What happens to the air after it passes through this bit of bent tin at the start of the air intake? It goes through the throttle body and then into the intake manifold then through the inlet valve all of them are designed to control air flow into the motors combustion chamber so would make any swirl effect from the hyclone useless

Sparky
Sparky ·

lol, buy one, try it, don't like it then send it back. Don't make assumptions until you have given it a 'whirl'.... They work, and work well, they have for me across many different vehicles. That's an opinion based on FACT, not merely a perception. :)

RC1
RC1 ·

LMAO assumptions and perceptions I in fact know how an engine works. How does the swirl effect from this thing still continue through the throttle body butterfly and intake runners? How does the swirl effect make it through a turbo? How does putting something like this in your intake not restrict air flow?

Craig H
Craig H ·

You were making a little sense there til you said turbo.
That’s on the wrong side of the engine for your argument.

Can these be fitted to 2012 v6 commodore. Would I notice any improvement in performance and fuel economy? I recently did a trip to Melbourne on the Hume Hwy and got 1000 ks to a tank.of fuel.

Thanks in advance

Yes, 1x or 2x can be installed with very good results.

Hi Ron, my friend had a couple fitted in Melb & had good results. He fitted one 1st because he was still a bit skeptical, but was surprised by towing & economy gain. From head offices in Melb & Perth they are $160 each incl gst + $12 del, I think shop in Cairns charges more $175 +$18 del. Contact Hiclone at Fuelsaver.com.au they have installers all over the country as well, some of these supply & install for $160 each

This will do nothing. It may even restrict air flow as your engine will have to pull the air through an extra thing half blocking your intake. Your engine is basically an air pump and the more restriction to air flow the harder it has to work. Open up your air box not put things in to block air Google 2 hole mod, though not sure if that can be done to your model.

Not always correct RC1.
You're assuming every engine is built to perfection and that's ignorance at its finest.

Some engine are not perfect from the factory due to manufacturer cost cutting wherever possible to maximise profits (car manufacturers are business after all) as a result, the Hiclone does seem to improve some vehicles fuel economy by improving air intake into the engine.

While this might sound counter intuitive to ignorant people who assume car manufacturers always build their vehicles perfectly with everything working at its most efficient, when they often don't and instead cut corners to save a few bucks - Take rubber vs brained steel brake hoses for example, brainded steel are better, safer, more reliable and yet they're rarely included on vehicles even though they have been proven to reduce braking distances thus making the vehicle more safer, yet the manufacturers skimp on then and go for CHEAPER rubber hoses that expand and can fail much easier.

The Hiclone is not much if a restriction when you pay attention to the fact its thin metal.

There is nothing worse than people claiming a product doesn't work on ANY VEHICLE all because they installed one on their vehicle and it showed no improvement. It seems many people can back up improvements on their vehicles and since everyone drives differently and many people don't know how to drive f'ing efficiently, I'll take feedback from you and those like you who always rite off something for every vehicle ever made all because it wasn't an improvement on your engine.

Long story short, all engine are different and some can and do benefit from a Hiclone - Yes, I know this will be hard for you to comprehend...

I am considering buying a hi clone for my Hilux 3Litre non turbo diesel. It has a snorkel fitted, would this be the best place to fit it? As I would like a bit more HP for steep hilly roads in my area. Do you think the hi clone would improve performance noticeably ? Many Thanks Myles.

Hi,
I would suggest it wise to contact Hiclone directly to get that kind of advise. www.hicloneqld.com. He will be able to help you.

Hi Myles, most of the recent cars I have had installed are all diesels with great results. Contact Hiclone at Fuelsaver.com.au they have a lot of experience with Diesel engines & also sell Electronic Tuning systems for later diesels.

I have a 2013 Hilux 4x2 petrol 100,000km would I benignity from fitting Hiclone or just K&N filter
Grahame

Hi, I would talk to John from Hiclone. His website is hicloneqld.com, or google hiclone and it will come up. I would suggest running a k & n and at least 1 hiclone. Not sure how many the hilux can take, best ask John. My current Prado has a snorkel, so i was able to put one in the snorkel and one near the throttle body. Hope that helps!

Hi Grahame,

Sorry for the delay, I rarely look at the reviews area please use the email address [email protected] or call me on 1800 683 466 or 07 4038 3102 for a much faster response.

3x Hiclones (standard size $175) will work very well for you and 4x units if you have a snorkel, we'll give you a 120 day money back guarantee, I suggest you put them all in at the same time and see how they go over the next 30-40 days then if you want to, take the one out at the filter end and if you think you don't need it give me a call and send it back, basically 1's good 2's better 3's best.

You'll get much more from the Hiclones than you would from a K&N filter though these two products work very well together.

