Ticks lots of boxes.
It's a great car, purchased the non Turbo with the aging 1.8 engine for reliability. After reading the Honda turbo issues lately, I'm glad I did.
Had this car for little more than 2 years now, with 30k on the clock, here are my personal pros and cons.
Pros:
- Spacious and very practical
- Reasonably quiet and comfortable

- Not as quiet as Golf and Impreza, but drives better imho. - Android Auto and Apple carplay connectivity is great and stable on the 4 phones I tested. - 7 years unlimited km warranty (promotion) - Finally a Honda product without the rip off 6 months service interval, but.... Cons: - Service interval set at a tricky 10k or once a year, whichever comes first,.. that means twice a year service for most anyway, at almost $600, if you drive more than 10k per year. Interval at every 15k like most others, would have been great. - Rattle sound, around A-Pillar and fixed vents on top of dash. Not an isolated case, at least for the 2017/2018 builts. Unsure about the newer ones. - Roof metal sheet is super, super soft, bents easier and more than a Chinese plastic takeaway container. I noticed it while hand washing. - Passengers seat height adjustment would have been great. Way too low to get in and out for many. Mom and girlfriend prefer the backseats therefore. - minimum Unleaded 91 fuel required. Runs super smooth on 98, on 91 however it jerks a little once in a while and a noticeable performance drop, on mine anyway. Hope that helps

2008 Honda Civic - Lots to like, if you can live with the really loud road noise and other irritating short comings
My family and I recently purchased a used 2008 Honda Civic VTI-L after a job promotion required us getting a second car. One reason for this purchase was the vehicle was in excellent condition for its age and Honda's reputation for making reliable, good quality cars.
This review is based on three months of ownership and 7,000 kilometres of travel.
Our model is the mid-spec version that came with a 5 speed manual, electric instrumentation, front and rear power windows, cruise control, 6 CD stacker, auxiliary port to plug in a MP3, cigarette li...Read more
ghter, which can be used to charge mobile phones and run GPS systems, plenty of storage compartments for one's goodies and a full size spare wheel. Surprisingly it doesn't come with variable, intermittent windscreen wipers or fog lights. For a mid spec car, this is disappointing. The funky, space age design of the instrument cluster takes a little getting used to and may not be to everyone's taste. The large digital speedo, fuel and temperature gauges are housed in a separate, split section area high on the dash above where they would normally sit, with a very large tacho below, in the area the normal speedo of most cars are. Personally I like it, now I've got used to the set up. Its quirkiness is very practical, as it's very clear and directly in your line of vision. This means you don't have to take your eyes of the road as much or as often. It terms of clarity and safety, it's a big tick there. To date the engine has started straight away every time and is smooth and quite in operation once it has warmed up. While the 1.8 litre motor is no performance demon, there certainly is no issue with cruising on the highway at 110km/h. There is a good balance between power and fuel economy. Speaking of which, the fuel economy has been excellent, returning around 7.0 litres/100km of mainly highway driving between Taree and Laurieton, on the mid north coast of NSW and poking about around town.Purchased in August 2021 for $4,200.00.

Great car
Brought secondhand for $500. Been the best $500 I ever spent. Paint is quiet soft and clear pealed fairly quickly however it's never broken down and never given me problems which is what you would expect from a Honda motor vehicle.
Seats aren't as comfortable for longer trips but around town is great on fuel and with the manual transmission it is very zippy
Purchased for $500.00.

Honda’s definition of parking sensor limitation - ‘car wash’ is categorised under ‘bad weather’
I purchased a Brand-New Honda Civic from Austral Honda in May 19. The parking sensors are faulty and go off whenever they’re getting wet. They keep beeping for days After rain or car-wash, even without anything in front.
Initially the dealer tried to talk me over that it’s normal for parking sensors to go off in the rain. Just because so many people around me have parking sensors in their cars, I didn’t buy what they said. After contacted their service department for a few times, they told me Honda Australia is still waiting for a new counter ...Read more
measure parts to be released for the parking sensor grill. The waiting period can be up to 1 year, and I have to follow up the solution by myself as the service department wouldn’t be able to remember which cars have the sensor problems. Apparently, this is a well-noted issue to Honda, but they didn’t do their due diligence to check. If customers were UNLUCKY to pick up the car on a sunny day, then they wouldn’t be able to find out the problem until it’s raining or washed the car. After I made a complaint and requested a car replacement, their customer service called me and told me to read the car manual without an apology for the inconvenience caused. In fact, the manual doesn’t mention rain or water would create issues to the parking sensor at all. When I said that, their customer service was surprised and told me he would go and read the manual and then call me back. Our conversation only lasted for 1 minute, and I was shocked by their unprofessional customer service. On the following day, he called and told me " the manual doesn't mention of rain but does mention of bad weather, so “rain water” and “car wash” are all categorised under the bad weather." I don’t know if any normal people would believe car-wash is related to bad weather?! Regardless it's raining or car wash, the parking sensor should only go off when the car is approaching to objects, otherwise it’s not fit for purposes. However, once the car is sold, they don’t care about customers’ safety and the risk/loss we may face. Then what’s the whole point to spend extra money on those SAFETY features, when customer can’t use it from the very beginning and Honda doesn’t give a sh*t to safety. If there is any problem, they only find any ridiculous excuses to avoid taking responsibilities for the failure of their products, which doesn’t help customers instead make us more frustrated. It has been 4 months since I made the purchase, there is still no solution. I paid lots of money on a BRAND NEW car just in order to have a hassle-free experience, but unfortunately see what I get. Before you make a decision to buy a Honda, rethink of the product quality you may get, and most importantly what kind of irresponsible customer service you will have to deal with!!!Purchased in May 2021.

