Amazing finishing
Ultra Premium Ultratrim Enamel High GlossI am the owner of "Kops Painting". I do most repaint job around Melbourne south east Suburbs. I always use Haymes ultra trim high gloss for all woodworks. I would not recommend for exterior jobs.

Excellent alternative to oil based enamel
Ultra Premium Ultratrim Enamel High GlossI painted the skirtings and window trim with the high gloss Ultratrim enamel and was very happy with the result. I painted two coats as one was not enough coverage. It was dry enough to recoat after 5 hours (may have been ok sooner but I didn’t check). It didn’t dry too fast and allowed me to run the brush over it a few times to get a smooth finish amd it levelled out nicely. The paint dried to a nice gloss, not as glossy as high gloss oil based enamel, but closer to the semi gloss look that I actually wanted. I’m really happy with this paint.

Yellowing under 12 months
Ultra Premium Ultratrim Enamel High GlossPainted large extension (80sqm) with a lot of trim. White high gloss. Noticed the hallway has started to go yellow already.
Very disappointing. Looks like it needs to be redone already .
Thought it was the best paint to use going by all the reviews.

Ultra Premium Ultratrim Enamel High GlossExcellent product. I'm simply astounded by the quality of this solvent-based enamel. It reminds me the very best British and Dutch oil/solvent based enamels I was trained to work with 20+ years ago in the UK. I'm no longer in the trade, but this paint rekindled my love for the work from the days past...
You need to have the skills, be reasonably fast and have a good quality bush, but the experience is worth it - you can feel the brush, the cut, the pull and the paint responding to your finest strokes ... with your eyes closed - a pure pleasure to work with and the results are simply magnificent. Also, this enamel is very forgiving.

Ultra Premium Ultratrim Enamel High GlossI should have listened from the start. I would have saved myself 2 weeks worth of wasting time around with inferior products by other brands.
First off, and you've heard this before - prepare the job properly. Ideally, lay down several primes, sand by hand using a fine grit sanding sponge and get your undercoat SMOOTH. Any surface textures will be reflected in the top coat. If painting wood projects, Tape up the sides as you will get runs off the side. Stir the paint well before application.

... Read moremum of 2% per litre of penetrol. I did neither. The paint is good to go straight out of the can, which is miraculous considering what i went through with other brands. The paint itself is a tad to the watery side beside Dulux's super enamel, and for good reason - it doesn't go sticky within 30 seconds and you have more time to get it nice like. The trade-off is you won't cover the undercoat on the first run (i used high gloss BLACK) but the flow is impeccable and a brush can be used harmoniously without risk of leaving brush marks. Seriously, i went over the job 5 minutes after laying it down to clear some bubbles and it reflowed beautifully without any sign of brushing. Don't use a roller - foam, microfibre, mohair - none of these are suitable for wood working. I had no need to try with a foam brush but i suspect it would yield fantastic results also. If you want a textured surface, work with the undercoat and prepare your texture underneath the top coat, which is more forgiving particularly if it's a creamy waterbased, and then lay a thin topcoat with a brush. It will dry to a glass finish.
