Great tasting healthy version of chips

published

Found them full of flavour great snack alternative. Great on there own or used with a dip. A healthy alternative snack that kids will also enjoy I really liked the sour cream and chives the best and taste not too weak.

No flavour in sweet chilli (bland) ?

published

Sweet chilli grain waves I just purchased have no flavour at all. Very disappointed. This is the second time. I wont be purchasing anymore nore will I be promoting them to any friends or with the sporting community when hosting events that they would be a good snack food to share.

Purchased in February 2021 for $5.00.

Has the recipe changed ?

published

I really did like the sour cream and chives recipe and it seems that now there is a lot more salt and vinegar - I will not be buying them again

Love Grainwaves

published

I'm addicted to the sour cream and chives flavour, so crunchy! The homebrand rip off doesn't cut it, just a warning to those thinking they're the same. Now even happier as there's more in the packet!

I have recently tried the cheese flavour and was quite disappointed, they had no flavour to me. My husband liked them though.

I usually love grain waves but when I opened the packet I was disappointed to find there was less than half a bag

No flavor

published

Just pruchased 2 bags of Sweet Chilli grainwaves .... usually love this product ... but any semblance of flavor was totally missing ....I'm assuming it was a production malfunction ... but quality control should have picked up on this. Tried to send them an email but the link from their website wouldn't go thru ...so I had to resort to this to get the message they to them

I only have a slight problem with it

you need to put more chips in the bag. It's annoying when you buy a bag of chips and it's half empty. Looks like someone has eaten half of the bag which sucks. Please improve this.

New twist on ridge-style chips

published

As someone who has always preferred the ‘ridge’ type of chips, Grain Waves fit the brief. They have a great crunchy texture, and while some of their flavours are a bit gimmicky, there are some great ones like ‘Sour Cream and Chives’. A couple problems to consider: a low number of chips in the bag (after all, each chip weighs more), and they tend to crumble easy in the pack - shake and listen first to get an idea. Overall, a slightly more healthy way to enjoy ridge style chips.

A nice but special type of chip design.

published

As we know, not all chips are the best but these chips are the good ones. Having a different chip style that we have not seen before might make some people like them due to the design of the chip but that's what makes it unique for me. Some people complain about how there is very few chips in the bag but i don't mind this very much at all because the taste is a good taste that makes people coming back for more.

Great flavour and texture

published

I recently tried these at a party and loved them so much I bought myself a pack (as soon as they were on half price sale Coles!). I think if you're used to potato based chips you might not enjoy them as much, but if you eat a lot of other variety of chips (corn chips, cheese chips etc) you will probably enjoy these.

Tasty treat

published

Pretty good flavour and texture. Often whole grain alternatives have a really different texture that I hate, not these. Its different but not in a awful way. Also the small lunch box packs are an easy quick treat to pack in my uni lunch box. By far a better choice than the unhealthy alternatives (though its really is still a treat not an everyday food).
tasty, healthy

I bought a Large Packet of Grain Waves (Sour Cream & Chives)

published

I bought a large packet of Grain Waves from Hobart City (Woolies) They were inedible and I had to throw them in the bin. Bought on Fri 23 Aug 2013. looked at the packet after trying to eat them being so stale and ""off"<> Details are Best Before 15 Sept 2013. 126 E B20.08. OK technically still 23 days in date but not fit to eat.
Cannot understand how this has happened and I still have the wrapper and still have the receipt. But I have wasted money on a product of extremely poor quality. I couldn't eat the chips and have has to throw them away for health reasons.
Nothing, they had No flavour and were Stale and made me puke
Stale, out of date, should not have been sold.

Tasty wholegrain chips

published

Seems like people either love grain waves or hate them. I really like them. They are packed with flavor and taste really yummy. Sour cream and chives is the best one! The chip texture is dense but very crunchy and crispy. I love that they are healthy too - not sure about how wholegrain they are but they are definitely much lower in fat compared to traditional chips because they don't coat your fingers with oil after every piece.
To the reviewers who got only ten chips in their bag, my small pack of grain waves (40g) definitely had more than that! didn't count but was probably close to 20. perhaps they just got a bad batch
tasty, healthy
expensive when not on sale, limited flavors

Very Nice

published

They taste similar to other corn chips like CCs & Doritos. The sour cream & chives and the sweet chilli flavours are probably the best ones. They are also a little bit more healthy than regular chips, since they contain less salt and are cooked in vegetable oil and contain less fat.
Good taste
Not enough in a packet

I have just tried grainwaves for the first time and I must say very disappointing. Too hard and no flavour.
I will never buy them again or recommend them to anyone else. My kids said the same thing and asked me not to buy them again. Not a happy customer.

a rip off

I purchased a small bag of grain wave chips from woolworths and i counted ten chips, where can i complain about this, its just not right, never again will i purchase grain waves, even though i like the product. It should be illegal to produce a product stating that the weight does not add up to the quantity in the packet. Very bad!
I love the taste
the quantity and i paid $1.49 for ten chips!

Loving the flavour

'' aah, you've done it again, smithy''. Sunday 7th August. Just had a small pack of Sweet Chilli grainwave with a Moet & Chandon. Could not ask for a perfect weekend to finish off. Love you guys. By the way kids love it as well. I rest my case.
Definitely inexpensive and energy efficient.

You should probably ask the company who makes this product what they use. Your question has only been directed to people who have previously reviewed the product. I certainly don't know the answer!

We shop at ocean grove and geelong and neither coles or woolies have in stock the plain grain waves, yes they have all the trendy flavours, but my family all like the plain grain waves and we cant see why they don't keep them, I refuse to purchase the flavours when I know the better product exists what coles doesn't realise is our grocery spend is approx 250 dollars per week and we would spend this all in one shop. Where we can buy the product we want?

Hi, probably better to direct this question to the makers of grain waves and ask them who their distributors are. This is just a product review site and so not the best place to get an accurate answer. Good luck!

like sarzie said it's probably better to direct the question to the makers of grain waves. it might be that you have to wait until coles or woolies get the plain grain waves.
