Loving my MUX
We have had the Isuzu for just under 12 months and i have found it to be an amazing 4wd. It tows our 2.6 tonne caravan with no problems, it very good on juice and the in roof DVD is amazing for the kids. Only a few miner complaints - Not a lot of storage for the driver, the front windows don't come tinted and you have to push the screen to remove the on board navigation warning. Would defiantly purchase again.

Absolutely no regrets
We have had the MU-X for nearly 10 months and love it. It doesn't drive as nicely as the Cx5 it replaced, but it is a totally different vehicle. Engine is very torquey, does everything with no effort. We haven't had it long enough to comment on long term reliability, but given Isuzu's history we have complete faith in it.
Inside is fine, have heard people say it isn't as nice as some cars and that it is like a utility inside, which it is, don't care still love it. I think in the 4wd wagon category it is the best value for money and the most sensible buy.

I'm very confident to praise this Vehicle
Very good to drive. The engine is very torquey, great for me as I tow a Caravan 20' 6". A bit of engine noise, but I sound proofed under bonnet & good now, interior is practical, good leg room, comfortable driving position, very good fuel economy, 14.7 Lts/100Kms towing 2.5 Tonne of Caravan. Stop Press!! After writing this review it has come to my attention that Isuzu will not sanction the use of a weight distribution hitch such as Hayman Reese if using with their factory Towbar. Buyers beware!!!

Isuzu Mux LST 2016
The Mux certainly reflects reliability and value for money. It does most things well but does fall short in the engine power delivery to which I would suspect that Isuzu are utilising a strategy to which Toyota ran for many years being to de-rate their engines so they will last longer that other engines in its class. This can be reassured by some of the performance specs that are being gained from these engines in diesel ute racing, and also being known as one of the higher performers in thailand for its strong engine. So all in all the engine ...Read more
has the capability of being spec'd up to perform, or be left in its ever reliable state. The main area of concern for me was the fact that the top of the line vehicle does not come with navigation system, which I find very disappointing, and simply not good enough Isuzu... Rectify the navigation system and I would rank the Mux as a great car, that could then only be improved with differential lock options.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Low tech but strong!
Strong, roomy, reliable steed but seriously lacking in technology. 3 litre motor is strong but unrefined, noisy, harsh and lacks power. Trans shifts can be quite harsh. Inside it's the usual Asian car story - plastic. A sea of plastic! No rattles and creaks but the audio is woeful for a current production car. Top of the range and no Nav. Poor quality phone integration. Poor switchgear location for ESP, electrical mirrors and rear fan. Rear screen entertainment has no headphones so everyone has to listen to what rear seat passengers are watching! Rear load cover is a throw away item!

Best thing since sliced bread
We have had our Mux three years and have driven it around just as a car and also towed our caravan over 30,000 klms it handles extremely well very economical when towing we get around 11 literally per 100 and just driving around 8 per 100. It is very roomy and comfortable if I could say the only problem we have had is sometimes the gps has a hissy if. I would recommend the Mux

Amazing BUT could be better
We love our MU-X we have the top of the line but it's a little disappointing in some areas.
It's good to run around town, fuel efficiency not as good as our previous Holden Colorado, also doesn't tow as good as the Colorado did either. (We have a camping trailer)
Interior is mint, it's comfortable but not OTT so it's no problem when my little grubs make a mess. Leather is easy to wipe over. They love the DVD player on long car trips. It's also super roomy, which is why we went with the MU-X over a prado or fortuner. Leg space for my 7 year ol...Read more

Love Love Love my MUX
There is nothing about this vehicle that i do not like.
It is so great to drive the seats are comfortable and there is ample leg room.
The dash is easy to see and not to distracting.
Great fuel economy even around town and if you are on the highway it is exceptional.
Great for towing our caravan Loves driving in the sand and off road

Better than I expected
Drives brilliantly, tows very well with plenty of low down torque. Handled hard off road work easily with other 4x4's struggling (Mitsubishi Pajero & Toyota Fortuna). Interior very commercial and could be softened. Steering adjustment could be better (no reach adjustment) . I expected a more ute like drive but the softer coil rear suspension destroyed my expectations. The dealer and Isuzu follow up and customer care far exceeds what I have received from other makers in the past.

Nagging faults
I did my checking and could not fault from other reviews. Vehicle ran ok for the first eight months. Nagging problems with fuel gauge jumping about and blue tooth not holding my phone but learnt to live with. Then the problems started, fuel sensor packed up dealer knew straight away what was wrong. Two weeks later had to be towed in again. This time, fingers crossed they found it, rusted wiring loom to the fuel rail. Took three weeks to get fixed. Two weeks after getting car back broke down again. Third time in eleven weeks, been off the road for four of those. Told its the same problem the new fuel sensor has failed. Fingers crossed it is now fixed.

Great car.
Solid car. Isuzu could improve sound system, suspension and the cheap looking dash. Fuel gauge is a bit funny as it jumps in 50's. Otherwise great can't fault anything else at 50,000km now. I will upgrade to the 2016/17 model soon since this one I bought in 2013 didn't come with keyless entry and ignition.

