Broke insanely easily, was a great machine if you worked for it
My grinder worked fantastically for its price when I first received it - blew the blade grinder I had used prior out of the water in terms of consistency. The downside is you needed to slave away, turning the grinder for over 3 minutes to get enough grounds to make a cup. To make matters worse, a month after purchase, the metal bit (I mean that literally, a 'bit') at the top had gradually worn away the cheap plastic covering it and although it would still spin, it did not grind coffee anymore. e manufacturer stated this was my fault for using it too hard. I searched around and found that Hario had apparently changed how they produce their grinders and had recently changed to a weaker plastic in some of their factories, so it looks like it's a bit of a lottery as to the quality of your grinder.Similar opinion? I had the same experience with a manual Baccarat Coffee Grinder. It stopped grinding after two weeks use by one person once a day. The plastic gears stopped transmitting the turning action to the burr. Also the top cover where beans are loaded became hard to open after grinding each time until it was near impossible to remove. The store replaced it and the new one is exhibiting similar symptoms.
They must be all made by the same factory in china but under different brands
