Bad, bad customer service
It doesn't matter what product you buy, if the customer support service isn't any good, it's just not worth it. I bought this camera in Nov 2016 on Amazon for an X-mas gift for $200. It worked 1 time and then died. It's May 2017, we still don't have a resolution. They took forever to decide they would send me a new battery and I finally received it the end of April. As soon as the battery shipped they closed my case. The new battering did not work either. Now I have to set up another case so I called and was told by a recording that the call ...Read more
volume was too high to either go online or call back and it hung up on me. I went online to try and find how to setup another case and it's not that easy. Instead of allowing you to fill out a case they force you to search all these solutions that have nothing to do with my problem. I can't find anything so I can actually set up a new case SO UNHAPPY!!!!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't buy this! Doesn't work without signing in.
We made the mistake of buying one and they are not cheap. It only works if you download an app and then register and sign in - so they can bombard you with advertising I suppose. I went though the registration process using Facebook which it seemed to do but then wouldn't let me log in. Daughter tried it, same problem. She only got it to work by finding an old version of the app. Its OK if you just want a straight out recording camera, but you can't use it in real time without the app. Don't waste your money.

Great camera for travel
We recently use the GoPro on a cruise from Hawaii to Sydney, we capture incredible movie swimming with the Sharks and stingrays, we could not explain the whole experience without the footage as it was a once in a life time experience .
I did however have a bad experience in one of your shops in palette, I went in the GoPro shop and punched a new touch back screen to replace my original when I bought the separate back screen ( I find the touch screen a great addition to the camera). They told me it was $30 USA, when I got home to Australia th...Read more

GoPro Hero3+ failed after little use (but out of warranty, doh!)
Camera failed after little use and after a short period of storage (not in use when failure occurred). Camera had been well looked and had never been wet.
Unfortunately the camera was 22 months old so no warranty. GoPro offered the same 20% discount but I'm not going to waste more money on such a rubbish product.
GoPro should man up and offer better warranty. Very disappointed with the reliability of the product.

Most Annoying Wifi Setup
Granted the camera is brilliant, but after 2 years of having the damn thing and then, as humans do, forgetting the wifi password, you literally have to go through the most ridiculous steps to get your wifi reset. With all today's modern technology you think they would make it easier.

The best of cameras... the worst of cameras. GoPro ? More like GoBackToShop
This little camera has nearly everything you could want in a sports camera. Lots of shooting modes, great speed, fantastic pictures, good audio and a huge ecosystem of supporting components such as mounts and harnesses so you can get that camera onto everything, eveyone and everywhere.
It's such a shame it's so ridulously flakey. I'm on my second one and it's just failed as well. These cameras are so hit and miss, all I can say is BUYER BEWARE. I had a GoPro Hero 2 Silver - worked perfectly, all the time (until it dropped into the se...Read more
a off a surfboard). Replaced it with the first Hero3+ and it was basically Dead on Arrival. Turned on, turned off. Recorded a little, then stopped, then froze. I took it back to the Camera place I bought it from and questioned the girl on returns and she looked at me, rolled her eyes and said "these things are being returned constantly". The harbinger of things to come.. I got a new one and it worked for a time, but then it started degrading (again). Now it will not turn on at all. If you google "GoPro here power on failure" or "GoPro recording failures" you will find a universe of Youtube videos on how people have been trying to work around the failures and masses of complaints on these issues. The same for Hero4 and Session lines as well. I tried all the tricks I could find. Mine's simply dead. It beggars belief that a camera that's so expensive has so many technical (hardware and software) failures and is considered the Gold Standard for this type of gadget. If you buy one - don't buy everything to go with it straight away (i.e the battery backpack, floaty back pack, mounts etc) - I did. All wasted. Test the thing out with the barest of expense and then commit to the rest :-(Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Dumbest Company In The World!
Do not buy a GoPro! It's absolutely one of the biggest waste of money I've ever spent and must be ran by complete [word removed]. Who releases a product with no instructions on how to operate. This is not a simple camera that is easy to figure out how to operate. Instead I couldn't figure it out at all, there was no instructions on how to use it and when I called the company I was told I needed to go somewhere to print the instructions off their website online, which isn't even an option for me and why should I have to jump through a million ho...Read more
ops to get instructions that should have come with their product. So now I have a brand new Hero 3 with many many accessories, all of which bought when the Hero 3 was first released and now it's November of 2015 and it all sat there in a drawer all this time because nobody can seem to figure out how to use it. Dumb dumb dumb company! Only company in the world dumb enough to sell a product without operational instructions! Do not buy this product! Besides my friend just showed me the HD quality of these super cheap cameras that come with these $200 or less drones (he owns 3) and the quality is just as good if not better on all 3, and much cheaper than buying GoPro and accessories and a drone to attach.Similar opinion? Awesome Gopro Hero3+ Black Edition
I didn't expect it's super high quality and the delivery was so fast (took 3 days). I've used it for scuba diving, rafting and sky diving! The quality of the pics and videos is perfect! (For these activities I bought some accessories) all the landscapes are awesome!

