Enjoyed this coffee for a couple of years now

published

I have found this coffee to be very pleasant tasting, producing a rich crema and not too expensive. It's occasionally on sale so you can save a couple of dollars then. The reviews on this site that say it is terrible and to steer clear, etc. are totally WRONG. I can't imagine why they've posted these reviews. Maybe they got a really stale batch or something? Anyway, I can highly recommend this coffee. I've tried various brands and this stands above them all.

Automatic Machines Beware

Besides tasting bitter and smelling like crap, these beans clogged our machine up. Conclusion is the beans were not dried properly.

excellent coffee Smooth Crema

published

Have had my coffee machine for several years and was given Grinders Crema and was rapt and was using nothing else cos it suited my machine and my taste and visitors commented how smooth the flavour is with no bitterness. Now i find in my area cannot purchase the Grinders Crema anymore. Why is this hope it is not discontinued. Coles and Woolworths have both cut it out and only selling Espresso.

Tickles my taste buds

published

I must admit I really only bought the pack of Grinders coffee beans to try because it was half price to try along with a couple of other brands in my fancy new whizz bang coffee machine. How pleasantly surprised was I when Grinders produced a fiddle free grind and perfect crema and tasted far superior to the other more well known brands. I'm such a fan I even pay the full price because its worth it.

Stay away from this slop

published

I'm no coffee snob and I can't remember the last time I complained online about anything. Then I bought Grinders coffee.

Bitter, stale, smelly, difficult to extract through a machine, you name anything that corresponds with a crap cup of coffee, and Grinders delivers. I had to throw the stuff out after a few cups - and I'm a pretty frugal kind of guy who doesn't give up easily. No fiddling with my machine could improve this muck.

See Grinders in a supermarket and back away. Even when it's a half price special, don't weaken. Like someone said about this product in an earlier review, life's too short for mediocre coffee. If you've made the mistake of buying it like I did, bin it and move on.

Terrible

I found grinders coffee was disgusting. Have tried a few of the blends and decided to forget it. Life's too short for mediocre coffee.

Really good and stocked by most supermarkets

published

I hate it when my favorite coffee brand is deleted, because then I end up wasting money trying other brands which are often bitter and bad-tasting, so I was really pleased when I saw Grinders on special at Coles. I had previously tried the green packet and liked it, and this one was just as good if not better. I usually use the ground, but I did buy the beans when on special and they were really good too. The bonus with this coffee is that just about all the supermarkets stock it, so I can buy some wherever I am. Not overly expensive and often on special.

Taste/blend seems to have changed over the years

published

I am very hard to please when it comes to coffee.
Just had a 250g pack of Grinders Crema purchased for me to try, I have gone through several brands and blends only to find them too bitter, stale or overly fruity in taste.
Have highly recommend this blend in the past, beautiful crema as expected from the name.
I feel it is very important to get the beans as fresh as possible, my pack had almost two years on the best before date so they were fairly fresh by supermarket standard.
NB: I no longer purchase this brand or blend after 5 years of continued daily consumption of 1 cup per day.

Purchased in February 2021 at Coles Online for $21.00.

Rubbish; Threw mine in the bin after the first cup

published

I remember when Grinders were a boutique coffee house in Carlton and I would drive from the other side of town to buy their beans. How far they have fallen. Obvioulsy supermarket beans can never be expected to be 'fresh' but these were absolutely odourless and tasteless. Stale beyond belief. Put it this way, when I opened the pack, I could even smell 'coffee' when i put my nose right in the pack. And the taste....well it didnt taste like anything....flavourless.
Cheap, but you get what you pay for
Tastes horrible, stale beyong belief.

Best crema coffee ever!

published

This is a review on the coffee beans (not ground).
The coffee beans of grinders crema are perfect. The coffee I produce is smooth with a touch of sweetness. It is a medium body with hardly any acidity. I can highly recommend it. And the crema it produces is to die for!
Smooth, medium body, sweet acidity and great quality arabica beans. I can always produce great crema with my coffee machine.
Couldn't find any!

Not very good

published

I've just upgraded my espresso machine and grinder (spent $1500).
First coffee I used was '5 senses', smelt lovely but used most of that up dialing my settings in.
Anyway, ran out of that and need more coffee for a Formula 1 Sunday night and for monday morning, and 'grinders crema caffe' was the only thing available at the local shop on a sunday except for vittoria/harris/timms, so I gave it a go.
Opening the packet of beans it smelt stale, grinding it smelt the same, and it tasted like it smelt.

6 months old I found out after I bought it. I didn't see the date since it was hidden underneath, not somewhere obvious like on the sides.

yes it really makes a difference to buy beans roasted within a few days-weeks........not months.

Surprisingly very very good!

I saw this blend in Coles the other day and decided to try it out. I must say that I wasn't expecting much as it was next to Robert Tims, Harris and other similar coffees.
Anyway, when I got it home and ran it through my espresso machine, I couldn't believe the results. A beautiful, smooth experience with excellent coffee flavours. I think this may be in part due to the grind, which was quite fine and I found to extract very well.
Well done Grinders!
lingering smooth flavours, extracts well, not bitter

Good idea to look at the strength rating,as this is the weakest variety Grinders makes.I like the strongest one for short blacks !

We would like to know if all coffee capsules are the same size - we have bought Grinders cafe espresso capsules and are confused as to which machine to purchase.
