Loved my viva!
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)While not a powerful car (really rumbled going up steep hills!), my viva was the best car I've driven. It offered an uncomplicated driving experience, combined with all the comforts you could ask for in its class. Smooth and reliable. Easy, affordable care. Big storage and a good stock radio/stereo system. It's perfect for small families and I would really recommend it to anyone with a modest budget.

JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)Purchased the Viva 06 as a second car, Now it's the main car and love it. I drive a lot and no problem.
Some people, like with all cars owners, there are some weaknesses. Yes I had a coil problem, $40.00 from the wreckers and 20 minutes later. Yeehaa, go's like a rocket. Nice car to drive. Looks fantastic.
never had a problem
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)I bought my holden viva sedan 2005 brand new. I used it for work & going to Melb. for appointments. Never had a problem with it. it runs smoothly, airconditioning is good & petrol wise it's economical.
it's yearly serviced by holden so am confident that this car should last me for a while.
2008 Holden Viva Sedan
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)Had nothing but trouble with this car ever since I got it. First the driver side window stopped working then the back right hand one, got a new retractor motor put in driver side $600 dollars, parts are hard to find and had to send away retractor to get fixed. Still need other window fixed. The handle on passenger side snapped off out of nowhere got that replaced. The engine makes alot of ticking noise when driving and in idle aswell Idk if this is normal but it's pretty loud. I've had a timing belt replaced slot earlier. Another problem I'm ha

The worst problem was when I had to replace the whole aircon compressor, which was 1500 !!!! The comprassor broke. And I still have 7000 owing on my loan. Can't wait till I can get a new car. Big boot. ABS signal, expensive parts because had to get sent away, cheap parts ib the interior.

Great car
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)I bought my Holden Viva end of 2007, got the sedan manual in blue. I must say being the first car that I bought brand new it has done the job and continues to do it. I have had it since 2007/8 so for almost 6 years now and the first thing to break on it was the driver side silver door handle which cost $30 to replace. I have had no other problems with it since then and has been great for my use. Can happily fit 4 big blocks two snowboards and gear in the car for a 6 hr drive no problems and fuel economy is good. I don't know how everyone else d

JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)Good car, runs always, all variants of the viva are powered by an economical and reliable 1.8 litre DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine that produces peak power of 89kW at 5800 rpm and peak torque of 169Nm at 2600rpm that is sufficient to get around smoothly and cheaply
Great little car would recommend!
Good little car
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)Nicely re-styled version of Daewoo's Lacetti but with a fresher, sportier interior and nicer choice of body colours. The car was very good value and performed acceptably well. Holden dressed it up a bit to make it fit the styling of the rest of their range, but basically it's a small family car, not a mini HSV.
The 1.8L four cylinder engine was functional rather than sporty, but provided adequate performance and very reasonable economy. The interior was roomy, with lots of storage space. The boot was of acceptable size. I found the seats
... Read morea little hard (but comfortable) and flat, but anyone a bit wider across the beam would find them snug. The instruments are very attractive and the cockpit is quite a pleasant place to be for this type of car. The car proved generally reliable, except for once when the check-engine light came on and which was quickly traced to a faulty transmission control module, replaced under warranty without fuss. There was also a squeak in the steering, which on inspection was found to be due to a split in the steering column, also replaced under warranty and drama free. The car also has a recall for brake line modifications from Holden. Otherwise the car behaved as expected, was easy to drive and was very good value. Although there was always a niggling question mark over the quality of some of the materials, realistically you won't get Japanese build quality for the price. If you buy this car with realistic expectations, and be prepared to look after it, then you won't be disappointed. Good value to buy new, nothing special but performed exactly as expected. Possible question mark over ultimate qualityGood
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)Overall I love the Viva, great choice in colours, huge boots and plenty of seating room for parents with more then 2 children. I agree with another reviewer totally by them saying when people see where the Viva is made they think it will be of bad quality, but this is not true, I have found no real faults with the Viva so all in all it is great value for money.
Price, Size, Fuel Usage
For the life of me I can not find where to switch on lamp/light to turn on when car door is opened.
Good
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)I have the black 2007 sedan. The bad news - We've had a few issues with electrical fuses and we are currently having some transmision trouble. The fuel economy isn't flash and I was upset to see that it's just a Daewoo with a Holden badge. The good news - It's a smart looking little car in black and looks even better with alloy wheels. Easy to drive and park, female friendly :) Cheap to insure, good boot space for a small car and it doesn't look like a tissue box like other small cars.
Lots hidey holes, car seat hitches on all 3 back seats, price, CD/MP3 Player, Ipod jack.
Poor fuel economy for a small car.

JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)Great little car, cheap to run,had a ts astra before the viva and like the viva much better as it is a lot cheaper to insure and run and a lot more features
price,economy-i get around 8 lts per 100ks in my manual, there is a good amount of space inside and has a good boot for a small car and can tow 1200kg
build quality a bit average,uses a bit of oil(about 1 ltr every 10,000ks)
Good
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)Good little car with a lot of features, 4 airbags and air conditioning, there is enough space in the the car for standard family, Does not use too much petrol, driving in first and second gear mostly uses about 10L/100km, it would be less in normal driving conditions. Relatively modest interior, no flashy additions. RElativly big boot for such a small car (sedan).
Overall good car for around town and middle distance family trips.
Good little car for family, good price and a lot of safety features
Front interior look cheap with greyish plastic, the seat covers are made for wear and tear
Good
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)This is a great car that has surpassed most expectations for a car priced so low. It's packed with features, that more expensive cars don't have, and is comfortable to sit, with four adjustments alone allowed for the driver's seat!
There's plenty of storage space, and even the glove compartment can be air conditioned. The boot (sedan) has plenty of room, and has a handy hook on the side to prevent shopping bags flying around.
However, the driving experience is not the smoothest, with the gearstick in the manual jumping around when accelerat

Excellent
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)Overall, this is agreat little car! I drive a mix of both Country and city kms, and it performs very well. I have a small family, and there is plenty of Room for everything we need to go away for a couple of weeks. It has a good towing capacity (1200kg braked) meaning that when I want to go camping, I can fit all my gear. The handling is good, though a little light in the front, but this could be rectified with better tyres. The interior is comfortable and has enough gadgets for this price range. Speaking of price, it is good value when compared to say a Mazda 3 which is at least 3grand more. The wagon would have been great to buy, but there was a long waiting list.

Could use a two litre engine...
Good
JF (Sedan) (2005-2009)We bought this car about one year ago and we have found it to be the type of car that is generally on the market for this price range. It is a small to medium sized car which is great for smaller families, or for a couple. It is the perfect size for going away for anywhere up to one week. You can also tow a small trailer behind it and even with a full load, you barely even realise that you are towing anything at all. The only problem that we have found with this car is that sometimes the airconditioner makes a small noise for up to thirty seconds, but there is nothing wrong with it.
