Had the 65l for 2 years and it has just gone into its e1 warning works fine on 240v but every time it goes on 12v it comes up E1. Is there a reset I need to do?
1 answer
Check the troubleshooting section of the manual for resetting instructions. Other than that it could be the 12V computer or the 12V source you're running it from

I have bought an Ironman 50 L fridge and we have had it Professionally fitted for us. Ever since we bought it a month ago, it won’t run in our four-wheel-drive for any more than a day or two at a time. The battery and all the electrics have been checked several times since installation. Has anybody got any suggestions please. We are clear out of ideas. We need help.

If it is showing an E1 error message then the battery voltage has dropped low enough for the battery protection setting on fridge to kick in. Recharge the battery and it should work fine again
We have been running the car everyday which should have been charging the second battery.

I have a 50L ironman fridge freezer. How many amps does it draw? Have it connected to battery with solar panels topping it up.
2 answers
You could check your Ironman brochure if you still have it, otherwise do a web search. Our 65Lt Ice Cube draws about 3-4 Ah. We run it off 240V when we are static (permanently camping) and 12V when on the road with 2nd battery and 360W commercial solar panel. Does well except on cloudy days
Full sun today, up to 12.7v dropped back to12.1v as soon as sun went down.

My fridge wouldn't start then it did now it won't turn off and came up With aback to front 3 and a 1 could it be my battery if not where can I get someone just to look at it?
1 answer
E1 is an error message for battery protection stop. Check page 5 of your manual. I would try with 240v and see what happens. If that works fully charge battery and retry.

My 50L ironman fridge is 3.5 years old and has begun to say 15+ Degrees when inside is frozen and freezing everything anyone had this problem hoping an easy fix
2 answers
It sounds like the thermometer probe may need to be replaced. This is a very quick and inexpensive fix. I would contact your local outlet to arrange a fix.
I had the same issue wih mine, apparently if stored without use for decent amount of time the probe shrinks and cracks. Ironman replaced my probe with a stainless steel one now and I should never have this issue again, fantastic service from Ironman Bendale and MNF Burleigh.

Just bought mine 65 lt the temperature on right sais -20 when I have set it to -16 the left sais 8, when I have set it to 0 and it doesn't change. Anybody else have this problem?
1 answer
did you change over the power supply from battery to mains power at some stage? if this is the case you need to unplug it from all the power sources and use only the one of your choice, not both at the same time as this confuses the electronics in the fridge. I know the manual says you can do that but this is not the case. I have mine for 2 years now, by the way I have the same one as you, and I am using mine all the time, even in the middle of the summer and on the back of my ute under a canopy, and it still stay at the set temp. Very good value for money. Happy camping!!

Hi I have a 50l ironman fridge and the lid broke off does anyone know if I can order a new one online?
2 answers
hi there Tommy,
I have a very good relationship with my Ironman dealer and as I have bought many Ironman items from them they never hesitate to get any spares for whatever I need. Hope this helped you in any way :)
Hey Tommy, Ironman 4x4 sell through a distributor network. Usually it's the distributors who can order one in on your behalf. Alternatively you may be able to call Ironman 4x4 directly and they may be able to take payment over the phone and ship one to you.

I have a 65l dual fridge/freezer and we have a dual batter set up in the camper. We have changed the battery protection to low and use the economy setting. The battery protection cut the fridge off at 11.7 volts when the manual states it shouldn't cut fridge off till 10.2 volts. Is there anyway we can override this battery protection setting so we can run the battery down much much lower, like 5 volts? Brett.
1 answer
Even on a high quality deep cycle battery you wouldn't want to ever draw the power down that low.
10.5 is essentially a completely dead battery. while it could be recharged with a quality charger, Frequently discharging so low will mean an early death for your battery.
Mezzaasked
I have a 65L fridge freezer, is there an average temperature setting for the fridge and freezer?
2 answers
No Mezza it depends what you want to keep cool or freeze. You set it at the same temperature you will set your fridge/freezer at home. The advantage of this freezer is that you can easily change the temperature setting for different food you need to cool or freeze, or even do freezer on both compartments fridge on both, depending what you want to cool or freeze.
My "average setting is 4 deg for cooling and -18 for freeze.
Just keep in mind it will use more power for colder settings. hope that answers your question, have fun :)
P.S. my unit is same as yours and it still works great!!
Thanks Johan. ....good to know...now we off to see this great country.....

Every time I plug my 35l frindge in to my 79series ute the fridge keeps going on to e1 one and then my mate got a 79 now aswell and it does the same thing if tried running it on low hi mid Eco on and off it runs the lingerst on low Eco I have a duel battery set up and a plug in the tray that has power 24/7. I used an engel the other week didn't not have a problem so why does this fridge do this?
1 answer
e1 is low voltage at the plug. that's why it runs longest on the low setting, that switch is for voltage cut-off. the compressor uses less power on the economy setting. The reason for the e1 code is because you have a voltage drop on your wiring from the front or your fridge makes a bad connection at the plug. I have hot wired my fridge to the battery at the back on my car to eliminate that problem. You don't say where your extra battery is mounted. Also if the battery is fitted at the back you'll need a dc to dc battery charger to push up the voltage at the back to get a full charge on the battery at the back. With thick wiring I still lost voltage and charge to my battery at the back and it wouldn't last one day with my fridge running both compartments on 4C. Now with dc to dc charger it runs almost 2 days without charging and with freezer compartment set at -18C and fridge at 4C. I hope this answers your question.
