Not as bad as Johnson's wipes

published

Our youngest is sensitive to these wipes and gets itchy redness on skin that is exposed. I did not rate it terrible as the reaction is a mere shadow of the painful burn-like rash inflicted by Johnson's sensitive baby wipes and our oldest daughter is fine with them.
As a wipe they are good for dealing with the bottom end (providing your child is not sensitive to them), however I found them to be not moist enough to deal with baby post meal time clean-up.

Purchased at Big W Retail Stores.

Very disappointed with Huggies Gentle touch baby wipes

published

These wipes didn't tear off easily, but worse than that, they left fibres from the wipe on the baby. Not as good as other water wipes, although they are 99%water! I found it hard to pull of 1 wipe with one hand while holding baby legs out of poonammis
Would not buy again.

Caused irritation for my baby

published

I used this product for my daughter but a few days later I started to see a bad reaction on her skin It was all red and irritated so I stopped using it Shame because it’s such a well known brand but didn’t work on her Also it’s not cut well every 2,3 wipes that they are sealed together which made it hard to use just with one hand

Not for us!

published

We were given a lot of Huggies baby wipes when our first was born so used quiet a few. They were moist and thick but I found them to be like paper and tear very easily whilst trying to wipe clean which was very annoying! We use other brands now.

These use to be the only wipes I would use. Not now!

published

These use to be the only wipes I would use. They were perfect for my first born so sensitive and loved how they were nice and thick too.
Since having my second the way they are folded they get stuck together and too many wipes come out and they rip. I tried a few boxes thinking maybe a bad batch and from different stores and nothing changed! It’s a shame as they were good, just not any more

Huggies Baby Wipes - Water only. really?

published

Bub has very sensitive skin and I bought the water only wipes for him thinking it will be fine as it's just water, what could go wrong? Bub reacted sooo badly to it, very very red bum, I had to use steroids to calm it down. Makes you wonder if it really is just water only.

Horrible product

published

The reason people review these poorly is because they feel like a paper towel, they lose their moisture in the pack.
plain and simple. I get the CVS brand and they are soft, gentle, fragrance free and half the cost.
I bought the huggies on sale at Shop Rite and I am returning them. I would have gotten stuck with 3 packs of them ugh!

Unfortunately causes bad reaction

published

Really liked these wipes (nice texture, thick, pulls out one at a time, package closes well) HOWEVER it caused our baby to develop a nasty rash so we had to stop using it. I think the ingredient that causes this problem is cocamidopropyl betaine as we've noticed the rash occur with other brands that have this same ingredient. Currently using Baby U Goat Milk wipes and not having any bad reaction to it.

Alcohol dried out and irritated skin.

published

Pros: Thick and Sanitises

Cons: Alcohol caused dryness and irritated skin.
Since changing brands my kids don't get rashes anymore and thanks to me using them one day to remove my make up I now know why!

They are ok until you need to wipe your child's bottom continuously with bugs like gastro etc to which the irritation becomes visible (rashes may appear) however if I wouldn't use it on my face again why would I use it on my child's? Yes the alcohol helps Sanitises but is it really necessary? Try it on your face and if you feel the need to moisturize maybe baby would appreciate some cream too or a change of brand.

Waste of money

published

I'm a FTM, and after purchasing a few bulk packets before baby arrived I found them to be quite dry, ripping apart and worse if all giving my poor baby ugly nappy rash! I so ce purchased curash wipes, sudocream and benapathrn ointment and the rash had gone. It's very upsetting but you will be suprised the difference with curash wipes
Goes on sale often
Ripps, dries. Nappy rashes

Better brands out there!

published

I really hate Huggies wipes as they are almost impossible to dispense one full cloth at a time. As previous reviews have mentioned, they rip very easily when pulling from pack leaving loose fibres. And if they don't rip it's because you've accidentally pulled out 5 at once meaning you go through the pack faster. Sometimes they get stuck and when you're using one hand you have shake the pack whilst holding the wipe its all very awkward. I also find they don't feel as smooth on a baby's bottom. Unfortunately these seem to be the only brand easily available everywhere.

Too hard and awkward to pull wipes out

Bad

I wouldn't recommend this product at all, they always tore when I tried to get them out which was really frustrating.
Tried these as they were on sale, didn't like them. They came with a great dispenser.
They rip when you pull them out. Left paper residue on my daughters bum.

I wouldn't recommend this product, I found them too thick and they would very easily tear just trying to wrestle one out of the packet. Not for me.
I used this product only when I was given samples of it for free to try, but to be honest I didnt really find any pro's, I dont like this item.
They are very thick and would often tear when trying to get one out of the packet and they are expensive.

I buy everything Huggies except the wipes as they are too thick which is not practical at all!You can get better ones out there and cheaper! However the good thing about them, they're not too wet nor too dry!
Good quality wipes of course they're Huggies!
No very easy to use on your bub's bum because they are way too thick!

Bad

I used these for the first couple of months on my baby. One day I used one on my face as we were away from home and they are so harsh that my face was stinging afterwards (my skin is not usually sensitive). I never used them again and switched to J&J sensitive which are very gentle and soft.
These wipes are thick and strong. They come in a range of options - sensitive etc.
Harsh - especially when you need to wipe the same spot a few times as you do when changing nappies. Also the little travel container is not air tight so the wipes dry out if not used quickly enough.