Fun to drive !
I had purchased this car brand new from Honda in the UK. With only 2k on the clock I had to sell for half the price as I relocated to Australia.
After 6 years here I re purchased the Honda Civic FN2 Type R. It was a much older model than what I had before but this one had a few extras, such as the sunroof which is kinda noisy.
Speaking of noise, I have to admit that these models were so noisy in many areas, why??
Lots of creaking, hard suspension causing banging and so on. If you just play your music loud enough, you live through it and enjo...Read more
y the car for what it is. The gears / clutches seem to have an issue, mainly with 3rd gear. I had this issue in both the cars, worse in my current I guess due to age. Can’t count how many times I’ve grinded that gear. None the less, I still love it.Purchased in October 2021.

Honda Civic ticking boxes but not lighting up the sky
Family car, school run, work, city driving you name it the Civic does it all. It has plenty of space and fuel economy is great. The engine seems to lag a little when accelerating and runs longer when coming off the gas. Handling is good but not superb and just lets the car down a little. The spec inside with apple car play and other blue tooth devices is excellent allowing connectivity with the phone as well as rear view camera ability. Most of all the wife loves the car, however it just isn't a drivers car for me but does tick a lot of boxes very well indeed

Great on fuel and fun to drive
I use this car basically every day to commute to work as well as long road trips on the weekends. There's heaps of room in the back for friends to fit in as well as a deceptively larger boot than expected which is awesome.
I got all the bells and whistles on my Honda, so it has the sensors, etc which I think are a godsend when you're on the highway and are on cruise control. I love that there's seat heaters and that the A/C can be adjusted for each person individually.
Cost on fuel and zipping around is great and on the open road this car is...Read more

Honda Civic VTi-LX
Having test driven most other cars in the class, the Honda comes out on top, looks, luxury and economy are all grade A. It’s fun to drive and as expected from Honda, well thought about and finished. I am quite tall and even in my position the back passenger behind the driver seat has plenty of space, the boot in the hatch is also huge. Perfect for every day and for going away.
The cruise control and Honda Sense are simply amazing as well

Supposed to be compact, but more mid sized sedan
The redesign is either like or dislike.... to me its a major love. The design is one of a kind and when it takes off the garage when my wife takes off with it some days, brings a big smile to my face every time. I've got the VTi-s version (non turbo) still has the pep of a honda engine (not in eco mode). Interior is futuristic and not the blingie wanna be luxury design. Ppl complain about the touch volume control, but having a volume control on the steering wheel (both touch and physical) makes it a very minor issue. But post 2017 other release...Read more
s comes with the volume knob design. I like how low the drivers seat can get and the thick leather steering makes the car a pleasure to drive. Road noise is low. And with two kids they enjoy the long drives thanks to the largeish windows and space in the back. I don't see it as a compact sedan, its more borderline mid size sedan. Honda 5 year warranty (now 7) with capped price servicing is icing on the cake. Issue 01: not sure if it is with all cars, but if you have your stereo off you can hear the break pads brushng against the disk. Issue 02: Occasionally there is a rattle in the dashboard on the passenger side. Still unable to pinpoint exactly where. How can Honda improve: Would like Honda to have the most safety tech across the rage, like other car manufacturers. Bring the Hybrid version as well.Purchased in October 2021.

Not fit for purpose
When the car works, it has a nice feel to it.
BUT ...
It has had so many things go wrong with it. A lot are design faults!
For example, the
- The boot leaked when it rained. This required 3 visits to the dealer before they accepted the issue. It turns out to be a design issue where they replaced a porous seal with a rubber one.
- The washer pump is so low to the ground that going over a pebble causes it to crack. Any decent design would have the washer pump near the bonnet, not the road!

Great car
Very happy with my Honda. More then ten years no repair. Only battery and windscreen wiper blades. Tyres lasted me more then 67000km. when I do short runs under 10km back it’s uses about 9.5 to 10.2 lites per 100km. for a little car it’s bit too much. I have asked to mechanic he said short runs car doesn’t heat up.
Went to Sydney from Brisbane amazing mileages 5.5 litres per 100 km. It’s been reliable car so far

I absolutely love my Honda Civic
I'm in love with my car! When I wake up in the early morning on a cold winter day I just know that as soon as I jump in my car, turn on those heated seats and turn on the radio, my trip down the hill will be done in comport and style. Heated seats and the camera in the passenger's side mirror makes driving an absolute pleasure. This is my third Honda Civic, my first was involved in a nasty head on car accident and the safety features saved my life. So I bought a second. Now I am the proud owner of a third, nearly 2 year old sedan and I am a total convert.