Isuzu mux fuel consumtion
I noticed a report of 11.5 litres / 100 km when used rurally. To get this consumtion the there is something wrong with you're vehicle or your a lead foot. I have had mine for 12 months and these are approximate averages I get: around Perth suburbs 8.9 litres / 100kms and towing a one tonne camper around Australia the average was less than 9.8 ltrs / 100 km. The most economical cruise speed with the camper was 98 km/ hr which is about 95 true. Driving at 110 km/ hr it rises to around 10.6 ltrs/ 100 km. Towing my camper I have recorded 647km wit...Read more
h a fuel uplift of 57 ltrs and on the same sector my friend uplifted 102 ltrs into his nissan patrol diesel. The 65 litre tank which I was concerned about was never an issue and I never had to refuel more often than my friends 130ltr nissan. Worthy of note that 30000 kms around Australia and no faults at all..none. I also find the auto changes down far quickly from 5th to 4th. So I operate with the transmission in the manual selection, it will still change down but at a much later point. The compromise is a vehicle that's a bit agricultural around town but in the bush the rougher the better. The front shockies get a bit hot and soft but only on long sections of very rough surface, it did a lot of offroad or poor road travelling and was shore footed and for the occupants very comfortable. March 8th 2017 Update: Another fuel consumption for my Isuzu Mux I have now done 42000kms in my vehicle and recently did a trip from Perth down to Denmark and return not towing anything. Driving at an indicated 115 to 120km/hr for most of the high way part of the trip I managed a computer average fuel consumption of 8.4ltrs/100km. In real terms for the 1040kms I used a tank plus a 20 litre top up, to be safe, for a total fuel used of 82litres for the trip at the refill or an average of less than 8.2 litres per 100 km.Similar opinion? Is let down by the GPS
The car drives OK but when you pay $50+K for a car you expect a GPS that works. The one in the MUX LST has maps that are out of date and they want $150 for an update. Even then, you can only get maps that are at least 12 months out of date. Not acceptable to me.

Great multipurpose vehicle
Had Mu-x LST 6 months, very happy. No problems whatsoever. Tows 2100kg (240kg ball weight) caravan brilliantly without a weight distribution hitch, minimal rear sag. Fuel consumption under 9 l/100km around town, under 12 l/100km towing the van, amazing. Smooth, refined, ample power and torque. Could have a few more features such as auto headlights and wipers, radar cruise control, more passenger seat adjustment but still great value for Isuzu dependability when compared to Prado, Fortuner, Everest etc.

Polished monster
1 year now owning this bronze beauty. Solid car, good handling even for a petite 5 foot 2 lady like me (though does require a bit of scrambling up to get on the seat). More than ample space, kids love the in car entertainment system, powerful AC. Impressive off road ability. Few glitches initially with handbrake adjustment and alignment but rectified by dealer promptly. Hoping for many many years of faithful service.

They got it right.
Buying a new car is always a stressful time. I decided on an Isuzu MU-X LST after a lot of research looking for a 4x4 that could pull a decent caravan, take me to the out of the way fishing spots that require a real 4x4, was economical to run and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to buy.
I have now completed about 4000kms including all types of driving and couldn't be happier. I read reviews that said it was down on power yet I find mine to have more than enough and I don't mess around on the road. I also read that the brakes were weak, wrong,...Read more
they are excellent, the turning circle is too big, wrong, it turns inside many smaller cars, the lights are poor, wrong, they are better than any I have had on previous cars. They say you can't please all the people all the time but I think Isuzu have done enough with the MU-X to please most of the people most of the time.Similar opinion? Best 4wd i ever had
After 3 month usage, down with 4000km on odo and I could not be happier.
Put a set of D697 AT tyre on, and it works awesome.
7L on highway, 9L around town is great fuel economy. Did some tracks in high country VIC, it was so capable when climbing hills.
Something down side, light is not that bright when it getting dark, and great fuel economy but fuel tank is small.
Every tank when I doing refuel is finish around 54L, even the d max get 76L fuel tank, may get a 120L aftermarket long range tank in the future.
All in all, its a very good 4wd, love my little truck, and great job, ISUZU

Great family car
Great family car. We have had ours for a year. Good fuel economy on local and long distance trips. Is very comfortable. Our child loves the inbuilt DVD player. Plenty of room and drives perfectly on the beach. We highly recommend the Isuzu MUX. We are very happy with it and can't fault it.

Error in Fuel Consumption
I've had the LS-T version for 6 months now and can't complain.
I note "Young's" comment of 15 June about the fuel consumption readout on the dash display. I too was initially confused at first glance but then noticed that the gauge measures kilometres per litre NOT litres per 100 kms. Therefore, the more highway running you do, the higher the figure. In Young's case, he was getting 12 kilometres per litre of fuel used, not 12 litres per 100 kms travelled. I'm currently travelling about 9.5kms per litre used around town.
In all, a great car but pity about the Bridgestone Dueler H/T tyres. Woeful!!

Added a folding mirror unit so that the mirrors now fold in when locked and modified the audio wiring so that I can call from the phone book while driving! Two services and the aftersales service is pretty average.