Worst customer service
I gave this as Christmas gift the first time it was used for diving the camera was 6 months old worked great. Stored it away tell next diving trip over 6 months later making the one year warranty over wouldn't turn on contacted GoPro they just kept repeating not under warranty would only off a 20% discounts towards a new one. Are you kidding what would keep the same thing from happening. I would expect better with this expensive name brand. Bought a knock off for $100.00 works great and easier to use! Know rounder why GoPro stock is down don't buy go pro

Great quality!
The GoPro Hero 3+ Silver is a great little device. It produces fantastic quality photos and videos with a variety of useful settings. The in-built wifi is fantastic for transferring files wirelessly. Another top feature is the waterproof case, and the enormous amount of accessories. It is a fantastic option if you don't have enough money to buy the Hero 4.

Once you get to know your GoPro, it's your best friend.
We have a great overseas holiday planned, so I waited the obligatory 60 days prior to depature (to the day) and purchased the GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition.
If you're used to taking pictures with your smart phone or general digital camera, you will find this very different. There is no screen on the back (though you can buy the LCD backpack - battery chewer) that can do this. But why bother when it connects to your phone or tablet via Wifi. Set your camera up on your selfie stick, tripod or where ever and then use your phone as the view finde...Read more
r. It means you can stand back from the camera, see how it looks, and remotely control it. That being said, the wifi remote isn't reallyi a great bonus for me, but the wifi (that is only on the black edition so far) is definitely by far an awesome feature. If you're going to invest in a GoPro, you MUST invest in a great quality memory card. This will unleash the GoPro's full potential. I'm a complete newby to GoPro but a weekend of playing around, I feel much more confident on what i can get it to do. There are some great websites out there on what you can do to get great shots. A simple one is the oven timer time-lapse shot (buy a cheapie timer like this http://st.houzz.com/simgs/71616b0a020c3cd9_4-3296/contemporary-timers-thermometers-and-scales.jpg). Stick your GoPro on top, set the timer and it is quite effective. Also, don't get sucked in to buying full price accessories like the suction mounts etc in major stores. There are good quality and much cheaper alternatives available on eBay. So if you're happy to invest a little time and patience in your GoPro (especially if you're new to it like me), it will reward you with great photos.Similar opinion? So far so good with GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition.
I have owned my GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition for the last few months, I have been experimenting with it more than anything else as I am a avid photographer however haven't needed or cared for video footage. I think I bought the GoPro more for the time lapse and still features than anything else however wanted to dabble in the video world.
I did look into the now defunct Contour brand, even into their best model at the time however couldnt justify forking out $500 on a camera that couldn't be fixed if anything ever arose. I looked into the Son...Read more
y action cam and was turned off by the picture quality in the housing and again didn't want to for over $500 for the new model as it also had the same lense and was a awkward design to mount on your body or on a pole. I looked into Drifts offerings and into the cheaper realm and couldn't find much more than what GoPro was offering already with a huge band wagon of people recommending them. I have purchased nearly every fitting and mount from eBay (Worldwide) and have found that the quality of some of the items have been identical and or if not better than some of the GoPro OEM products, I have invested in some spare batteries and these had to be reordered as the first lot didn't come and these are 1600mAh and given the GoPro 3+ Black at best 2 Hours 20mins of time. Edit: 20140709: I noticed that the battery level indicator is made from 3 bars on the screen, this should be edited to a 4 bar system as 3 is misleading and hard to gauge - otherwise put a number system eg: 55% and the battery symbol or something easier to visually manage... I have also gone out and made some fittings like a custom GoPole from carbon fiber, and a magnetic base and some other bits and pieces - all which turned out great and work well with the Hero 3+. I used some Samsung Micro SDHC Plus cards ($25 each) in the 32 Gig variation as I have heard that the 64 Gig cards of some brands can give you a headache in use, I have used these Samsungs on 1080 settings in Super Wide and have had no issues to date. Yet with 4000 mode I am unaware if there would be any issues? The Hero 3+ Black is a pretty good setup - its solid enough to take the beatings, but I use it mostly with the outer casing and use the skeleton case only in dust free environments and use a lense cap protector / UV filter when I am outside just to reassure me that dust / salt spray isn't going to rest on the lense.Similar opinion? Unable to view long files... anything over 5 minutes
Bit disappointed with the Hero+ Silver, though I like the concept.
I have issues in viewing the films I have taken. None over a few minutes are able to be used with film type software.. even the ones recommended by GoPro.
In fact I have bought another brand, that works fine, until such time as GoPro get a resolve for this complaint. I note that a Google search, many clients are also not happy.
Portable, compact and lightwieght
No facility to connect car 12 volt supply, for extended recording... only batteries.

