Engine oil consumption
Nov 2015 colarado has used 1.5 to 2ltrs of oil within 15000k been under oil consumption check since 22000k went to a 40 grade still using I am at 60600 and they still doing a check they top up the oil so naturally when they put in 1.5 ltrs at 6to 7 thousand ks the viscosity is raised again because you have added nearly a third of the oil capacity so when you take it back at 10 or 11 thousand it will only take approximately 250 to 500ml which is within their specs smart aren't they anything to get out of fixing the problem.
November 2nd 2017 ...Read more
Update: Latest on my Colorado Went in for another oil consumption check Monday 30/10/17 it has only done 3000ks since last service has been running 40 grade oil for the last 2 services I was informed that all is fixed now they have changed the filler cap which reads 5w 40 and changed the oil and filter again if you had the car at a small workshop in China you would expect that what a joke Holden they are an insult to anyone with any mechanical aptitude .I would be ashamed to say I worked at the dealership. I have the car serviced at a different dealership than the one I purchased the vehicle because of distance. November 6th 2018 Update: Oil consumption and warranty Warranty is almost impossible to get from Holden if you find a honest dealer you have a chance looking at second hand RG if it's got 5w40 on filler cap stay away, talking from experience I am still waiting for engine replacement out of warranty in 5days 95000ks useing 2ltrs in 9000ks normal driving to towing is not possible would use 3ltrs been under oil consumption test since new buyer beware.

Waste of Time
110 thousand ks and on its 4th clutch. The previous 3 have all been claimed under warranty however the latest one was out of warranty (just!) Holden do not want to know about the issue after 2 faulty fittings...... crap service.
We requested the parts back as we were were told it was the pressure plate that had failed. However it was the thrust bearing that had failed (the previous problem as well). The pressure plate was fine until we turned it over. The entire outer surface was covered in deep gouge marks and the bolt holes were no longer c...Read more

Poor rear suspension
Firstly let me say I love my Colorado. 36000 k with no trouble. There have been the odd recall but but nothing major. Now the suspension, no where good enough for a 1 ton work horse. My 4 x 4 is set up like a lot of others canopy draws fridge etc. With no camping gear she comes in at 2600 kg. Standard springs are flat.
With all the camping gear about 2850kg and I have about 25 mm to bump stops and she bottoms out on the slightest hump. I was told by the service manager that I would have issues trying to claim as he considered the vehicle over...Read more

Good so far
Ive had my 2017 Colorado LS for a short time now. Travelled about 3000km so far, a bit early to tell of any problems, but none so far. Coming from a 2013 Triton, this ute exceeds it in all aspects. Comfort, handling, power, lower road noise, lower fuel consumption etc.For a base car having Android Auto is a big + for me-handsfree information/phone/navigation.The base models of other makes were quite poor in comparison-at this time.Very happy with purchase.
Update June 2018-I have travelled nearly 10000km on my Colorado with no warranty issues. T...Read more

Damn good ute and tow vehicle
Bought this after testing most of the opposition, overall package and price was what we wanted, it also came with a lot of already fitted extras, and specifically wanted it for towing our camper. First trip with 500km on the clock, we did 2300km to Mt Moffat and Carnavon Gorge, handled the trip brilliantly, comfortable for all 4 of us, and towed beautifully. Averaged 12.5 l/100km, but included some pretty knarly 4wd tracks, and deep sandy sections towing, so was pretty impressed.

Not as good as last one
I had a 2014 LTZ and I was very happy with it and after 80000 km I up dated ... I feel I made a mistake .. I find the motor noise and a vibration in the steering wheel and through the seats .. they tell me it's the computer needs adjustment .. I think the new motor and Gear box not as good as the 2014 model. I'm sorry I bought it I should have looked at other brands.
Update 5/12/17
1 have now travel 20,000 km and I’ve gotten use to the noise and vibration..( I turn the radio up ) on my trip around Australia it performed very well, good c...Read more

Best ute so far
I usually stick with hilux's. But had to look elsewhere as hilux don't have auto in xtracab. Best decision i made. Much more grunt, more comfortable and much better tow vehicle. Tows our caravan easy. Electric steering took a while to get used to, but i appreciate it now. So many extras standard from 3inch exhaust to transmission temp gauge. I would highly recommend the 2017 colorado.

Reliable...
I don't love it but hubby does, seeing as its a manual... I like the cup holders and the room in the back lol. nothing seems to go wrong with it much but quite often slow to start and blows a lot of smoke on a cold morning. might be because its a diesel. looks tough and the aftermarket reversing camera is definitely worth it as we got a canopy and its hard to see when reversing without it

Mediocrity rules
Agree on fault. 2015 LTZ used 2 litres in 3500 km. Dealer fix, replace 5W/30 oil with 5W/40!!!
Still on dealer suggested 3,000 Km test for comparison. Poor design rectified by dodgy method.
Also at 50,000 Km today battery boiled and expanded. Wty in 4WD is 12 month, while same battery in sedans is 30 Month??? (AC Delco original).
Would I buy again, Not likely.

