Great Comfortable Car Seat
We have been using the Joie I-Travvel Signature car seat for our 11 day old baby. Installation quite straightforward although found the instructions provided inadequate (we ended up reading online forums/ watching videos). The car seat itself appears to be a good quality - our bub seems quite comfortable and it is relatively easy to transition him to and from the car. I also like that there is an additional head rest for newborns, which has kept him nice and secure. Adjusting the seatbelt straps is very straight forward which allows us to get a nice snug fit each time
Purchased in November 2021.

On first pulling it out of the box it’s clear the fabrics are in a whole new category for amazingness lol It. Is. GORGEOUS. I also love that there is an additional soft headrest insert for newborns which is something I haven’t seen in any other seat that already has a built in headrest. This insert is detachable from the newborn bum padding insert which the majority of 0-4 seat come with which makes it very flexible....Read more
SETTING UP || 4.5/5 Getting ready to install was extremely easy. There are clearly labelled levels on the seat so you know which recline setting to use for RF and FF and the single lever you pull to change levels is easy and feels great to use. I much prefer this method to the double lever method used on some Britax seats which can lead to confusion around it being completely reclined. The headrest adjustment is the best I have come across, it’s solid, easy to use and slides up and down with ease-big win on that one! The headrest itself is a great width with plenty of room for big headed kids like mine :P Another thing I LOVE is the explanations of the height marker’s RIGHT THERE ON THE LABEL. It is an awesome idea and one I think all other car seat companies should copy. It takes all the confusion out of what marker means what and when kids need to stay RF, turn FF, and stop using the seat. The shoulder strap padding is much too padded for my liking as they are with every other seat I’ve ever used so off they came. Easily done due to the press studs. One thing I really wish it had was the ability to swap the tether to the driver’s side. It does make it so much easier for people with more than 1 RF child. Currently only Infasecure seats have this option without needing to pay to have your seat “repaired” by an authorised repairer in Perth. INSTALLING || (3.5/5) Due to lack of ISOfix indicators and unclear seatbelt path in manual The “on paper” sizing indicates that the Joie has a MASSIVE 70cm RF depth, but I have found this to be completely inaccurate. I installed it in place of my Infasecure Quattro whose depth is 54cm, and as you can see by the images, I can fit exactly 4 fingers between both seats. I didn’t change the position of my front passenger seat at all. And even at my daughter’s head level, the headrest on the Joie seemed to line up with the shell of the seat, so it didn’t protrude over and make it longer. I have no idea where they got their measurement from but I think it will scare a lot of people off buying this seat unnecessarily! I installed using ISOfix and one thing I did notice is that there isn’t an audible “click” like there is with other seats so you know it’s securely clipped on. In fact I pulled it on and off a few times just to make sure it was on correctly. It would be great if they have indicators like Britax seats to show it’s clipped to the connection point correctly. Like other ISOfix seats it has indicators which show when they have been pulled tight enough. I found them easier to tighten than Maxi Cosi and Infasecure seats, but not quite as easy as on Britax seats. The tether takes a different path than any other seat due to where it attaches. Instead of going around the seat sides, it goes next to the headrest. This could lead to some uncertainty installing for the first time (as it did for me) but the instructions do show clearly how it should be routed so as long as you read them you should be fine ;) Seatbelt install is easy enough although the manual makes it seem as if the seatbelt goes OVER the fabric, not under it. Clarification with Joie resulted in them advising that it is fine to go under the fabric, through the slots where the ISOfix adaptors come from which makes much more sense. This needs to be clearly articulated in the manual however. USING || 4.5/5 Tightening the straps is easy enough due to the single pull method used by Britax seats. I was a little disconcerted as I normally reach behind the seat to pull down on the straps to make tightening easier but the back of the seat on the I-Travvel is covered so you can’t do this. But I found I could still get a tight enough fit by just using the tightening strap. Personally I’d still prefer to be able to grab the straps from behind and be able to see the back of the seat in case there’s ever an issue with the straps. Due to the seats width my daughter had loads of legroom both widthways and lengthways. Her legs seemed to have slightly more room in the I-Travvel than her Quattro. I love the fact that the I-Travvel has a built in rebound bar which means so much more room for RF kids legs. Big thumbs up. Adjusting the headrest in the car is just as easy as doing it before installing. I love the feel of the solid handle and easy adjustment. The routing of the tether straps around the headrest made it a little awkward at times as it’s much closer than usual but once I was used to it it was fine. My daughter also didn’t seem to care that it was a bit closer to her than in other seats. The tether adjuster is the same button type as used in Britax seats. Whilst I personally prefer the lever method of Infasecure seats over the button method I had no problems loosening and tightening the tether each time. ***Comparison to Infasecure Quattro-August 2022 My 2y5m old is currently Rear Facing (RF) in an Infasecure Quattro in a 2022 Kia Carnival. Here are some key ‘paper figures’ to note: Quattro RF Depth: 54cm I-Travvel RF Depth: 70cm (I have found this far from true in real life) Quattro Width: 42cm (Slimmest in Australia) I-Travvel Width: 53cm (Mid-range width) Similarities-Both have: Built in rebound bar Auto adjust headrest and harness Extended RF Differences: Quattro: 8 headrest positions I-Travvel: 10 headrest positions WINNER Quattro: 9 forward facing recline positions WINNER I-Travvel: 4 forward facing recline positions Quattro: No Isofix I-Travvel: Isofix WINNER Quattro: Adjustable crotch buckle WINNER I-Travvel: Non Adjustable Crotch Buckle Quattro: No Built in seatbelt lock-offs I-Travvel: Built in seat belt lock off’s for forward facing WINNER Quattro: Tether can swaps sides WINNER I-Travvel: Tether cannot swap sides Quattro: Ratchet/Multi-tug harness tightening I-Travvel: Single pull harness tightening WINNER (This depends on personal preference and even though I’m an Infasecure girl I prefer the single pull method)Purchased in August 2021 at Baby Bunting Online store for $399.00.