Simple to use, amazingly clear picture, sturdy
I was lucky enough to receive a Silver Gopro Hero3+ as a gift. I have a fairly high-end HD Canon video camera but it's not exactly portable or weatherproof. The Gopro doesn't look all that fancy, but it's amazing when you take it out and give it a test run. I wore it for the cycle and run legs of a mini-triathlon, it was the first time I'd used it. When I downloaded the footage I was amazed at how clear and reasonably stable it was (given the amount of movement). I also had my kids take it on a waterside and have filmed my dogs with it. Even b...Read more
etter if you buy an extension pole, great to get aerial-looking shots, or hold it low to the ground to get another perspective. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts but I haven't had it cut out at inconvenient moments. You can hook it up to your smartphone and preview footage on it, but I found the connection to be a little laggy. There is no screen on the Gopro unless you buy an optional extra, but the way you tend to use a gopro (mounted and on the go) you aren't likely to be looking at a screen anyway. The housing has been perfectly waterproof for us in shallow water. The menu system is a little cumbersome, having to click through multiple menus using one button, selecting with another. It does come with self-adhesive mounts but I'd recommend getting an extension pole, and a chest harness (mine is a non-genuine harness but does the trick). I'm no professional, but here is the triathlon (better soundtrack, but can't view on mobile devices due to licensing - OK on laptop / PC):[url removed] Turn the sound off on the following one, same footage it has royalty-free music (which I added as a bit of a joke) so you can view on mobile devices. [url removed] The run is very unstable because I had the harness on too loosely. Not the fault of the Gopro. But fun footage anyway! This is a clip of my doggies shot with the go pro on a pole (high and low): [url removed]Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

This is a terrible produce
The GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition is the worse product I have ever bought. You will waste hours trying to get it to work. I used the expensive samsung card as advised and it still didn't work. I wasted another $80 trying to get data off the card. Still can't get the videos to work. It freezes all the time. Don't buy!
Doesn't work. You will spent hours trying to resolve problems. Totally unreliable.