Most reliable Colorado I've owned.
Previously owned a '12 LTZ - nothing but issues after 90K km. Battery fried and alternator blew. Had fuel sensor issues, battery terminal issues (the connectors, not the battery), had alternator issues...
Recently purchased a '14 RG and had absolutely no issues... Only been back to Holden once for a warranty job as 2 parts had been recalled. These 2 things were fixed. Only thing that's gone wrong would be the throttle body hose blowing off one end (hose clamp had loosened) on a long drive out west Qld. I've heard a lot of bad reviews about th...Read more

Not bad for a ute
This ute is reasonably quiet, the engine and transmission are smooth. The suspension soaks up bumps quite well. It seems well put together with no squeaks or rattles. There is plenty of power from the engine at take off. The soft suspension however doesn't help much with the handling when pushed hard. I have driven a Ford Ranger and would take the Colorado over it for the greater comfort.

Really great Vehicle
I have a 2009 Holden Colorado Turbo Diesel, from New. Have never had any problems with it, and have only had to replace the tyres, fan belts, and the battery the clutch and brakes are still very good after 144.800klms. I must admit that I have had several New Vehicles, but this is the best so far. This Vehicle has been very very reliable.

Love our Colorado
My husband has had 3 different makes of twin cab ute and the Colorado is the best of them all. It pulls our caravan without any problem and is also very comfy to ride in. Fuel costs for this car are about average for these type of vehicles. Nothing flash. Will have this car for a long time but will get another one when the time comes.

Stooged from the very beginning, faulty from top to very bottom.
Was happy knowing that I was purchasing not only a brand new supposedly RELIABLE vehicle, but my very first 4 wheel drive, only to have realised I've purchased an unsafe, unreliable, too many issues to list, lemon on wheels.
Only after purchasing a brand new 2017 Ltz Colorado, I noticed issues with it within days of having it. Complained to dealership only to be given in my opinion, answers which I do not know what to make of.

indscreen. During the days isn't noticeable but at night it's like a constellation of stars all over my windscreen extremely distracting from sunset onwards. A mate of mine compared it to chips on the windscreen but on the outside you can't feel the bumps if they were. Until I was told there were ways you can hide or cover them up. Hail or road chips is what I was told could have been the cause, but I don't want to speculate. Driving it was too unsafe to the point I rarely have my family in there, and I've had to drive in the slow lane and avoided overtaking. Upon applying my foot to the gas pedal, the vehicle doesn't move straight away only after a few seconds then it jolts. EXTREMELY dangerous especially on the freeway and peak hour traffic. The excuse I was given from the service department of the dealership is that the car is still learning my driving patterns.??. My wife won't drive it after one incident where to get her use to the vehicle, she drove one night. Upon pulling out to take off, she freaked out that the vehicle didn't respond when she put her foot down to go. Then freaked out when cars from behind starting approach really fast. The whole family was in the car that night. The ride is EXTREMELY rough. The inside of the cab has alot of vibration, which I know is common in utes but the vibrations in my vehicle is extremely bad to the point back seat passengers have commented on its roughness and vibration. The vibrations can also be felt on the steering wheel itself and I'm constantly having to stretch my forearms at stops such as red lights. I drive alot for work. So constantly on main roads or the freeway. Something which the service department have stated is normal.??.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Been a Perfect Car
Bought the 2010 Lee 4wd in 2014 with 68k on the clock, have now added another 60k and it hasn't missed a beat! Most expensive repair I've had to do was clutch slave cylinder at a 110k. With the rest being minor, (battery, air con re-gas, & interior fan replaced) pretty good on fuel, 10km/100 around town and down to 9.7km on the open road, have traveled form Albury to Darwin three time (4000km one way) and has never let me down, runs smoothly, and was comfortable to travel in on the highway (love cruise control) has done plenty of off reading and aging has always been reliable, 4wd system has worked flawlessly.

Great Vehicle
Great performance, fuel economy, comfortable to drive. Great control system, Nav, Apple Play, Phone bluetooth easy to use and works. Find new features everyday I drive. Tows extremely well. Handles and drives well. Good 4 x 4 features, Grade breaking works well when descending. Havn't used for serious 4 wheel driving so unable to comment. Only complaint would be Headlights not bright enough and lack of cup holders and storage. Minor complaints only.
