn 4 compatible lights on and off but you can’t have it save a to do list
2 - listening to music is either via Spotify or Tune in however when I tried to stream a local radio station, first time it was successful, since then I haven’t been able to repeat the function even though I looked at its history (via the app) and have repeated the same wording used first time without ...Read more

Doesn’t work how it’s meant to
I try talking to the google home and it doesn’t respond. I have to yell at it for it to work, when I tell it to turn the volume down it thinks I’m telling it to make a call, it won’t let me connect my phone and make an account. Not worth buying.

Started off ok
Started off ok but recently had become very very glitchy, something has changed. Brightens the lights when you ask to dim the lights. Philips Hue integration is very very poor atm will no longer respond to “sync my lights” which makes adding new bulbs a nightmare. Netflix has also become glitchy. You need to provide proper support and maintainance you will loose credibility if you keep this up!

Google home is like an annoying child
Constantly have to rephrase questions for it to understand my request. Clunky technology which has no real purpose. Siri is far more autonomous and interactive. It had novelty appeal for the first week, but it just sits on a coffee table looking like an air purifier now. Im not to sure why we bought google home when a mobile phone has the same, if not better, capabilities. Save your money.

It's great having another woman in my life who ignores me
Google Home is great for practicing your lines for that summer stock play you're in, because it barely listens to what you actually want it to do, so you may as well let her listen to you prattle your part of juror number 7 for your local production of 12 Angry Men. It could also be down to my Canadian accent and the Aussie Google Home not understanding my actual pronunciation of r's. It's fun, but can be really annoying when you ask it to turn on a light and it instead looks up tuna on Google.

Seems to get the Oz lingo quite well. Cant answer some questions that Assistant can though, much the same thing?
I would give it 75 / 25 getting it right so not too bad. Wish you could give it a name, gets boring saying Hae Google all the time, would rather just say Fred or June or something. Only got the Home Mini to give it a shot rather than the extra for the big unit but I did not want it for a music player as we already have Sonos.
Would give it a pass mark.

The home assistance which makes you lazy
Got google home free with my new Google Pixel 2 xl and since then using it daily.
We all have enjoyed using the Google home.
When I say good morning to Google in the morning, it replies with Good morning, starts saying top news and weather forecast for that day. It also can put alarms and playing music through Youtube red.
It has some other fun features that we occasionally use like quizzes, jokes.
One issue is, sometimes when we are watching movies, it suddenly starts talking. Don't know it's because it is hearing dialog from movie.

I love it. My family thinks it's a gimmick
Let's keep this short....
This is what I love:
Play music without touching the speaker or my phone
Set timers without touching my phone/oven/clock
This is what I don't love:
Needs more bass
My family thinks it's a gimmick. Cos it's not important to make it tell jokes or say a word in german.

Good edition to the home.
The whole family have enjoyed using the Google home. It gets daily use for the weather, timers and playing music through Spotify. It has some other fun features that we occasionally use like quizzes and telling joke. It was quite expensive $199 with a bonus $50 gift card but I feel it has been worth it.

Okay Google, learn my accent
Google has always been a front runner in providing new and exciting technology - Google home has proven that to be true. Google home has incorporated itself into my daily life, from playing music and looking up recipes to reminding me about that Meeting i have at 5. The only thing still required to make the Google home an undeniable necessity is the ability to make phone calls.

Will be a huge part of our lives in the future...
It is a relatively new tech item that I decided to buy to try it out. It makes our lives easier but there are not so much options which can be synced with it. It is a great idea but more work needs to be done. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for it in the future and see what more it can do!
Otherwise, it looks very minimalistic and simple and it really blends in and adds a really nice touch to the house.

I can live without it
While saying I can live without it google Home has enriched my life In many ways that can not be understated.
The convenience of google Home certainly outweighs its reasonable price point. While the product does have drawbacks or flaws to it I am happy with the way it performs its tasks and would recommend it 10/10.

Thought it might be a dust collector, but using it daily
Grabbed 2 home mini's for $78 in Jan, thought it might turn into a bit of a gimmick/dust collector, however the simplicity and accuracy of assistant and ability to have multiple speakers in a home group around the house for playing music/podcasts has turned out to be useful. Using it daily and highly recommended.
