Great car for families with kids of different ages
We bought this car after an extensive search for a seven seater to accomodate our family of an older child with two infants. This was the only car other than the Holden Captiva that fit the bill (Holden was totally disinterested in selling us a manual). I wanted a manual to drive and find the diesel great when you put your foot down and also very economical (true to fuel consumption in brochure). gh i'm very short and the headrests can get a little annoying (all cars are like this). The service from Hyundai was great and they got me a manual to test from another dealership. The only drawback is the brakes are a little soft, but this may be only in comparison with my last car, a mazda 3. Also, the front pillar on the driver's side can cause an obstruction when driving, however the holden was worse. All in all, we are very happy with our purchase. 7 seater 2.2 diesel available in manual, child restraints are in the back of seats, great pick up. Service great. Best car we have ever bought
We had to purchase a new vehicle that could tow our boat,trailer & caravan we tried to deal with various brands of vehicles and dealers and it didn't take long to decide what to buy
Fuel economy and pulling power is what sold us 6.4ltrs/100 from Sydney to Nambucca Heads and return, We were offered 8 years Warranty, 3 years free car wash and that is available 7 days a week, 3 years free Roadside assist and the other best thing is free safe parking and transfers to the airport
The only thing wrong is the car did not come with Bluetooth.

A great SUV for families or singles alike
I have now owned this car for about 6 weeks and LOVE it.
We'd looked around at various SUV's for quite a while before settling on the Santa Fe.
It drives quietly for a diesel and is so smooth and enjoyable to drive. A tank goes a long way.
I love that the display tells me how much petrol I am currenty using.
THe radio controls are so handy on the steering wheel.

OK
It was a nice car but doomed by design to roll. The steering needs plenty of attention....too much kickback when you hit a bump on a curve. I rolled it on my driveway. I would like to see the steering fixed before I would buy another Hyundai.
Looks great, comfortable to ride in. Good diesel motor. Powerful and economical. Center diff lock is good off road.
Terrible steering. Beware of the warning on the driver's sun screen. "This car will roll over". Dealer did not want to buy the car. So poor resale value. Wore out tyres quickly. No low range is a problem.

This a random, vague, comment - all 4wd's have high COG and therefore roll characteristics - that's life.....not a design flaw!

Rolled it on your driveway....hmmm...... Hope your kids don't intend on playing anywhere near there, let alone drive in the vehicle with you.

This car has all those extras without the extra price. If I lived in the hills I might be a little dissapointed, but as I am not, I am very happy with the performance of the Santa Fe Elite.
2007 Santa Fe Elite is a very comfortable car. Lots of leg room in the back - we have tall children and this was imperative. All wheel drive, air con, electric leather seats and lots of little hiding spots for those extras we women (especially) need to carry with us. I always just take my motor vehicles to a mechanic if I have any problem.
Never had any with my Sante Fe.