They are very easy to install and if you get stuck I'm a phone call away. https://www.hicloneqld.com/installation/ If you purchase 2 x or more I'll give you a discount off the total.
Petrol Efi: Installing a Hiclone 5-30cm back from the throttle body will give you 5-15% increase in power and between 10-20% better fuel economy, placing a 2nd unit at the filter end will give you 30-50% more than one Hiclone

Snorkel:
If you have a snorkel a Hiclone into the top will surprise you with extra power and economy as it creates a vortex that wants to and does suck more air in. https://www.hicloneqld.com/testimonials/

K&N Air Filters:
We also market K&N filters, by using an oiled pleated cotton gauze as the filtering medium these allow up to 50% more air flow than the standard paper filters, the better your engine can breath the better it performs and gives you greater fuel economy, coupled with the Hiclones vortex effect they work very well together and you'll never buy another filter, as they are washable and give you a 1.000.000 Mile warranty. http://www.hicloneqld.com/kn.html

Supermax:
Installing a Supermax as well will give you 30-50% more power and economy than you will get with one Hiclone. http://www.hicloneqld.com/fuelmax.html

Pulse Plugs:
New spark plug technology, these plugs dramatically increase discharge power by up to x 10. https://www.hicloneqld.com/pulstar-plugs/ How they work Video on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w962iS-7ELQ&feature=youtu.be

Oil Filter Magnet:
Traps the particles your oil filter can't. The standard oil filter can only filter down to approx. 25 microns. Bearing tolerances are 10 microns. The Oil Filter Magnet by trapping those smaller particles decreases abrasion in the motor, improving efficiency and reducing wear. Transfers from oil filter to oil filter, vehicle to vehicle, you've got it for life. http://www.hicloneqld.com/oilfilter.html

Hiclone cost $175, Supermax $150, Pulse Plugs $30 each, Oil Filter Magnet $60, the K&N filters depend on the vehicle, please call, all prices inc. *GST. P&H is $20* to order call 1800 683 466* or follow this link for a secure order form https://hicloneqld.com/orderform.php we take Visa or MasterCard or you can direct deposit and Paypal.

For more information or if you would like to order please call me on 1800 683 466* or 07 4038 3102. http://www.hicloneqld.com

How much difference would image to a gas/petrol car. I do run botg

John
John ·

I don't know every vehicle will be different the only way to find out is to try one. keep a record of how many Lph kilometres your currently using over say a month or so to get an average then fit one and you'll find out but if it does nothing return it before the required date. And as I've mentioned don't go by their claims and expect the best results.

Has anyone purchased Pulstar spark plugs from HiClone?

John
John ·

No because I have only fitted hiclones to diesel 4WD's.which don't have spark plugs. Personally if I was going to try their spark plugs in a petrol motor I would not combine them straight away with another product because you won't know which item is improving or not helping your motor. I would try the spark plugs then test them for a while to see if they helped and if they did you may want to try a hiclone or their air filter but as I mentioned give each item some time in the vehicle so you can see if they are actually working.

Another important thing is don't just expect your going to get the maximum results they claim you can. I think they get a little excited in that area and quite often some people just expect to get maximum gains and when it doesn't happen they bag the product. Look for results at the bottom end of the scale if you get that then it's an improvement any more then it's great. You also need to keep accurate fuel econ results of you vehicle over a period of time in litres used per one hundred km so you get a good average of it's fuel usage then you have good data to compare their product with.

I drive a 2009 holden colorado 3.6l V6 peyrol. Any first hand reports?

SolarWaterCooler
SolarWaterCooler ·

Hi Philip,
We have used them on petrol & diesel cars over the years but my last petrol car was sold in 2004, I still have them on boat & jetski which are petrol. I have a friend with a VE 3.6L Commodore, which I think is the same engine who fitted Hiclone about a year ago, he pulls a horse float & says it helps on economy but most of all low down towing power is better. It would probably be better to ask [email protected] for more specific info.

Ian ·

Don't waste your time asking Hiclone. Of course they will gloss their product. The 'swirl' created by the Hiclone is lost as soon as it hits the intake piping / throttle body. If you want better fuel economy and power, install a better air filter and run premium fuel.

Sparky
Sparky ·

From a first hand experience i can say they work, and work well, on my petrol and diesel vehicles I've had them installed on. Throw a K & N airfilter in as well for sure, it helps the whole process. Just go to www.hicloneqld.com and John will help you out. Have dealt with him many times over the last 10 or more years. I think they also offer a money back G'tee, so no harm in giving them a go, and if it doesn't work for your vehicle, simply send them back!

Brian,
If your driving habits are bad nothing will give you better fuel consumption, however, if you have fuel conscious driving techniques then a Hiclone should help lower the fuel consumption.

Sandpeople1, as you are a seller of these foil-hat devices your "opinion" is no doubt heavily biased by your desire to get more people to waste their money. Perhaps these review sites should be reserved for those who don't have a vested interest.

Can't answer that, I don't think so, check with your car maker.

I don't know but I would also suggest you check with the car manufacturer. Don't know why you would want to bother with one though.
