I mean it kind of does but, I don't know enough of the area so it would be better to get touch with someone who does or holden australia could point you in the right direction

Hi, Avoid it as age would have taken it's toll on most components on this model by now. Engine is prone to have valley gasket issues leaking oil, Water pumps are usually a common failure item and so are the radiators on them. The 2001 model is actually a 3.8 litre Buick sourced engine and not the more punchy 3.6 alloytec. The VX is a $350 car at Auction these days and not an economical purchase. Save your money and buy a VE with detailed service history and books

The VT /VX/VY/VZ were a great series from Holden. They are a little smaller and lighter than the VE therefore fuel economy was better. The 3.6 was a good motor and generally reliable but the higher the kms then with any car you have issues. I had a few and regularly did up to 90000kms a year . Usually the younger the car the better - but I’d concentrate more on the condition. I wouldn’t have an issue with one - sure the VE is even better - but what’s your budget? That’s the main question

Change your thermostat, and then drain the radiator and cooling system. Refill with new coolant and ensure you bleed the coolant system when you fill it. The bleeder screw is where your top radiator hose clamps on the engine.

Just behind the intake manifold, on the passenger's side facing downwards into engine, should be about a little smaller than a 20c piece size.

Your abs module could be faulty i have come across this a few times where every light on the dash comes on
Change the module on the abs pump under the bonnet should fix the problem

Take it to a performance auto shop

id be taking it to a machanic straight could have done a bottom end

Hi, I am not a mechanic but it seems to me to be crankshaft bearing, or connecting rod bearing, especially seeing as you put the engine under load by accelerating. Best see your mechanic for his opinion

Apart from the obvious that you have fitted a low amp battery the security system does use a bit of power when not using car
you could fit an isolating switch at the battery end, i used to disconnect battery lead on VT commodore if left for long at airport

Also check the boot and glovebox light switch

Thanks mate for the reply. Yes ive checked the boot ect. lights. Ive had many batterys and not them at fault. Im thinking a short somewhere maybe. I was hoping it was a easy fix common problem in the vx's. The way its so random makes me think a short but can a short drain a battery in half a day. Again thanks for your help
